Feeding Every type of Gator at the Zooππ
Added:
Lucy, Lucy, Lucy. Come on, Ricky. Oh, look at him. Got to get that ear down.
What do you think she's going to clean her plate?
I don't think this video is going to go the way I planned.
Woah, breaking bones. That's some more fun stuff. Get ready cuz we're feeding the zoo today.
Oh, oh, look at that.
Check this out. This is a big squid. Oh, look who wants it. Lucy is on to the squid idea. Lucy, this is big. Can you eat this big OF A MEAL? OH, OH, ONE BITE AT A TIME. THAT'S HOW YOU EAT a big meal, right? That's how they say it. If you want to eat an elephant, you eat it one bite at a time. Oh, oh, there you go. There you go. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, Lucy's got it. Oh, Lucy, you got it.
YOU GOT IT. OH.
OH, CATFISH WANTED. EVERYBODY wants Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
Okay.
Lucy came back to finish the plate. How about the whole thing?
There it goes. Oh, oh, oh. Woah, the squid eating and everything.
Where you going, Lucy? We've got to open the glass to get a good clean video, you guys. Get ready.
You finished, Lucy? I don't know. That's a lot of food.
Can you get that piece down?
Somewhere, another guy in here. He's hiding.
Cuz where did the water The water got all crazy cuz the dog was hungry. I think Lucy's going to lose that thing to the catfish if she's not careful.
Oh, there she is. She came up.
Lucy, you going to give me half that back for catfish? We've got Ricky out now. Come here, [music] Ricky.
Oh, look at him. Look at those big teeth. Ricky doesn't wake up very He doesn't wake up sometimes. Come on, Ricky. Come on, you want this food? You got to come get it. Ricky, I just gave a big squid away. You could have had that.
If you're big, you would have eaten them eaten it better. You just want to eat You just want to He's like, "I don't know if I want to come out. It's awfully early." OH, COME ON. COME ON. OH.
OH.
OH.
I GOT A HALF OF A CHICKEN WITH THIS BACK. OKAY, here we go. CATFISH WANTS IT MORE.
OH, OKAY. OKAY, HERE WE GO, RICKY. HERE YOU GO. Here you go.
Come on.
I got the little half this time. Let's see if the other catfish is already to eat. Oh, look at that. They're up there both eating away. Oh. Oh, there goes the squid. Lucy Lucy got the squid got a little nervous when Ricky showed up. You want some food? Oh. Come on, Ricky. Second Second piece for Ricky. Come on.
Come on. Come on, Ricky.
Oh.
I mean, he's just different. And we moved him around and now he isn't aggressive here like he used to be.
But I guess that'll come back when we get to a little bit of time out. Come on.
Okay, you guys. You want to see a cool animal?
Ah.
It's not worth bleeding.
Well, I was going to go in to Ticks.
Woah woah woah woah Ticky. WOAH WOAH HEAR THAT?
OH HO.
WOAH. HE'S ACTING LIKE HE'S THE bad boy.
Woah woah woah woah that's my feet.
Listen to him.
Listen.
Okay. Okay, so I got a plate of food, but he wants my feet. Oh, hey. Okay, well, come over here where Come over where the big boys eat.
Come on. Oh, he is growling.
I got a whole plate of food. What's getting me first?
Holy cow, he's growling.
That's a pig's tongue. I don't even know what the first thing he ate was.
Oh, he's liking it. Whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop, chicken.
Ooh, breaking bones. We're going to finish up all our plate over here. I don't know if he can finish it all. Now I'm going to have to mop the floor again.
We've been feeding the whole zoo, so we've been cleaning all day.
Tex going for a walkabout, chasing my customers around.
Here, look look what I got for you. Look look. Yeah, whoop whoop whoop Now he's almost got it down, so he'll be ready for this piece of octopus.
Hey, this is sushi bar. Oh.
Do you want it? Oh [laughter] ho.
