[00:00:45]Yesterday, this is story of my life cool story bro time. We're having a meeting on this thing. I want to do something to kind of improve work. It's you might be asking yourself, why do you want more work? And it's because it sounded kind of fun to me, but we're having this meeting to hey, let's show you guys all what this is and get approval for it. And a co-worker who is already on board with this idea.

[00:01:10]And he starts asking all of these questions that I've covered with him.

[00:01:14]Like this should be a five seven minute meeting and it goes 30 minutes because he spends 20 minutes just talking just words coming out of his mouth, which I understand.

[00:01:24]So he starts by saying like, hey, this is a really great idea. We should do this and I'm like you like you're already on board that nobody needs your opinion really here. And he starts by explaining all of he starts to explain all the things that it can fix. He starts with it. There's just so many things that we don't have backed up or saved. And our team lead like very quickly just starts looking at him like, what are you talking about? Like this sounds very stupid that these things are a problem. Like we have places to back up everything and save everything. And it looks a lot like team lead is very patient. So, it looks a lot like David Wallace like listening to Michael Scott like, "You're clearly a but I'm just going to let you go through and believe this will work out in the end."

[00:02:09][clears throat] And so, [laughter] he's he's our our team lead asked him like, "Well, why why aren't we doing this stuff?" To which his answer was basically, "Well, it's it's hard. It's hard to do these things." And he's looking at him like, "You work is hard.

[00:02:24]And let's see. So, then he starts bringing up more stuff. We don't use the right usernames. We're running it with the wrong people. Team lead, same face. And he just won't stop talking. He won't stop saying things that are we're doing wrong or particularly he. These are not things I want to fix these problems cuz I found out that they have them.

[00:02:44]And then he was like, "Well, we have all these problems. Well, we have these passwords everywhere that they shouldn't be. And and this could solve that."

[00:02:51]So, I guess the cool story and the moral of the story is just shut up and stop talking so people don't realize you're an idiot. And I should probably end here, but for sure topic, tiny LLMs, what they are and should you use them? So, a large language model, chat GPT, anything open AI makes, Meta's llama I think, Microsoft's slot, co-pilot I guess what they call it, Gemini. They all run in the cloud. You type in the message, it goes through the internet, and then it comes back with your answer. Tiny LLMs are made to be very small versions that can run on like your laptop. Now, should you be using them? What's the benefit? You get a little bit more privacy. What's the downside? They take up some setup. And so, if you're hearing about this, you're like, "That sounds neat. I wonder what that works like." then it's it's probably not for you. If you're sitting here like, "Oh, that sounds like really cool technology. I wonder why I haven't tried that out yet." then maybe you're the kind of person who might enjoy it.

[00:03:48]And there's clip out there Mark Zuckerberg telling his employees, the Facebook groups that they're very smart and they're watching them and using their data to help train AI.

[00:03:58]And this is during a meeting where they're starting, you know, they're talking about how everybody's worried about layoffs. And today I'm I'm a little annoyed with this, but this is what's happening. So I wanted to do a breakdown of ads and Vegas nights as the as the series is coming up. However, something else happened. I was going through the most sanitized words again, phrases, topics from YouTube and I stumbled upon a couple things for Venezuela both and a different September date than the 11th of September, which is how you say it in news speak, September 2nd, 2025. So as usual, just a quick disclaimer, we try to use Gemini as much as we can sometimes to make this to make our life work right now. That's kind of what I'm learning over the course of this rambling times that I post. And so AI is giving us the script and it comes back to really quickly AI is not good at a lot.

[00:04:57]I use AI a lot for a lot of my work for coding, programming, building applications. It does some really good things. Writing a script, I let it use a lot of time, a lot of I don't know what you call energy, token, subscription to try and write this and tell it like, "Hey, try and use my voice or try and, you know, make it it's clear, but try and make it something someone could listen to." And I don't know if it really did that, but here we go.

