[00:00:00]What is going on everyone? Joe here and today we are jumping into Spiritfall, a action rogue light inspired by platform fighters like Smash Brothers in Brawlhalla. This game came out about 2 years ago. I heard some really good things about it. You guys have recommended it many times, but I never got around to playing it. So, we're going to jump in, see how far we can get, and just have some fun with it.

[00:01:36]So, immediately I'm getting some pretty hardcore Metroid Vania vibes. We got a hammer. Okay, I've said this before, but a hammer is my favorite weapon in any game. It all started with Monster Hunter. Neutral attack, side attack, up attack, and down attack.

[00:01:55]Oh, we're really going through everything. So, a launcher. I can hold this down, charge it up.

[00:02:01]We can launch you up and then launch you down.

[00:02:06]Neutral air. Side air. Make sure we hit the dummy and then down air.

[00:02:15]Oh, we can dash wherever we want. That's cool. I got full control over this. We got a bolt.

[00:02:22]Oh, it goes on. cool down. I see down below in the bottom left, we can see all of our abilities. So, I've got that projectile we can shoot you around with and then we can descend.

[00:02:32]So, I will say right out of the gate, this game reminds me a ton of another platform fighter called Brawlhalla. It came out a long time ago. It's got a ton of content.

[00:02:44]It was a little floaty, but it was a ton of fun to play, especially with like a billion different modes.

[00:02:57]Hello, ice bear. Freezing launcher. Your launcher deals more damage and inflicts frost on enemies for 7 seconds. Your attack deals more damage and inflicts frost on enemies for 6 seconds. Your bolt is an ice bomb that explodes on contact or after 1.5 seconds. Enemies damaged are inflicted with frost for 7 seconds. I feel like I kind of want to buff up my basic attack. 50% damage boost is no joke. And then slowing them down. Let's go for that.

[00:03:31]All right. We got a ton of stuff. We can go to Vitality Crest or Relic Chest. So, I'm assuming Vitality Crest either heals us or gives us more health. I'm not sure what's inside of the chest.

[00:03:50]There's a wolf and whatever that red thing is. Let's go to the right. Let's get this chest and maybe we go see the bear again and grab another frost upgrade. See if we can't specialize. All right, we got more enemies.

[00:04:13]Nice. Okay, it's going to take some getting used to, especially with the aerial stuff because I feel like with the hammer, we're kind of heavy. I can get a piece of paper, a tablet, combat rune. Okay, a special resource that will be preserved even when you perish. In the right hands, these runes can be used to both create and reinforce weapons of great power. Okay, so I need this to make new weapons.

[00:04:39]I definitely want that. Once per room, become invincible for 3.5 seconds after getting hit. Plus two air jumps. Wait.

[00:04:48]Oh my god, we can fly. All right. Well, that's that's crazy. This was great. All right, let's go. We got Mishvid or Kellum, but I want to go back to the bear. And then I think I'm going to grab another chest cuz that chest was awesome.

[00:05:11]Once I get used to actually hitting you, cuz that's something I'm struggling with right now.

[00:05:17]The hit stun is nuts. If they're about to attack me, just smack them first, cuz that seems to cancel everything they do.

[00:05:26]Mishvad, my boy. Freezing dash. Your dash deals damage and inflicts frost on enemies for 4 seconds. While near the edge of a platform, your launcher has increased damage and knock back. Frost now stacks up to five times, but only slows the enemy once. However, it may glaciate non-boss enemies when applied.

[00:05:47]Glaciate. Enemy is unable to move or attack for 3 seconds. Launching it into walls kills it instantly so he can freeze it, smack it into a wall, and shatter it. That's cool, but I'm going to grab the freezing dash cuz I'm thinking we launch them up, we jump around, we dash through them. Let's go full on ice here.

[00:07:57]Dormant ember. Oh, it is charcoal. A special resource that will be preserved even when you perish. can be used to strengthen the perennial flame and unlock permanent skills that can aid you on your journey. So, there's a bunch of stuff we want to try to collect.

[00:08:20]Gain a base chance to deal critical damage. Your bolt is a howl that deals damage in a radius around you and inflicts three stacks of wounded.

[00:08:30]Wounded target has a 3% chance per stack to receive critical damage. I see. So that just makes it more likely for us to do crits. I feel like I don't want to specialize my bolt to that. I think just going for a base crit chance might be the smartest thing to do here, especially while I'm still figuring things out, right?

[00:28:23]Once I realized that all three of them do the exact same thing and they're interchanging their abilities, I knew I needed to focus down the archer and ignore the other guy and then I would have room to breathe. But then he popped out that laser beam move and I did not I did not know what to do about that. All right, more attack speed, more attack damage.

[00:28:44]Your perfect launcher deals plus 20% damage. You fall slower while charging your launcher in the air. I didn't even realize I could do that cuz we still have that beam that I'm not even using.

[00:29:01]Any launcher you hit while airborne deals plus 30% damage. When you hit an enemy with a perfect launcher, it receives plus 50% damage. Well, I mean, that combos well with that beam we've got.

[00:29:19]Man, I should have not gotten the attack speed. I should have gotten the perfect launcher. Deals more damage comboed with precision blow. So, we'd have a perfect launcher combo build essentially. All right, let's go ahead and grab the precision blow. Man, I got I got adrenaline flowing through me. I was not challenged until that room and and it really ramped up. So, we have the luminous gem, but I want to see what this vitality crest is.

[00:29:46]I also don't know what the holy dice does either. There's a ton of stuff we haven't really seen yet. We don't have Oh, there is a new spirit. It's like a raccoon on the right side.

[00:35:48]You're not wrong, but the launcher doesn't do anything when they've got armor. The problem is the all the hit stun is removed when they have armor.

[00:35:55]That's why I defaulted to trying to use my basic attack more than anything. So, I could try to get their armor away, then group them up and get the multi hits. But granted, it was my first time ever playing this game. I think we did pretty well. I'm I'm happy that we were able to knock out that second boss. So, that was enough for me.