Okay, there you go. He loves variety in life.
This is octopus. That's a big old piece of octopus that. Come on. Oh.
So gators do death rolls when they get a piece of food that's a little bit big, they roll around. Oh, there he goes. How you going to break it off? Oh.
They're really strong, use their whole body.
So he's going to tear that off. Are you going to tear it off? That funny thing is octopus is about as hard as you can get. I still see all kinds of food in your mouth. Once you swallow that, then you can really pull on this. He's like, uh-uh, it might get away. Come on, finish your food. Ah.
So he got half a piece. So that way that way he'll break it down into smaller [music] pieces. Now he's trying to pick the little piece up. You finish that and I'll take you back to your house. We're going to put him back in, even though he jumped out. Let him finish his meal, and we're going to go feed a bunch of more animals at the zoo. You ready? We're going to first put him on a swim.
Okay, here we go. We're going to start down here.
Okay. These guys are quick. So now let's see how quick they are. Here here. Come on come on come on come on come on come on. Whoa whoa whoa whoa [cheering] whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA whoa whoa WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa.
Here it is. Come on, baby, you want to come out. You're the one who needs to come out.
Come on. Come on. Woah!
Gosh.
He stole it all. So, the my plan is to get him out and have him eat clear one of these platters. You saw him. They swim really quick. Can you imagine a 15-footer coming at you?
That'd be so crazy, right? But, of course, I don't think you'd see a 15-foot black and white one. Now, the question is, can I get him out of this tight enough to get him out? Woah!
Holy cow!
SO MUCH FOR THAT IDEA. HERE we go. HERE WE GO.
OH, HERE WE GO. HERE WE GO.
I DON'T KNOW IF I'M GOING TO GET HIM.
He's eating it pretty fast. Oh, it's just barely hanging out.
I thought I was smart. She's smarter than me.
Yeah. Look at you. I bet you want that.
Still haven't figured out the Woah!
Figured out the name. So, it's literally blue. Look at it. It's got a blue face, black spots, like a Dalmatian dog. Woah, octopus. Oh, but that ain't an octopus.
It loves squid too.
That being said, the squid is missing a couple legs and a couple eyeballs. I am sure that she'll come finish it up. Help us out with the one with the one with the blue the blue face. Black dots.
This is natural food for an alligator.
Listen to this.
You eat that?
Too sour. You're not old enough for that, huh?
Squid head.
>> [music] >> Same thing that the the other one ate.
Woah! Let's go in. Let's go out. Let's get out of here.
Woah! There we go. Here you go. Here you go, girl. That was wild. Want some salmon? You want frog legs? You ever had You ever had Cajun frog legs before?
Here we go. Oh, there you go. Oh, you're going to have to break off one leg.
Coconut, break a leg.
Okay, so squid, frog leg, but [Β __Β ] that big eel. So, I don't know how much more we're going to be able to get in her cuz I didn't want her to eat that big eel.
But, what do you guys think that is?
Okay, she's ready to go back in the water. Isn't that beautiful or what? So, she is full. That eel was really a big meal. She's beautiful. Uh one of [music] two in the world that look like this.
Wide-eyed Dalmatians. So, okay, here we go. Uh-oh, we lost our frog legs.
Probably don't need them cuz I picked her up and her belly is full.
>> [music] >> So, we got a whole bunch of more things to feed here at the zoo.
But, we wanted to start out with something fun.
Okay, here we go. Woah, check this out. Coconut is our American alligator that is all white, not just any alligator. She loves her food. You can eat that first if you want. Oh, that is a cuttlefish. Yep, and it likes it.
Look at it. Woah, of course she likes just about anything, to say the least. She's one of our favorite gators. We grew her up from pretty small. We got her about that big from Florida, actually, and she is extremely rare. That's a big meal.
That's almo- Oh, no, you're not enough, huh? Okay, so what are you going to eat next? What's going to Oh, pig's ear. Hmm, that's good for her.
