Venus, despite being called Earth's twin, has a surface environment that is one of the most hostile in the solar system, characterized by atmospheric pressure 92 times greater than Earth's (equivalent to 900 meters underwater), surface temperatures averaging 465°C due to a runaway greenhouse effect caused by carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid clouds trapping solar energy, and a continuous layer of pure sulfuric acid clouds at altitudes of 45-70 km with winds reaching 360 km/h that circle the planet every four Earth days.

VENUS | The Real Surface is a Nightmare追加:
Let's start with the atmosphere.
Because before you even reach the surface, Venus will try to kill you in three completely different ways.
The first is pressure.
At the surface of Venus, atmospheric pressure is 92 times greater than on Earth.
That's [snorts] equivalent to being 900 m underwater in our oceans.
Your body wouldn't be crushed. It would be obliterated instantly. [music] The second is heat.
The surface temperature averages 465° C.
Not because Venus is close to the Sun.
Mercury is closer and its surface is far cooler.
Venus is so hot because of a runaway [music] greenhouse effect.
Carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid clouds trap solar energy so efficiently that heat simply cannot escape.
Ever. Think about that.
A planet [music] that has been slowly cooking itself for billions of years.
The third threat is the clouds themselves.
From about 45 to 70 km altitude, Venus is wrapped in a continuous layer of sulfuric acid droplets.
Not mildly acidic.
Pure sulfuric acid.
The kind that dissolves metal on contact.
And the winds up there at cloud level can reach 360 km/h.
The entire cloud layer circles the planet every four Earth days.
Below the clouds at the surface, winds slow to a gentle breeze.
But it doesn't matter. It's still 465°.
