Cayetano faces suspension if ‘command responsibility’ applies in Senate gunfire incident – Matiba

[00:00:13]NBI Director Melvin Matibag pushed back against calls for his preventive suspension over the gunfire incident at the Senate. Matibag says Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano should also face suspension if command responsibility would be used as a basis for accountability. The NBI chief argued that the office of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms falls under the supervision of the Senate leadership.

[00:00:39]Matibag made the remark in response to Cayetano's appeal to the office of the Ombudsman to suspend him following the incident. The controversy stemmed from the May 13 chaos at the Senate. An NBI driver allegedly linked to the gunfire incident was arrested. The Senate Sergeant-at-Arms had admitted he was the first to fire a warning shot.
