Five charged with youth's murder in Ipoh

[00:00:02]Five men were charged at the EPO magistrate's court on Wednesday with the murder of an 18-year-old youth in Tanjong Rambutan last week. SKC Saktel, Ketuchelan, Shashi Pal Singh, Manmuan Singh, and Taneshwaran and P. Ukiran were charged before magistrate Norisan Riddan under section 302 of the penal code for murder. The five men together with another suspect still at large are accused of murdering 18-year-old SK Karishnan near the Shri Subramanar temple on Jalan Purpuan southward between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. on May 12th. No plea was recorded as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the high court. No bail was offered with the case mentioned set for July 20th pending a post-mortem report. It was reported that the youth's death was believed to be the result of a dispute linked to cable theft activities.
