Google Just Turned Everything Into AIAdded:
Google just introduced 22 new AI updates at the Google IO events, one of the biggest AI events they've ever held. And they started with the biggest change to Google search in 25 years. And I'm going to cover all those 22 updates. The first one is a new search box inside of Google search. I'll show you this. This is available as of today. So instead of just googling things, you now use this just like you would use chat GPT or Google Gemini. It allows you to expand what you type in. And on top of that, you could upload videos, you could upload files, you could upload images and add that to the context of your search. So now when you Google something, you could press the plus sign and add different things to go with the context. You could choose different Gemini models. We'll get to the new models here in a second. And then you could press AI mode and it will send this out in a whole new format. Now, AI mode has been there, but it's becoming the default now inside of Google search.
The next update is a brand new model they just rolled out called Gemini 3.5 Flash. So, the flash model is their fast model, but this new flash model is so good that it actually outperforms the Gemini 3.1 Pro model. This is the best model they have available today. Well, 3.5 flash is faster and better than that one and is four times faster than the other Frontier model. So, if you want a fast model, especially if you're a developer, you're building with Gemini, this might be a really good model to go to. It's going to be faster, cheaper, and just as good as these top Frontier models. So, if you jump into Gemini, you'll see 3.5 Flash. That's going to be the new model here. And they also released a lighter version 3.1 flash light for much faster answers, but this is the one I would probably leave on default at all times right now. And then you have Gemini 3.5 Pro. So the Pro model always has been the very best model Google has. 3.1 Pro is the one that's available today. 3.5 Pro is coming out next month. Now, this is going to be the best reasoning model available. most likely it's going to beat out the best model from Claude and the best model from Chat GPD once it does roll out. But we will see. I'll make a dedicated video testing this out versus the other top models as soon as I have access. And since Gemini has new models, I also wanted to share a free resource with you to get a crash course in using Gemini and elevating your workspace with Gemini. And this guide will cover all kinds of different things you could do with Gemini right now, including prompts to help you create better copy, better social media post, better landing pages. It will show you how to actually use Gemini to extract information from things like spreadsheets. So, if you haven't used Gemini for a while, I think with these new models, it's really going to catch up with Claude and with Chat GPT. I think with the pro model, he might also become number one. So, I thought it was a good time to give you a crash course here to catch you up with Gemini. And this is a quick five-minute guide you could download right now. I'll put a link in the description. You could get it for free. Now, another one that's coming out in the summer is this new information agent. So, Google alerts rebuild with the Frontier models. They run 247 and ping you only when something actually matches what you've asked. So, if you haven't used Google alerts before, you could set up a term and anytime someone looks up that term, especially now with things like AI, well, it will ping you for that. that got a brand new update called information agents. The way booking things on Google is also going to change. Something again coming out this summer. So, you tell search exactly what you need, including the price, the time, the place, the vibe that you're looking for. And it gives you direct options for booking with links. And Google can also call businesses on your behalf. So, if you're doing things like let's say you want someone to do home repairs for you, well, this will call different services and try to book that for you. Next, you have something called generative visual answers. So, when you search with this new AI mode inside of Google search, it can create answers for you. So, it could create interactive charts and graphs and widgets and it formats it based on your question, right? Not just finding you things that already exist. This will create these type of things based on your prompt. Now, this is probably the biggest search update. This could literally make mini apps and dashboards based on your search. So, as you are searching in Google, you could ask it for example to create a fitness routine for you and it will build a mini app and help you track things based on your fitness routine that it creates for you.
Now, number eight is there is a new model from Google called Google Omni.
And Google Omni is a multimodal creation model. So if you've ever used Nano Banana inside of Gemini, that turns a text prom into an image. Well, this starts with a video first. Omni is a video generation model first, but it's easily editable as well. Now, Omni is available today, but I have a dedicated video coming up all about Gemini Omni model. At number nine, you have an update called Gemini Spark. So, this is going to be a personalized agent here that lives across all the different apps and it runs on the new AI model 3.5 flash. So, this will be able to do a lot of different things for you. Now, this one is actually coming out this week. If you have the AI Ultra plan, so I'll have to resubscribe back to AI Ultra. I actually cancelled mine recently, but I'll resubscribe to it so I could cover this in an upcoming video. This should be really really helpful here because it could look across all your Google products here and work as an AI agent across all that like Gmail and Google Docs and calendar. Inside of the Gemini app, you also have a daily brief. So, this is going to be a personalized morning digest pull from all your content, right? So, it's personalized.
