This video demonstrates two common HVAC service calls: first, a technician diagnoses and fixes a system that wasn't cooling properly by discovering the maintenance technician left the condensate drain uncapped, which created suction preventing proper water flow; second, the technician performs a blower motor replacement on an out-of-warranty unit, showing proper electrical connections, capacitor testing, and system verification with pressures (low side 137°F, high side 305°F) and delta T of 20°F.

Running 2 Easy Calls To Finish Off The Week!Added:
All right, guys. Um, I'm really really What? What am I talking about? I'm picking this Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm picking up this video after my last call, which was um replacing the reversing valve. Right now, I'm headed to go do a service call and then a blower motor swap right after.
Um that call I'm going to right now it's um in Uburn about an hour drive.
Um that's a blank thermostat call. Um hoping for a cloud drain.
Um with no pan filled up, but we'll pick it up once we're at the call. Let's just hope for the hope for the best. It is Thursday. I have an appointment tomorrow. So, I'm off. So, today is Friday for me and I am I am on call this this weekend on um Memorial Memorial Day. So, we'll see how it goes or Yeah. All right, guys.
>> Hello.
>> How's it going? I'm here for the AC.
>> Mhm.
>> Thank you.
>> Yeah, cuz they we just had it serviced.
three months ago cuz he back in like August. So, >> Gotcha. And was it a >> You were on your program.
>> Oh, gotcha. Was it a fall maintenance?
>> Yeah, it was a full maintenance that he did. Yeah, >> that's the one thing. Um, we don't clean drains uh during fall maintenance cuz there's no condensation being made.
>> We tried to tell or >> I think he did full because it was our first time cuz he did talk about the drain, didn't he, Bill, when he was here? Yeah, he did talk about >> I'll see what he did on the history.
See if he actually touched the drain cuz usually if it's a fall maintenance, we don't touch condensation. I mean drain lines. But if it's a spring maintenance, we do touch those.
>> Yeah, cuz it was >> Yeah, cuz he's due it's every 6 months.
It was due like to come back in August cuz we had talked about we had to get everything moved in the garage so you can pull the stairs down by the time he came back.
>> Gotcha.
So, so yeah, we have no power going to the thermostat.
>> Let me go up to the >> the air handler. See if the flow switch is tripped.
>> All right, let's check this flow switch.
Oh that's what it is.
Drain's nut freaking cap, dude.
My god.
Yep. Finish water and flow switch.
Ah man.
Okay.
Might as well cleans and drain already here.
Okay.
Take a picture.
Okay.
Some of this.
Some of this real quick.
maintenance guy left it uncut up, dude.
Full this P tray back up.
Okay.
Okay.
All right.
Let's go check to see if they came back on real quick.
20 26 maybe >> 21st 3 16 17 actually.
Okay.
All right, wait for it to come back on and I'll have to Let me show you a picture real quick.
So, the drain up there has a cap to it.
The last guy left it uncapped. So, this is just a warranty call. Um, >> okay.
>> Cuz, uh, when there's no cap, that system comes on and it's almost like a straw in there. It's sucking instead of the It's pretty much now allowing that water to go through the drain because it's pretty much sucking. It needs to be capped. That way that water can >> just keep going.
>> Exactly. So, >> all right. So, we got 76 here.
And then we got 82.
Thermostat's reading 81 right now.
Let's see.
Yeah, 84.
So, it's definitely still not cooling as much.
My line's a little cold.
I don't really hear it on the refrigerant, too.
Let's go outside and check pressures real quick.
H I just I hear refrigerant foil now.
There has to be something going on with the condenser.
Let's go outside real quick.
All right.
I swear I heard it turn off. Could be because of this, too, though.
What's going on with my drill, dude?
Oh my god. Is my drill going bad?
It might be beat the peak.
That might have been what's was causing this to turn off.
This is uh 42 42 6° is so cool. That's the air handler they always use out here at these uh new development pretty much.
Okay. 6° is sub cool.
14A 14.
Not too bad.
Pretty good. Obviously, it just kicked on, too. So, yeah. Pretty good. I'm pretty sure this thing was just uh turned off or this beat the peak turned it off cuz that one was running too.
And it was running before we went in there. At least from what I saw.
All right.
All right, you guys. Um maintenance guy left it uncapped again.
