[00:00:00]If you have states, stunned, blinded, haste, anything like that, you need to think about if that state transition is instantaneous or not. If it's instantaneous, no problem. You get blinded, then the instant you are blinded, the game checks, are you blinded? And it does a bunch of stuff, and the screen goes blank, and then when it expires, it goes back, no problem.

[00:00:22]But some states have a transitional period. If I reach zero hit hit points, you might decide that I'm dead. But I'm not yet dead from the perspective of everything, because I'm not lying on the ground yet. You can't make my body disappear. You can't make it so that I don't impede pathfinding. Then what happens is I need to enter into this transitional state, where I'm dying. So I reach zero hit points, and I start to fall over, I still have pathfinding, and it's only after I finish twitching on the ground that I can fully be dead, that I'm now a corpse that can be resurrected, that I'm no longer impeding pathfinding, whatever you want to do.
