Political campaigns should focus on issues that voters actually care about, such as the economy, rather than culture war distractions like trans issues or abortion, which may not resonate with the majority of voters despite being emphasized by political parties.

The Most Dangerous Radicals In America Are White Men追加:
But really what is radical what the real group of people that we have to worry about at least in the United States of America that is radicalized are white men. Right? When I'm I'm a mother obviously I'm thinking about sending my kids to school. I'm not worried about a trans person going into that school and shooting up the school. I'm worried about a young white man going into the school and shooting up the school. And yet we never have conversations around that in the United States. Instead, we want to talk about less than 1% of the people who decide that they're going to identify as a different gender and are using the bathrooms and as if that's like the biggest issue happening right now. I just to me that's what I mean by distraction. Instead of us looking at white men who are radicalized in this country and who are engaged in mass shootings, instead we're looking at people that are not doing that.
>> Okay? I mean, look, we could we could we could focus on any demographic. I mean, white white men are not the primary demographic per capita who are committing a lot of crimes in the US.
That would be black men. Um, >> mass shootings.
>> Uh, if you include gang violence. Yeah, actually.
>> Well, I I don't want to go there because we're going to go to the last question of Charlie Kerr, but >> it's just true. Like, I'm saying this.
I'm I'm very clearly >> I would encourage listeners [snorts] to >> Yeah. You know.
>> Yeah. Well, it's I mean >> Yeah. It that's just reality, right? Um, but at the same time, I mean, look, I I think people can walk and chew gum at the same time. I I don't think there's anything pro there's I think, yeah, when if people are talking about these type of lone wolf school shootings, um, then yeah, that does seem to be predominantly young white men that do that. If you're looking at, um, gang violence or lots of inner city crime and so on, that's going to predominantly be um, young black men that are doing it. It's the same in my country. It's the same in lots of other countries. I think depending, you know, but I I don't think I I I think sure like pe people are going to have different focuses on different things for different reasons. Sometimes with good intentions, sometimes with ulterior motives. I think that's absolutely true.
I think there are people who like zone in on a specific demographic or doing a specific thing and there's normally kind of an agenda with that. I've seen it on both sides of the aisle. Um but yeah, just just coming back to the issue. I was just talking because you asked me about why why this particular issue um is something that people care about. And and I'm saying why because it got to the point where it actually does impact people. Like I'm totally aware that throughout my entire life and since before I was born, there have been people who identify as the opposite sex.
There have been people who have so-called sex change operations. There have been um crossdressers, drag queens, transvestites, like all of that stuff. Like historically, it's exist in in different societies in a lot of ways. And it was my my like I said, it wasn't until sort of mid2010s where it even became a became a topic.
But I don't think that I I think again I think there's a reaction to it, but I don't think it was pushed to the forefront and mainstreamed by, you know, anyone of a conservative persuasion. And by the way, I think this was actually a massive mistake that progressives made.
I I don't think um I think this sort of massive push with the trans thing um is like I I think the approach of actually talking about economics and affordability and housing, all the all the all healthcare, all those things. I think that's um I think that would be a much wiser focus for people on the left than trying to sort of ram trans pronouns down society or trying to I don't know like I agree >> I agree with you. I mean listen when we saw the exit polls of the last election I mean I will say this against my own party because I have to be fair in this conversation. Democrats spend all spend almost the majority of the election talking about abortion issues. And when the exit poll showed that less than eight% of people went to the ballot box to vote because of the abortion issue, that's a problem. Like that's a problem that we have to address. Um I think we knew this like as a professional campaigner I knew this at the beginning of the election cycle. I was like, I don't understand why we are focused on an issue that I am seeing at the doors when we go out there and knock doors in middle America that most people don't care about to be honest. Um, and so that's not to say that it's not an important issue. That's not to say any of those things, but as a professional campaigner, my job is to try to figure out what does the American public care about the most and then focus on those issues during an election. And obviously that is the economy. Obviously, I mean that you you've said it. We we know it from Trump. We know it from Kamla.