I mean, I'm sure if you go back in my videos, you'll see one of the other calls. The drain was uncapped, but it is what it is. I cleaned the drain either way. Capped it back up and check pressures. Pressures look good.
Everything look good. Um the beat the peak is what they call it over here. Um you the electric company will um shut off certain neighborhoods if you're signed up for that stuff just to help the power grid.
But yeah, that that that thing turned on. So that's why it wasn't giving me a good delta T. But that's it for that one. Um we're headed to go do this blur mo blower mo blower motor swap for this um oxbox which is out of warranty but it's 5 years old or 6 years old or five and two months I think old.
But anyways, we'll go. I'll pick this up once I'm at that call. And that should be it for this week. And I'm hoping to upload this maybe Saturday.
Yeah, maybe Saturday or Friday.
Maybe Saturday.
We'll see. All right, guys.
Come on.
Oxbox.
All right.
All right.
I believe there's a a light switch here somewhere.
Right here.
Look at that.
Look at that.
All right.
All right.
Okay.
There's that. Is there a disconnect somewhere besides right here?
Okay.
All right.
So, we have this plug right here.
Let me get my layout.
this plug which has see what wires go to that plug.
So this my ground right here, my ground, purple, blue. I think all those go to it.
Okay.
Okay, that one.
This other one I think might just stay in there.
Actually, this one, this one, and this one. Then we got to get that ground out.
God, this insulation, dude.
Of course.
You know what?
Stripped out.
Not a problem.
Not a problem.
All right.
Put this back on. There we go.
All right.
Capacitor we checked and it's good.
Let's go ahead and get this out.
Double extension.
Double extension.
Okay.
Look at all this insulation falling off.
All right. It should just come out, I think.
Oh, so I do have to pull that out, huh?
Okay.
I don't think I ever done a FL in the cross piece.
Okay, so let's go ahead and loosen this up.
Okay, dude.
There's my adjustable. That's wild.
Okay.
Not going to unscrew these with the adjustable.
So dumb box. Made in China, boys.
Made in China.
Easy peasy.
Okay. See, it looks good right there.
Oh my goodness.
This will be hard to replace in like two years, I swear.
All this rust already developing.
This rust below the wheel.
Okay, Gucci.
Take this installation out of here.
Should be good. All right, let's inspect to see if this is clean.
Let's spray it down a little bit.
Okay.
Boom.
Put this back in.
We know this capacitor is good from last time.
First he black piece I dropped be all right.
Boom.
This one here I missed.
Oh my gosh. One of these are large.
Got to fish these out, man.
My god. Take these screws off real quick.
All right. SW is back how it was. Purple down here.
Red up here.
Think it was like that.
Take my picture away.
Right on the other side.
Dude, I just put you in. What?
Jeez.
Blue, black, red.
Okay, now we can kick it on.
And we'll just jump it right there.
Jump it a G to R.
Okay.
Okay.
G to R.
Okay.
Let's go.
All right.
All right, good to go. Go zero up. We'll kick it on AC and then we'll check uh delta T and if that's good, we'll go go home. All right, pressures look good. We got low side 137, high set 305, um Vat 48, LSAT 97, and delta T 20°.
Good to go. Let me take one.
Oh my goodness.
Three. All right.
Um, sorry.
Put these cats back on.
I got to change that.
See, that's so stupid, dude. I swear.
Anyways. Okay.
All right, guys. Um, not too bad. Pressures look good. Delta T look good. Um, that's it for today or this week. Um, why are we going so slow?
I got an hour drive back home. Back to home.
Yeah, I got an hour drive back to my home. Um, like I said, this is it for today. Uh, thank you guys for watching. I'm not working tomorrow, so this will probably be uploaded Friday or Saturday.
But yeah, thank you guys so much for the support. You guys have been killing it with the uh the subscribes, subscriptions, and uh the likes. And yeah, you have any questions, uh just leave a comment. Um if you have any questions on how to how I started or what you think could help or whatever, you know, just comment it. I'll be more than happy to answer your questions.
Anyways, thank you guys for watching.
Hope you guys have a good weekend. I am on call this weekend, but it's supposed to pour hopefully.
Um, but we'll see. I might pick this up over the weekend or on Memorial Day cuz I do work Memorial Day. Just me cuz I'm on the phone. All right, guys. Bye-bye.
