Pop Art Portrait: Artist Melissa and California Tree Poppies
Added:All right, this work in progress is my newest pop art portrait.
This will be a two-part video. So, part two will be the final reveal. And I'll also tell you the story behind the work and how it came about.
It's really unique for me. You know, it was very fun. So, but what I can tell you is this painting is of another artist. Her name is Melissa.
And her favorite flower is California tree poppy.
Which I incorporated into this work. I literally just finished it. I still have to mount it and put wax on it.
And that video will be next week. But, here's the painting.
But, I'll give all the details on the part two.
So, as always, take care of your loved ones.
Appreciate everyone's kind comments.
I'll talk to you later.
Cheers. And here's the time lapse.
She walks downtown in a vintage coat straight from a pop art [music] painting.
Red jacket, black lines, comic [music] book soul like Roy Lichtenstein. Brought [singing] to life like California tree poppies pressed inside [music] a favorite book.
She says, "Beauty should feel timeless, [music] not something people overlook."
Bright lights, long nights, city shadows glowing neon lights. She finds [music] poetry in small things, flowers blooming quietly.
She loves wild California [music] poppies water against the western sky.
Soft petals dancing in the sunlight like little pieces [music] of summertime in that old pop art jacket. It makes her feel like a kid.
>> [music] >> Red lipstick and rainy streets, vinyl spinning [music] softly in the dark. She says, "Flowers don't compete.
They just [music] bloom the way [singing] they are."
Everybody wants attention.
Everybody wants the scene. [music] She just wants white flowers on the table and a little [singing] room to breathe.
Paint a dream in late cafe. [singing] She reminisces ordinary days like art, hanging in a gallery, turning simple [singing] into memories.
>> [music] >> She loves wild California [music] poppies while again
