Chloe Carlson's 6 a.m. Forecast | NEXT WeatherAdded:
Hi. Uh but yes, whatever you were having at the fair, just enjoy it. Okay, you're walking around, you're burning calories, and it's going to be a beautiful weekend if you want to head out. Just keep in mind, stay hydrated. Okay, I'm sure they have those uh big waters you can order, so get the corn on the cob, the funnel cake, and then a large water as well, because it is going to be a very warm weekend for us. We have this ridge of high pressure over the Southwest. Yeah, that is going to keep us toasty, so it's going to be feeling more like August this weekend than really May. We do have the May gray though, I will say out this morning. Take a look at this though, for the IE, 91 for the high today, and I'm saying it's getting hot, you're like, it's getting hotter than that. Well, yeah, take a look at Monday. That's right, folks, triple digits in the forecast for us for the IE. So, it is going to be warm, especially for inland areas. Uh the coastal areas, we get a little bit of that sea breeze and that marine layer, so it keeps you a little bit cooler. But for the IE, it is going to be a toasty one for us today. So, uh keep that in mind for your weekend plans. The next 4 hours for Irvine, like I said, we have a little bit of that morning fog with us this morning. So, this is the time to get outside if you like to go for your morning walk, a run, or bike ride, whatever it may be. And now's the time to get outside. We're 62° at the 7:00 hour. We're staying in the 60s actually through 10:00 a.m., and then that sun will start to peek through as we get into the 9:00 hour, but a gorgeous start to our Saturday this morning. And then of course, it is Mother's Day weekend. I got your weekend forecast cuz we can celebrate Mom on Saturday and Sunday. Here's a look for your forecast for the IE. So, like I said, a 91 today, temperatures just climbing a little bit day by day for us.
So, 90s today, we're going to be mid-90s by Sunday. So, keep that in mind for your moms. If you want to take them to Palm Springs, to the to the not the not the beach, but to the pools there, keep in mind, uh it is going to be triple digits for the uh Coachella Valley. So, again, we're tracking a heat advisory for some areas. Let me break down what's happening in our upper atmosphere, why we're seeing these warm temperatures. We have this ridge of high pressure, like said, over the Southwest.
It's going to continue to build as we get into this weekend. So, again, by Monday, which is looking to be the warmest day for us over the course of the next 7 days, the ridge of high pressure will be right over Southern California here. So, again, temperatures peaking Monday. That's why the triple digits in the forecast. That'll start to push east, break down because the influence of this low pressure system.
I'm not really bringing us rain, but it'll bring us back that onshore flow and cool us down slightly. So, here's a look at that future cast just to show you we do have that a little bit of that morning fog, marine layer with us this morning. That'll start to burn off by the afternoon. Temperatures right now, 63 for downtown Los Angeles, we're low 60s along the coast and then here are your highs today. So, for Woodland Hills, 84° for Van Nuys, 93. As we look to the IE, 92 in Hemet, 91 in Riverside.
Like I said, the coast with that sea breeze, you're staying in the low 70s.
That's the place to be today, okay?
Here's a look at your next 7 days for the LA/OC metro area. So, 70s today, we are 80s come Sunday, staying in the 80s Monday. That onshore flow will take us back to the 70s come Tuesday. I'll talk more about that heat coming up. For now, Amanda and Jeff, I'll send it back to you.