[00:05:22]September 2nd, 2025, United States attacked a small vessel believed to be transporting drugs ultimately resulting in the boat sinking. And again, these are this is a story that all I could find was like three minute news clips.

[00:05:35]And the further I dug, the the only real in-depth thing I could find had like 30 views and it was really good.

[00:05:56]I think he made a channel just with the intent of being angry. So, if you're ever looking someone to rant and rave about um, immigrations and custom enforcement, then you should go check out his video on that. Because boy, was he cranky. So, that's that's where it kind of came up of that's the only one I could find where this wasn't like a sanitized topic. So, um, boat sinking. The detail that transformed this from a standard incident, maritime incident, then into a global controversy is the status of the passengers. According to reports, two individuals aboard the sinking vessel after it was attacked were completely un-opped. In the immediate aftermath of the fake fog of war, settlements for the event questions poured in regarding who authorized the strike, what the rules of engagement were, and how two unarmed individuals became the target of lethal force. The undeniable reality of what happened forces us to shift our focus from tactical military maneuvers to the strict frameworks of international law.

[00:06:48]Almost immediately after the sinking, the phrase war crime began to trending worldwide. But, from a legal standpoint, what is likelihood that this event meets that severe classification? Under international humanitarian law, there's a foundational rule known as the principle of distinction. This demands that armed forces forces must distinguish between combatants and non-combatants. Furthermore, attacking individuals who are incapacitated or outside the fight, such as people on a sinking ship, is prohibited.

[00:07:17]Because the individuals were unarmed, legal experts note that the likelihood of this being classified as a war crime is high provided the investigations prove the attackers knew. I don't think there's any investigations ongoing about this. Or should have known their targets were civilians. And they were not civilians. Well, they they might have been It really They weren't in a war and they didn't expect to get bombed. Or just hit by a drone strike or whatever.

[00:07:42]Uh, defense perspectives point to the complexities of modern conflicts. They argue that if there was a severe intelligence failure or case of mistaken identity, it might be classified as a catastrophic operational failure rather than a deliberate war crime. Proving a war crime ultimately requires proving intent, which I found interesting. The ripples of this incident also sparked a deeply polarizing debate regarding the American government itself. Following the attack, conversations about a dictator in the USA became a focal point of discourse. So, for critics the September incident, September 2nd, 2025 incident is viewed as a symptom of unchecked executive executive and military power. From this viewpoint, if a state apparatus can utilize severe lethal force against unarmed individuals without transparency, it mirrors the actions of an authoritarian regime.

And if you go back to that guy, um, let's see, Matthew Ball, A, Bella, Bella, he covers this in depth as a topic, this specific um, incident. And it is actually interesting because he does slightly say, like, "Hey, what's going on near this country?" And "Is something going to happen?" And this was, I think, like, December 13th or something was when the video was uploaded. So, fog of war, proving a war crime requires proving intent, which I found was an interesting thing in itself. I don't think I'll ever cover that topic, but um, intent is a hard thing to prove, right? Like, uh, uh there's a big debate about hate crimes. Well, how do I know if I murdered someone because I am against a race or religion, or if I just murdered someone? You know, how do I prove their intent? Fog of War, which was brought up a lot in defense of this.

[00:09:53]I don't think there was realistically a Fog of War, but it is interesting how easy it is to claim that because in what war is everything clear, right? Fog of War probably exists at all times.

[00:10:05]There's also a training video from, I think, World War II covering like the need to be ruthless in war because it was a bunch of like young men from like go-get-'em good morals backgrounds where they were like, "Look, the the rules of a baseball game don't apply when you're in a war, right? Like, there's not a good sportsmanship award. There's basically like you're dying in battle or you're coming back." Those are usually kind of your black and white options.

[00:10:34]Free press, speech, and real elections, I think that becomes really important in this topic to discuss regarding a dictatorship and the fall of a republic, and I think those are things better left to another day, but I think they're definitely ones that, uh free press, speech, real elections are important to keep in mind.
