They were so terrified by the black vote during those 12 years of reconstruction that the Ku Klux Klan was absolutely determined to says, we cannot give cuz at the time the South still had a obviously the majority of black people were still in the South and there were areas which black people outnumber. So, they were easily able to take over the governance based on our democratic system. The Ku Klux Klan hated that and their reason for terror was to stop the black vote. Most people have never heard that the terror was to stop the black vote because the vote in the areas where we had numbers gave us the power to to run our areas the way that we did. That wasn't a majority of black people.
