When superhero characters possess overwhelming powers, narrative consistency requires that their abilities be applied logically throughout the story; inconsistent application of powers (such as a character with super speed being unable to catch a villain running to the next room) undermines the character's credibility and the story's internal logic.

The CW Flash Forgot He Has Super SpeedAdded:
When I think about absolute incompetence, I am talking pure and utter inability to critically think or solve problems even when the answer is right in front of you. I think about the CW writers, but more importantly, I think about the CW Flash, a man whose powers rival anybody that you could imagine. yet also a man whose brain is the size of a peanut and who struggles to solve the most basic criminal activities. And that's exactly what we're going to be looking at in today's video, just how disrespectfully the CW Flash was done by the writers.
So, to understand just exactly how hard this man is nerfed, you have to understand his power set. We're talking about super speed obviously where the show will consistently tell you that this man is sitting around Mach 10 to 12 absolute cap. If you look at his feats, he is near to above light speed on a pretty consistent basis. He has super strength because force equals mass times acceleration. And the man's moving at light speed, so obviously the acceleration is ridiculous. And that force is going to lead to punches that feel like getting hit by a white dwarf star. Super durability as well. The speed force allows his body to withstand these insane speeds. A genius IQ. And this is pretty constantly contradicted because based on the way this guy acts, you would think it is room temperature.
And he also has a pep talk buff. gets a 50% power up anytime he hears a speech from Iris specifically about the power of love. That really gets this guy going. But trust me, this is where it gets absolutely insane. He has the ability to phase his body, basically vibrating at high speeds, which changes his molecular structure. This theoretically makes him impossible to touch. I mean, in season nine, the guy literally absorbed a nuclear bomb by phasing, and I guess he absorbed the radiation as well without any negative side effects. I mean, that's absolutely ridiculous power. He can time travel, which is kind of limited due to timeline issues, although he does it literally every other episode. So, I don't think the timeline gets too compromised by these activities. And finally, he has flash time. This literally ruined the entire show. It allows him to move in super speed while time is already frozen. In season 4, the first time we're introduced to it, a nuclear bomb takes hours and hours to detonate in this mode. And his stamina takes a long time to drain. He can keep moving in flash time for hours. So theoretically, nothing is touching this guy. And this is the exact problem with these powers.
He should be essentially invincible to anyone other than similar tier speedsters. But they consistently give this man selective room temperature IQ.
One moment he's using flash time to solve complex equations applied to realworld problems like figuring out how to stop a nuclear bomb that's already exploded. The next moment, the villain of the week is escaping him by running to the next room. We pretty consistently see that he cannot win a fight without an Iris pep talk. uh calls himself the fastest man alive, but consistently gets speedmonged by pretty much everybody. I mean, you can escape this guy by walking to the next room, and he won't even try to catch you. Uh his rogues gallery is a joke. Uh this is also a problem in the comments. Uh with this guy's powers, he can't be matched up against your average Joe with a cold gun and have it make any sense. Like, come on. Captain Boomerang, giving him the work is ridiculous. And I mean, the majority of this guy's rogues gallery don't even have superpowers. You give them a high-tech gun and somehow they're competing with the fastest man alive. It's ridiculous. To prove my point, I'm going to walk you through the average Flash combat encounter. This applies to I would say at least 60 to 70% of his fights where it begins with him running up to the villain at super speed, stopping 5T in front of them and beginning to talk and proceeding to get brutalized because he doesn't simply knock them out immediately.
or the villain will use a distraction or a barrier uh run to the next room at absolutely normal speed and Barry will run 5 m forward and then claim that he simply cannot catch them. That exact structure may happen two to three times in the span of a singular episode and then we get to the final encounter.
Barry complains he isn't fast enough to solve whatever problem is presented in front of him. It could literally be anything. And the solution every single time is an Iris pep talk where Barry gains 50 IQ points and his speed increases by 100%. Uh they tell him he needs to run faster and that's exactly what he does. He either beats up the villain of the week or solves the problem soon after this. If you want to talk about the worst nerfs in the show's history, I mean, you can just watch literally any episode of The Flash ever outside of the first and last episode of the season. Pretty much this guy is a walking nerf. Um, I haven't watched the show in a long while and I stopped around season six or seven, you know, just watching YouTube clips to keep up every now and then. So, it's hard to pick anything specific cuz I don't really remember anything outside of the first three seasons, but just know room temperature IQ and can't beat up anybody without a pep talk. Uh, use flash time to stop villains and fight them or use flash time to kiss Iris. Pretty classic example of how brain dead this truly is. Let's wrap this up with my proposed solution. Never give the CW the rights to a Flash TV show. His power set simply does not work in a 23 episode season. But even worse, the CW writers ruin almost everything they touch after the first two seasons. Maybe he could work as an HBO miniseries focused on another speedster as the main villain, but I would argue that The Flash is made for the big screen. A 2hour runtime is the perfect length to give him a conflict that doesn't seem too contrived with all these ridiculous plot BS nonsense that should never happen. Uh yeah, and that's the video. I hope you guys enjoyed this one. Please consider liking and subscribing. And do yourself a favor, never watch the Flash TV show.
