Fixing the Swing of the Sawmill

[00:00:10]With the uh board remover, this uh wire got loose and messed up. So, see right here how there's a gap.

[00:00:19]So, I gap right there. I didn't have one before and this was bottoming out before the limit. the switch was being hit. So, this motor is was being um this motor here was being overpowered. I mean, it was being burned up putting pressure on this whenever I had it going all the way this way. Um and there's only one setting that does that, so it's not a big deal, but I made that gap and then I tightened up this cable so that everything moves smoothly. I got to check the fluid in this. Um I got to rotate it to do that.

[00:01:50]See when you go as a swing blade swings right. It's in the horizontal position now. So lately as I've been doing the vertical and it sat for a while here this winter and uh had it covered and it was running good and then I I'm not quite sure when this happened but I've started getting just a real big like really really slow and then it then it really dies and I have to come up here and I have to assist it and push it.

[00:02:22]Okay. So, essentially here's the mechanism.

[00:02:27]It slides right here and then it has two bearings that ride on this. This thing kind of swings bearings ride on on like kind of like a curved lockout that swings this whole carriage here. And then here's a here's a switch here for this side. And then there's a switch on this side and that's what keeps it for how far it should the throw should go. And then you can adjust the chains here. These are adjustments for how tight the bearings are up and down. So as you see it and then there's a big spring.

[00:03:27]So, it's pretty good. You want them to be pretty tight.

[00:03:31]Um I don't think that's the issue. Um I think it's the motor has no power.

[00:03:42]I've already done all the amperage checks here. So, it'll lock out right here. It won't even do it. Just can't.

[00:03:50]So, I think this motor is just not I switched this motor with another one because that one originally went out.

[00:03:56]That's that motor requires a lot of torque over there. 129.

[00:05:30]Well, well, well. Okay, so that didn't go as planned. I adjusted these chains and I got them way too tight and then it threw the bearing the sprocket off the bearing. So, I just took the time to take it all apart here. Here we go.