That has a lot of cartilage, all kinds of stuff. Now, she's a female, so she'll never get 15 ft like a normal American alligator. And alligators are not pets, even [music] if they're albinos, to say the least. Not even cute, Coconut. That being said, look at the appetite she has. Imagine if she was in the wild. Oh, she's still got that ear in there.
Oh, hopefully she has a better hearing now.
So, let's see. What are we going to What are we going to eat next?
Oh, oh, steak. That ear is a a wide.
Okay, I'll hold you up. You get it down.
Get it down. So, anyway, she is really cool. If you look behind her eye, is her ears. And the crazy part, when she's in the water, they close and are waterproof.
>> [laughter] >> I DON'T KNOW. THIS EAR IS REALLY slowing the video down. But, do you think she's going to clear her plate? This funny part is, you can't just pick up most gators and feed them like this. But, she is different. So, let's see if I'm going to set her down and see if she'll finish get that ear down.
She's like, "Okay, okay." Oh, she still has this that giant cuttlefish.
Oh, yeah. Look at that. Oh, there it goes. She's got to swallow that through her throat. And so, that it's not the ear after all. So, you're going to get that down, girl. Come on. Get that thing down. That's That's the first one of those she's ever eaten. So, it looks a lot like a squid, right? A squid is narrow and and long and a and a cuttlefish is basically really wide.
They actually have a bone in their back called a cuttlebone. And a lot of people feed them with their birds and oats and their tortoises and all kinds of stuff.
Ah, this was a little complicated, that cuttlefish. Come on. You're going to We're going to have to You're going to give her a break, let her walk around and get that down. Okay, there we go.
You walk that off, girl. You walk that off. Come on.
I'm going to take this. You want to take this way you swallow that cuttlefish?
Oh, that cuttlefish feels gone [music] now. Coconut, are you okay? You're not supposed to let your tongue hang out like that.
Okay, keep that tongue. That's a pig's ear. Coconut, why are you enjoying that pig's ear so much? And uh she has ears, which I can't hold and show you. She has actually got goggles. Maybe I can show you if I do this right. Her ears are right here and they open and close. That See that right there? So, that's her ear [music] and it's closed right now. So, she She'll sit with that open, but then when she goes underwater, she closes it.
Then she's got her goggles. Show us your goggles. Where's the goggles, see it?
There's the goggles.
And she has got four strong legs. Look at that.
Even though their legs aren't used for swimming, and they are web feet, that's mostly for mud and sliding. The big, huge tail is for for swimming, and those big teeth are to hang on to her food.
Oh, oh, oh, did I say that she has a whole her whole side of her face is full of [music] basically transmitters that feel for everything in dark, murky water. And if they touch the side of her mouth, they get eaten.
So, anyway, don't play with an alligator. They don't make good pets. But, they are really cool, especially Coconut and Albino.
She's finished the ear. So, obviously she can hear better. So, now let's find out if she's still hungry. Cuz that was a pretty big meal. Now that we found out that wasn't your tongue, you want to you want to a tongue? Oh, oh, SHE'S NOT DONE YET. Look at that.
Piece of pork. But, there you go. Okay, okay. This is actually for for health food reasons. Oh, that is a tendon out of a cow. Because, you know what?
The tendons have the most important fibers and stuff. She's getting kind of heavy here. I think we better just pick one of those two. Which one do you pick?
I'll put her right in the middle of the two, and we'll figure out which one she wants. So, HERE WE GO. OH, THE CHICKEN LEG, her favorite. I think we're going to we're going to we're going to make her tap out right there. But, anyway, hope you enjoyed the video. Hope you're living your dream, cuz we know Coconut is. She is really cool, right? Don't forget. Love your animals, love each other, and have a great day, [music] and make sure you're living the dream, cuz it's a lot easier if you're enjoying your job. Peace out. Have an awesome day.
