MASSIVE DEMOLITIONS! Nairobiโs Massive Makeover & Beautification in 2026.โฆWorth it?๐ฐ๐ชAjoutรฉ :
[music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Hi guys. Welcome back to the channel. My name is Winnie. And today we are in the Nairobi CBD. We're taking a look at some demolitions that are happening. Uh removing the old pavements and making new ones. So I'm opposite Nairobi Sports House. And Chicken Inn is ahead. So I'm on the opposite side of the Nairobi Sports House. And there's a lot of demolition happening here. So I'm going to show you what it looks like. If you're new, please remember to subscribe, like this video, and leave a comment. And if you're not new, leave a comment and let me know what you think about this project. So let's get into the video.
Okay guys, so that is Nairobi and Sports House So there's a lot of work happening here.
And it's the whole street. So I want to show you guys what is going on.
So let's take a walk here.
Wow, wow. So it looks like Nairobi is going to be completely revamped.
All this demolishing of the old pavements and making new ones.
So let's walk up to the end and see what is happening on this street.
Please remember to like the video, comment, like, subscribe if you haven't.
And yeah, so this is what is happening.
You can see they have even I don't know if this tree has been uprooted or it's a new one that they want to I don't know if this tree is like uprooted or it's or it's been brought for I don't think if it if it was brought here for installation, I don't think they'd put stones over it. So I think this has been uprooted and they're going to plant new They're going to They're going to plant new plants and also put in new cabro.
So I guess this is also going to be cabro once it's done.
Yeah guys. So let me know what you think guys about the current revamping that's happening in Nairobi right now. This is a very busy street.
You'll find like lots of restaurants here.
And like It's a it's basically a very busy street. And also the opposite street is also a very busy street. And it's just adjacent to the Nairobi Archives.
Which you know is like I think they're trying to transform it to look like the New York Times Times Square or something. Times Square.
Yeah, so it's good when tourists come to archives and they can also take this street and see something nice.
So somebody commented that the renovations happening are only happening because of Safaricom.
Do you guys think all this work would be done if not for Safaricom or not?
So you can see amazing, amazing.
So I'll definitely keep you guys updated once um once they start the work.
It's a small street but also there's a lot of cars getting packed here. So that's why it's so packed and kind of congested.
But once the cabro is done, you guys know that it's going to look amazing.
So this is what they are doing like demolishing Yeah, you can see there's a lot of cars being packed here. And it's quite busy.
Yep.
Yeah, so you guys comment down below and tell me. Do you really think uh the city of the city council of Nairobi county government wouldn't be doing this project if not for what is it called? Safaricom? What do you think? The government would still be doing this regardless of Safaricom or no Safaricom?
Yeah.
Yeah, it's what it's looking like.
Lots of cabro here ready for placing and ready for construction. So we've come from all that side.
So we have Bata here. We have Optica.
We have Best Lady.
You can see Best Lady here. You can see Bata here.
You can also see uh Perfect Cafe.
There's also one cafe that they sell like shawarma. I think it's the Dallas Chicken. Very nice. And then there's Chicken Inn over there. And then archives is there. So just going to walk straight and see.
So you can see they've already started placing construction materials, which is the cabro.
Already started putting it together ready for construction.
Um I just love Nairobi sometimes because you can like find trees. It's not easy to see cities that have trees.
Yeah.
All right.
So more demolition, more demolitions.
And I think we've reached the end of the street.
And as you can see here, there's still more um materials for construction. This is the cabro that they're going to be using.
You can see it's like they look different. There is a darker color and there's also like a lighter one, that one.
This one.
So yeah.
And then there's you know soil.
I don't know what they call this, but I think if you watch my previous video or the next video, I don't know how I'm going to post them. But there's a guy who explained um about how they place it so that they can put the cabro.
Okay guys, so basically this is the end of this street.
This is what is happening.
Yeah.
So yeah, I guess um we're in for yet exciting developments happening in the city of Nairobi. You guys let me know what you think. You guys can see that uh we are already on the archives. You know we're already on archives. And this is also a busy beautiful street uh street. There's also like uh the large TV here that you know they put advertisements and all that. And then there's also this other screen over here.
You can see that.
So it's kind of a replica of like Times Square of New York. I know like comparing Nairobi to New York is a bit of a stretch, but when I see the current renovations happening, I'm thinking this is what the government is looking at. Having a beautiful area where there's the there's the uh National Monu- Monument and there's like um big screens for advertisement and nice cabro and shopping because there's also Mr. Price on that side. So I I guess that's the vision of the government basically.
