They expect the protection of international law, but find only shouting guards and a blinding sun. The soldiers are forced onto a dusty road, told to march toward an unknown destination.

There is no water, no food, and absolutely no [music] mercy from their captors. When a man stumbles, he is shoved forward by rifle butts. The prisoners realize the rules of war have been abandoned. Those who fall behind are left in the dust or worse. The march continues for 65 miles of pure agony.
