[00:00:03]This is the Franciscana [music] dolphin, also called the La Plata dolphin. A small, shy dolphin living along the coast of [music] South America. It has a long, thin beak and moves through shallow waters, bays, estuaries, and coastal zones.

[00:00:17]It hunts small [music] fish, squid, and shrimp. But it is so quiet and hidden that many people [music] never know it exists.

[00:00:24]But living close to shore is dangerous.

[00:00:27]Fishing nets are everywhere.

[00:00:28]And when Franciscana dolphins [music] get caught in gill nets, many never escape. Bycatch is the biggest threat to this rare coastal dolphin.

[00:00:36]The Franciscana [music] dolphin is not famous, but it is one of South America's most threatened dolphins. If these waters stay [music] full of invisible traps, this coastal ghost could disappear silently.