Yeah, so yeah, that's what I think. And then opposite there's just like the sitting area which is like Hilton side. So I guess that's what they're trying to make it look like. You guys comment down below and tell me if the government is intentionally trying to make this street look like uh Times Square or I'm just overthinking it. Yeah.
Okay guys, so I'm done um with that street.
It looks beautiful. I think it's going to look beautiful once it's done. So for now it's just the demolishing and you know, waiting for them to start putting in the cabros. I guess the cabros are going to look the same as the ones in archives. So let me just give you a quick um a quick tour of what this archives is looking like right now. Especially after it was done. It's in the evening and it's very crowded, but let me show you what things are looking like.
So from the archives You guys can see the kind of cabro that they placed here. That's the National Archives. And you guys can see here, >> [music] >> there's uh Mr. Price.
And you know, the big screen >> [music] >> Yeah, and then you can see there's also another monument here, the Hilton.
So you can see uh that's what is happening right now.
>> [singing] [music] [music and singing] >> Hilton Hotel.
>> [music] >> Okay.
>> [music] >> Okay, guys. So, that's it.
I hope this video doesn't give me uh copyright.
I hope he doesn't give me a copyright.
So, this is archives.
And this is the kind of cobble they place here. You can see they're also like uh blocking open drainage or something like that.
So, you can see this.
You can see what was happening over there.
There are There's lots of people.
Yeah, and then I think there's another one over there I'm seeing.
They're doing So, let's take a look.
>> [music] [music] >> Hey, guys.
As you can see, there's a whole new street that they're demolishing and putting the cobbles. And then also, they're blocking the open drainages uh potholes in this in the archives. So, I'm seeing like 1 2 3 that trying to like block them. So, that's it. I will probably see you on the next video. Comment down below and tell me what you think about the current developments that are happening. It's a very busy street, as you can see. There's photographers here.
People are working here. People are sitting here relaxing. It's a beautiful place to behold, especially once it's cleaned and all. So, I definitely do see like a mini Times Square, if I do say so myself. And I'll see you on my next video. Remember to like, comment, and subscribe. Bye.
Hi, guys. Another vlog, another video.
Thank you so much for tuning in. If you're new, if you're not new, thank you so much for always coming back. So, we're in Nairobi CBD. And leave a comment so I get to know you guys, okay?
So, remember to like this video, comment, and subscribe if you haven't.
And let's see the progress of this project.
Yeah, so this is what is happening here.
I am opposite the I&M I just want to take a walk here and see what is happening. As you can see, there's a lot of construction material.
And it's like they've done the cobble up a bit.
So, let's take a look here.
And you can see there's like new cobble here and a lot of construction material.
So, I'm going to take a walk from here straight up to that side.
Let's see if there's any project uh progress. If there's anything that is done.
And yep.
Comment down below and tell me what you think about the developments that are happening on the Nairobi CBD.
So, it looks like it's about to rain.
So, I want to just finish this and rush home because So, if it starts raining, it's not going to be funny.
Hello. How are you? I'm good.
What are you doing? I am documenting about uh developments that are happening up at Oh, I'm not I'm not doing infrastructure. Yes. Uh that will be the last thing that will happen. Yeah, you can subscribe to my channel on YouTube. YouTube channel? Yes.
>> [laughter] >> Okay, guys.
Yeah, let's see the progress of the project.
Okay, so it looks like they started placing the cobbles.
Last time this area was like demolished.
But the cobble looks very untidy.
It doesn't look clean at all and it doesn't look like it's finished.
So, let's just keep going. Oh my god, copyright, copyright, copyright.
Let's keep going.
>> [music] >> I make outfits. I would like to do a collab with you.
Okay.
>> [music] >> Okay, guys.
Let's keep going.
>> [music] >> It looks like they've already placed the [music] new cobble.
And they're >> [music] >> It looks like they're It looks like they've already placed the new cobble.
And yeah.
Things are looking like last time here.
Everything was like demolished.
Now I'm seeing like there's new progress.
Uh the cobbles have been placed. But why does it look so old? Or is it just me?
Is it just me?
Or am I looking at old cobbles?
Anyway, let's just keep going. As you can see here, you can see more like they're trying to beautify.
I don't know what they're doing here, but let's wait. Next time we'll see the progress.
Cross the road.
Wow, guys, I'm not in a new street. They did this cobble.
But last time here it was literally like a demolished street.
Guys, why is the cobble looking so old?
It looks so old.
Anyway, let's just keep going.
All right.
So, okay, so it's literally new cobble, but it looks so old I couldn't recognize it, guys.
So, this is what it's looking like. It's a busy street.
I guess they have to do this on a Sunday.
I can see I'm seeing So, I can see what it looks like completely. But this is a new cobble.