It comes from your Gmail, your calendar, and it summarize things that you might have missed here. Suggest what to do next. So these are things I already do inside of chat GPT and even claude by using connectors and having it plan my day. Chat GPT agents could do something like this. But again, this is inside of the Google ecosystem. Gemini, by the way, is already almost at a billion users. Then you have something called universal cart. So this is a cart that could follow you across different things. So sometimes you go to search, you look for something, and then you might abandon that cart. Well, this could show up again in Gemini or in YouTube in Gmail. So, it tracks deals, price drops, restock, compatibility issues, and checkout whenever you're ready in any of these apps. Now, Gmail live is also rolling out. I don't have access to this one. This one's going to be in the Google Workspace here, but you could talk to your Gmail inbox, right?
So, you could ask it questions about your upcoming flight, for example, and it will read out the answer for you.
They also released the same thing inside of Google Docs. Docs live speak your thoughts. Gemini structures the draft.
So there's plenty of AI tools that do this pretty well right now. Whisper flow being one of them, but this pulls relevant context from your Gmail drive and chat. And it will only do that when you give it permission. So less copy and pasting back and forth. You just dictate and it will kind of structure for you in a Google Docs format. Now Google Keep is another Google product. This one I don't use myself, but you could actually now add voice notes to Google Keep. So you just speak a voice note and it will go ahead and clean that up for you and save it in Google Keep. Now you have AI inbox next. That's number 15. That's inside of Gmail. So it will basically help you use AI to sort what's most important. So the important stuff shows up first like this. Then the timesensitive stuff shows up on top and then everything else shows up later. So this makes it easier to draft replies, surface files that you need when you need it and you don't have to change how your inbox looks. This will take care of that for you. Now, next one is Google Pix. This is a brand new image creation and image editing platform. This is powered by Nano Banana. So, there's another platform they have called Google Flow which they've had updates to. That's for video. So, Google Pix is going to be for photos. Obviously, both of those could be used inside of Gemini, but this creates a dedicated space that has more options. Next is a brand new search box inside of YouTube. So, I showed you the Google one. Ask YouTube is going to change how YouTube search is done. So instead of having something that is based on keywords, you will get it to feel more like a prompt box where you could give it more context here and it will give you direct answers with deep links to exact moments in the video. So we'll see how this actually affects watch time on videos because well if you get the direct answer maybe you won't watch the video. So, it might be bad for how-to videos, which I've been making how-to videos for almost 9 years across my different channels on YouTube. So, this is something I'm really looking forward to, but at the same time, we'll see how it affects those type of channels. Now, in this same conference, they also released updates to Android here. So, if you have an Android, you could take a look at these slides here.
They also had something called Android Halo. This is an Android interface that shows what your agent is actually doing live. So this is more AI focused. As agents do more work in the background, people need to actually see what's going on, right? So when you order Uber, for example, or Door Dash, you want to see where the driver is. This is kind of showing you how the agent is working but with a user interface. Now, anti-gravity, I've covered in a different video the anti-gravity 1.0, the first time it came around. An anti-gravity is basically a vibe coding platform or a platform for developers too where you can type in a text prompt and create things and the coding will be done autonomously in the background. So they have a brand new version of it anti-gravity 2.0 which I will cover in an upcoming video here. Now Google flow also got a big update here. So they released the Gemini Omni model into that one. the one I mentioned that is great for video generation that is going to be inside of Google Flow. Veo is still going to be inside of Google Flow. Nano Bananas inside of Google Flow. So if you do any type of creative work, Google Flow is definitely worth a look. And then you have Flow Music. So with the Omni model, you could also generate music. So that's going to be coming to the Android app soon as well and in iOS.
So to recap, you got three models that came out of this conference. So, you got 3.5 Flash, 3.5 Pro coming out, and the Omni model for generating videos that are also editable with a follow-up prompt. Then you have the entire agentic workflow they're rolling out across everything. So, this is going to change how you do search, how you book things, how you create things in anti-gravity.
So, they're changing everything to be AI agents first. And they've added voice to your Google Workspace. So now with Gmail live and Docs live you could basically talk to those apps and get insights directly with voice. And I think by far the biggest update in 25 years of using Google they are now changing how googling works with a brand new search box. Let me know what you think of the new search box. I'd love to hear your thoughts about that and I'll see you on the next
