Turns Out Something Was Living in My Engineโฆ ๐ณAdded:
Hey guys, welcome back to the channel.
Um, as you can see I am in the hood of my truck. I wish I would have turned this on a second sooner because all of a sudden my truck started throwing owie a whole bunch of codes.
Um so we decided my dad has this really nifty code reader thing. It's freaking awesome.
Um, it's all like Bluetooth and stuff.
Freaking great. Uh but so I look into it and first thing it does is tells me to my wiring harness.
So that's what we got in here to do.
And guys, I tell you right in my engine, I don't know when I haven't used this truck enough for something to build a nest, but somebody something went in there and built a whole freaking nest.
And has obviously caused a lot of damage to my wiring harness. Let me turn this around and I'll show you guys what I'm talking about.
All right.
All right, guys. So as you can see right there, there was a huge nest. It literally took up this whole area in here. It was crazy. But as you can see some of my connectors there on my um injectors I for some reason my mouth did not want to put that out there. Um, the connectors for the injectors are chewed apart.
Little bastards.
Little [ย __ย ] bastards.
>> Need to do some wiring.
>> So yeah, now we've got two um I don't even know how we're going to replace some of that wiring cuz it's chewed all the way down to the tip of this one. Like I mean, there's not even any wire left to be able to put together there.
>> [sighs and gasps] >> Hey guys, so like I was showing you those wires, I don't I don't think they're going to be repairable.
Um, but we do have another engine that's a 5.3 um V8.
Uh, so we're going to go check those connectors, see if those connectors are any good.
Hopefully they are.
But first I need to see if I can find my my little selfie stick thing, guys, cuz my arm gets awfully tired holding the phone in place.
But, all right, wish us luck.
All right, guys, I'm I'm just going to carry you. It might be a little bit more bumpy being in my hands than the thingy.
But we're going to walk back down here, um, to the end of the driveway.
Uh, we have one of our old truck sitting down here, um, that has become a parts truck.
I cannot remember the year of it for the life of me, but it's a Chevy Silverado.
It was a very nice truck at one point, but just like any vehicle that you drive on this road, um, they come out here to die, guys. Cars come out here to die on us.
And I don't want to let my truck die. I love my truck.
So, um, as soon as I noticed the problems with it, as soon as I noticed that it was not running like it should be, uh, I I stopped driving it and, um, and so now now I've got to fix this before I can drive it cuz this little thing I paid for, or I didn't pay for yet, but I started the the free subscription on this thing, um, and it gives you like advice from real mechanics. You can even call a real mechanic and talk to them. Um, so this code reader that my dad has is freaking awesome. It's definitely worth the money.
Um, but hopefully I really, really, really, really hope that we can get this fixed without really having to spend any money on it. Um but we'll see.
All right, guys. This is not a paid sponsorship, but I wanted to show you guys a little bit of this app. Um it's really freaking cool. Uh if you're into like doing-it-yourself kind of thing, the whole DIY thing, um it shows you like step-by-step. It'll give you step-by-step like instructions if you pay for the premium membership on this thing, guys.
Um I can't remember what it said that it was, but it would probably be worth it if you do it a lot, which I might need to pay for in the future, but I'm not going to do it now.
But this thing is awesome.
All right, guys. So, I made it down here to the other truck.
Um we have quite a few vehicles around here that I've, you know, mentioned that have come out here to die.
But this was a really nice truck at one point, guys.
But then we had a there's a tree that fell across the bed at one point and completely dented in this side.
Uh let me see here.
Oh, no, it's locked.
Rick's trying to unlock the door so we can pop the hood and check the connections.
It's a lot easier when we have one of the smaller kids here to to fit through there.
I didn't want to climb in there. There's spiders.
Good news, guys. They you know, same engine, so it's the same connections, and those are the two that we need.
Um I am really hoping that there's enough wire left on the other one that this, you know, like the flat one here, like this one. I'm really hoping that on the one end my truck there's enough wire left to um be able to wire it back together, guys.
>> [sighs] >> And see, you guys can't really see much, but working on replacing the wires. There's plug number one.
At least with this.
And then we've got to replace that, and then we've got to get plug number two out of there.
And pray to God there's still enough wire to wire it back together.
But all right, guys.
Uh turn this back on when we're done.
All right, guys. It is started raining, but we've got the wiring put back together. I don't know if you can see it from the angle that I'm at right now.
Um but we've got it put all back together.
Uh I started it. It does start fine.
I've still got to take it on a test drive, but I've got to get all my tools and stuff cleaned up before they get all wet. Um so, we're going to get stuff cleaned up, and then I'm going to take it for a test drive, and we will see how it goes.
God, do I hope it works cuz All right, guys. Well, I was going to take the truck for a test drive, but um with the limited space that I was working with trying to put those connections together down there, um one might be slightly loose or something.
Uh cuz it's still running a little rough. It sounds a lot better, um but it is not um doing great yet. So, but it is raining.
Um You can see all the rain on the windshield.
So, I'm not going to get back under right now, not until it stops raining.
Cuz I don't want to stand out here in the rain and try to work on electrical on my truck.
>> [music] >> So.
Hopefully by the next video I make, this one this truck will be fixed.
So.
Um but I can't really drive it with all the misfires and stuff.
So.
So, yeah.
I'm just going to wait until this storm passes.
This weather is so weird. We had hail and snow the other day. It was crazy.
>> Yeah, y'all say.
>> It was crazy, huh, Daniel?
>> Yeah.
>> Um So, yeah, but we are I'm going to go back inside and maybe get some cleaning done, but we will see on the next one. We love you guys. Thank you for sticking in there with me. I really love and appreciate every one of you.
>> Wait.
>> Um Yep, I will.
We will talk to you soon. Bye.
For anybody that's wondering, this is what Willow's been doing pretty much the whole time that I was working on the truck.
She's even all nice and cozy, [music] comfy.
She's so sweet and cute.
Can't believe how big she's getting, guys.
This is a little bonus for any of you that stuck around to the end of the video.
Keeps wanting to go out of focus.
My camera's having a hard time focusing with the dim light.
But look how big she's getting, guys.
She's huge. And yes, I know her clothes are a little a little stained up. She's She's a mountain girl and she [music] likes to be outside.
But isn't she pretty?
All right. Once again, we love you guys.
Don't forget to like and subscribe.
And we will see you on the next one.