This is a new cobble, guys.
Tell me what you think. What you think?
What you think?
It's congested. Lots of buses, small cars.
What's happening?
Yeah, this is new cobble. Last time this was like demolished completely.
And I don't think they've done like good finishing.
But it doesn't look It doesn't Hello.
Okay, guys.
Wow, okay.
Okay, so I guess This is a new cobble, guys. And I hope they're still coming back to finish.
Because it doesn't look new at all, but it does look decent.
So, that's what this uh street looks like.
There's more construction materials here.
And I want to cross on the other side and see if they're if they're done finishing. I don't know if I'm able to do a video of the the downtown part and see if there's any progress or if we're practically done with this video.
Yeah.
So, consider this also like a 4K walking tour of Nairobi city.
Um It looks the same. That side looks the same. So, if you haven't watched my previous video, please consider watching that video to get the concept of before and after.
Okay?
So, I'm going to cross on the other side at Quickmart, and then we're going to look at what things are looking like, you know?
So, let's cross the road.
But, you guys, that's cabro. I don't seem disappointed, but I am kind of disappointed.
It doesn't look new at all. I was literally just passing over cuz I could have started the video all the way from that side of Archives, but I ended up passing and going too far because I thought this is like old cabro.
And then some guy told he remembered me and told me that it's actually new cabro. So, I'm surprised.
He remembered me from my previous video.
So, I guess that's how the job is But, I think they should do the job like What is it called? Like the JKIA. JKIA looks so beautiful, guys.
Let's cross and get it over with.
Okay.
So, this is what we have here.
So, they are also redoing this. So, by the way, last time they hadn't done this. So, let's take a walk and see what is happening. Hello.
So, as you can see also, this is You know what confuses me the most? New cabro looks like old cabro. So, at least here I can say this does look new.
But, hey.
This contractor, I think he's like a local contractor, a Kenyan one, at that matter. Because why is this Why is he doing the job like he's placing the cabro everywhere and then not finishing, like doing the finishing?
You know, like so here, they haven't put the tree that they're supposed to be placing.
So, that looks like new. At least this part looks like new. But, I guess once people step over it, it doesn't look new anymore. So, let me not even cross Let me not like step on it cuz I think they are not yet done.
But, you can see this is how things are looking like here.
And Wow.
Okay, but I wish um I wish they can focus I wish they can just focus on doing the project, you know? Do one pavement. Do it until you're done with the finishing, until you're done with like planting of flowers, and then start another pavement or sidewalk. Instead of doing 1,000 uh sidewalks, which all of them are not yet done. So, you can see here practically this This is what they call finishing, and you can see the dents, the size.
I don't understand it, but I guess the ones who the ones who are doing the job, they know their their job better than I do, I guess.
So, I can't really comment much because they know what to do best.
But, I wish they could like focus on one thing, finish, and then take up the next project. Am I Am I Am I being too judgy?
Hello.
Okay, guys. So, I think there's nothing else to see here. They are done.
Um Yeah, they are done. This is what we call they are done.
And it's so dirty, but it rained uh cats and dogs yesterday, so I guess let's just give them a break because it takes time to like come back and clean up.
So, I guess also this street is done.
Yeah.
So, I guess this is what we call project is done.
Yeah.
I'm kind of disappointed, though.
Guys, I am kind of disappointed with the finishing of the project. I expected something more magnificent, cleaner, neater, but I guess this is what we get on the CBD, and there's nothing we can do about it cuz this is how they're doing it.
Especially on that street, they're they've really done like a job shoddy job, sorry to say, because they're not finishing the project.
They're just placing the cabro and going to the next street. They've not done the sidewalks properly, they've not placed the trees, they've not done the lighting. Like, I'm not understanding, or maybe they they have to like do placement of the cabro first, and then they'll come back and do um What is it called? They'll come back and do the finishing. Maybe um Yeah, so I guess in 2 weeks' time or a week's time, when I come back um on the Moi Sports Centre, they'll be done, right? So, I guess that's how they're doing the project.
So, you guys, comment down below and tell me what you think. I am disappointed.
I'm disappointed with this project specifically. I think all other projects I was happy with.
I was excited the first time when I came here because the demolitions looked promising. It looked like now they are serious and they want to do something serious. But, now that I've come back and seen the cabro they placed, I'm kind of disappointed. You guys tell me if I'm expecting too much or this is a good job. If this is a good job, let me know in the comment section. Maybe I'm expecting too much.
But, yeah, that's it for today.
I guess I'll see you guys on the next video. Remember to subscribe, like, comment, and talk with me in the comment section, and bye.
