The video uses academic jargon to give a simple spearfishing trip a false sense of scientific depth. It is a clever but transparent attempt to rebrand a primal hobby as a study in marine biology.

Deep Dive
The Fishiest Spot in the World.Hinzugefügt:
Welcome everybody to Spear Fishing Down Under. Now, what if I was to tell you that today in this video, we're going to show you what I would say is the fishiest place that I have ever dove.
>> Even Karen's trying to find out this spot.
>> Where did you get handed >> in the ocean?
>> What?
>> You know, out around here.
>> Yeah.
Well, you don't want to say >> certainly don't. Never say >> I promise you one thing. If I tell you I'm lying.
>> Now, if I was to tell you where it was, that meme of everybody running to the spot that somebody tagged me in the other day, I think that is what would happen if I was to tell you where this place was. Let's get into this. Let me just show you how incredible this spot was. This was about the second or the third time I'd been there. Always really fishy, but this was just absolutely mind-blowing. First dive headed down to the bottom. Now, it wasn't just one of those normal dives. I started to head to the bottom. Looked up to start to see fish. And did I see fish? First thing I see is mega schools of sturgeon fish mixed with amberjacks mixed with travalis. And I started to drift down through those amberjacks.
Man, as I come through those amberjacks, I started to see below them there was big mangrove jacks off to the side. And down on the bottom was a mat of maloway.
Mind-blowing to think how many fish here are on this spot. I I was just panning around. Mull away cod. Big mangrove jacks. Nothing there that really just I had to shoot and honestly what was going on right here was I was blown away by the simple amount of fish. Moments like this actually helped me to understand why fish live in schools. You know what?
I actually swam to the surface without even pulling the trigger because I was so blown away by the fish that were there. This next dive on the surface, I slowly got my head together, got myself focused, and as I pushed down through those amberjacks, which was actually a mixture of high fin and greater amberjacks.
I saw some really nice mangrove jacks. I drifted off behind them. One of them spooked. I wasn't 100% sure I wanted to shoot it, but I drifted through again.
Here's this mat of mullaway.
Unbelievable amount of fish. And I was looking through those mullay. None were really big and not the fish I necessarily wanted to shoot. I I looked back to my left and saw a small mangrove jack. I saw some more maloay obviously.
And in the middle of it was a nice red emperor. Beautiful eating fish and just a cool fish to see and to shoot. I nailed myself a really nice 6 to 7 kilo red emperor.
Look at these fish. They are so beautiful. You can understand why these fish are so heavily sought after. Now, this next dive was again really cool.
Breathe up. Headed back down to the bottom. I've just landed a nice red emperor. And I was wanting to shoot something else that is really tasty. As I come down through those amberjacks again, I I noticed that the school of maloway had actually dispersed a little bit and gone off into deeper water. Come through the the amberjacks and there were surgeon fish and some really nice mangrove jacks. And I just looking at those mangrove jacks again, hoping to find another red emperor. It's at that moment because the mullway had dispersed a bit, I noticed that there was actually a really nice school of pearl perch.
Now, if you're from Queensland here, you would know these are the tastiest fish in the ocean. And this pearl perch was a really good fish around that 2 kilo mark. And I could see another beside it.
Lined up. Now myself a beautiful pearl perch. Tasty, amazing fish. Two incredible fish in two dives.
Was all good. There's another nice red down there. Bigger than the one I shot.
>> See the largies?
Now I'm only up to dive three and I have seen more fish than I'd seen for months.
This is mind-blowing how many fish are on this spot. So the boys did a couple extra dives and I took a little bit of time just on the surface. Bit deeper and surface intervals really important for these deeper dives. Now this is later in the afternoon and the sun was starting to get a little bit lower. It's amazing when that sun gets a bit lower in this deeper water how quickly it gets darker on the bottom. It'll probably been about 20 minutes between 25 minutes between dives and I head back down to the bottom.
Fish has settled a little bit, but there's still huge schools of amberjacks, schools of surgeon fish.
and the Maloway School had made their way back to the bottom.
I drift down into that Maloway School and I'm trying to decide what to shoot.
I know it's getting late. I haven't got many dives left in me and I was thinking about that Maloway. I was thinking about those mangrove jacks and then I see another Red Emperor.
Now, pause here for a second. You will notice that to my right there is a huge Red Emperor. To my left there is a little Red Emperor. Obviously, I didn't see the big one. And I reach out and I nail that small red emperor. Again, as I'm coming back up, look, I rotate that big red. Probably around 10 kilos is just looking at me. This is why fish live in school. So much going on. I picked the wrong fish. Now, I pull that red emperor back to the surface. And I can see how dark it is and how late it's getting. I know I got one dive left in me. And just breathe up as quick as I could. Not a good thing in deeper water.
Keeping an eye on my surface interval and I head back down to the bottom. As I come down, it's not just the fact that it was a little bit dirty and dusty. Now it is dark. I was actually thinking in my head, oh, this is getting dark here.
Shot fish. As I'm thinking that, I look up. Big job fish. Oh, to me, that big job fish is just a savior. It saves me having to swim any further down. And I nailed myself a really nice big job fish and head back to the surface. Now, as I pull up to the surface, I realize I've shot it through the gills. And this is what can happen. A fish rolled over and it's just catching on the inside of its gills. There's no meat there. There's nothing really to hold on to. And I'm gingerely pulling it up.
>> Second gun. Second gun. Quick, quick, quick, quick, quick.
Anything. Hurry up.
Fortunately, I had Dan with me. He nailed that job fish. Probably not the best second shot you've ever seen, but the fish is in the boat.
>> Thanks, Azy.
>> That wasn't coming out, but it looked bad.
>> That was pitch black on the bottom. A I just couldn't see a damn thing. And I just see this white thing coming out.
What the hell is that? Oh, it's a job fish. You're dead.
>> Now it gets really dark. You can see the sun's about to set and we decide it's time to head off.
>> I think that about does us for the day.
Eh, any complaints?
>> I've got plenty of complaints.
>> Any complaints that I can actually do something about?
>> No, not really. No.
Oh, what a I'm absolutely rooted as well. I got another dive for me, but that was pitch black.
I can't believe we landed all those fish and didn't lose one to that silver fridge just there.
This spot always sucks. Hey, there's never any fish here.
>> This is some of the fishiest, craziest places you could ever dive. Now, I'd love you to write in the comments and tell me you think this is genuinely the fishiest place that you could ever dive.
