In India, almost one in four percent will be having hypertension, making it almost 200 million people will be having high blood pressure. [music] So, it is not practically possible that everybody should come to a a cardiologist. There are specific situation where a cardiologist comes into a picture. Most of the other time, blood pressure can be managed by a local GP or a physician.

[00:00:25]Those specific situation where you definitely need to come and consult a hypertension specialist or a cardiologist are if your BP is not controlled by more than [music] three medication, which includes a water removing pill or a diuretic. If the blood pressure is extremely high, that is more than 180 [music] by 120 despite medication, or if the patient is developing any other complication because of high blood pressure like brain stroke, chest pain, breathing difficulty, eye problem, difficulty in vision, which is because of high blood pressure, or any other issues which [music] makes us believe that this hypertension is because of some secondary causes like renal stenosis or any hormonal imbalances. So, these are specific [music] situation where you need to come and consult a cardiologist.
