[00:00:00]And welcome back. Your time now on WJZ Mornings is 6:11. There's the WJZ Outback, as you can see, everything is still holding on to its green colors for now, but it's It's a tough stretch here for our plants. A lot of heat stress on them, and there's your number one reason for it.

[00:00:18]This sun is a powerhouse sun from the WJZ Observatory. This is our tower camera posted up on top of our transmitter, getting this glorious sunrise here. And really, what you need to know is if you're going to get anything done outside, the easiest time of day to do it is between now and let's say 10:00 in the morning, and then let's say after probably about 6:00 in the evening through about 9:00 in the evening. And we have some of that extra daylight or twilight here to work off of. During the middle of the day, just take some breaks and really listen to your body. So, scorching heat today and tomorrow. An alert day tomorrow here. The reason why is we could have some thunderstorms, and this is during the prime outdoor time of day here for the kids after school with activities and stuff going on here, and also for your evening commute. So, just keep an eye to the sky. Not everybody will get severe weather out of this.

[00:01:15]Rain on and off into Memorial Day weekend. What a turnaround with our weather. We couldn't buy a drop of rain for weeks and weeks and weeks, and then Memorial Day weekend comes around, and then it wants to just rain every single day. So, just how it shakes out some years. So, upper 90s today, 95 with scorching weather to stormy weather here tomorrow, and then on and off rain Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. And as we get closer to that period, we'll be able to give you more defined windows of time. It's still way too early, but we'll try to give you some windows of some drier weather mixed in between to help you plan those Memorial Day weekend plans. We do have air quality alerts in effect for Kent, Queen Anne's County, Cecil County, and Arundel County here for high levels of ozone. Code orange once again. [00:02:10]It is a bit humid now. The humidity like yesterday will mix out during the afternoon. So, it almost feels like opening up an oven door. Mid to upper 90s here for your highs. Classic Bermuda high situation pumping up that heat.

[00:02:23]Now, in addition to the heat drying out here for this afternoon, you'll have a nice gusty wind. But like I said, it almost feels like the desert outside with those winds gusting 15 to 25 mph.

Can you rule out a straight storm? Never in this kind of heat. But most places will be dry. And this is what I mean. If you can get some yard work done tonight, maybe cut the grass. The reason why I'm saying this, once the storms get here tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow evening, we'll talk about this alert day possible here in the uh super 7-day coming up.
