[00:00:18]We're just getting started with this new idea where I sit down and answer your questions. But, you know, there are a lot of questions that have come in and sometimes I need helper. So, I'll bring in a very good friend of mine. His name is Lyall. and uh he'll be here to help us go through the mailbag and we'll also, you know, look at some of my artifacts here on my shelf and talk about what we're listening to this week.

[00:00:42]>> So, let's go through some of my stuff.

[00:00:43]I've got something here in the bottom corner that it's actually very embarrassing. This is Hello, Impressa.

[00:00:50]So, um this is a VHS, I'm thinking. Yes, it is. Look at that. That is um taken from a commercial that I did. I went to Japan and I did this commercial for Subaru or Subaru as you say.

[00:01:03]>> Subaru is familiar to most Americans because of its unique technical abilities like the four-wheel drive or its platform engine. It was also the official car for the US national ski.

[00:01:13]>> And it's truly an embarrassing thing.

[00:01:15]And you can find this online. I'm sure YouTube has it somewhere. Just type in my name and Impressa or Subaru and you'll come up and you'll have a really good laugh.

[00:01:24]>> Good morning. You'll thank me that you did. Maybe.

[00:01:36]>> What are we even doing?

[00:01:37]>> It's time for mailbag. Lyall, what's going on this week? What do we have?

[00:01:42]There's just so many questions. People are so curious. Are you up to answering these?

[00:01:48]Okay. How would you recommend to find self-love?

[00:01:52]Oh gosh. My search continues. You have to find the joy in every experience. Well, that's a good answer. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes not so much. You have to give yourself a break. Sometimes you have to say, you know what, I'm just doing my best and walk on to the next thing. I think you're right. You can go anywhere.

[00:02:16]You know, I mean, if you ask walkin, you know, he found his self-love through dancing. Tap dancing specifically, actually. Soft shoe shuffle.

[00:02:25]Coffee cake or coffee candy and why?

[00:02:30]Question. Coffee cake or coffee candy?

[00:02:33]Great name for a song.

[00:02:39]Coffee cake minor key or coffee candy is right for me. Depending on the day and my mood and the sun, I will enjoy and have a lot of fun. But coffee cake or coffee candy? I've got into a major key now. I don't know. It's a tough question. My grandmother made a coffee cake that I still remember and I didn't drink coffee when I was younger, but I like the cake so much. It had like a ginger, not ginger, coriander. What flavor? like a like a nutmeg, a touch of nutmeg, a touch of cinnamon, a touch of coriander or something like that, right in the cake. And then on top there was a frosting. It was like a maple frosting or something. And then sometimes that she put on these brown sugar things that she would cook on top that were sort of crunchy but like sugary. Oh my god, it was genius. She made that and she made angel food cake for me. That was my birthday cake when I was a little kid. I loved angel food cake cuz you can take the cake in a hand like this and you can just eat it can mush it up and if you're on the go coffee candy otherwise coffee cake. Favorite movie of 2025.

[00:04:02]There was some that I really liked. You know what I really liked but I I love his work. Yorgos's work. I like Beonia a lot. I don't know just something about that.

[00:04:10]>> Don't call it dialogue. This isn't death of a salesman.

[00:04:14]>> Jesse was great. I thought he should have been nominated. One movie that I really, really did love and I saw it in a theater, which is the best place to see it, was Frankenstein.

[00:04:28]>> What manner of devil made him?

[00:04:33]>> I did.

[00:04:36]>> I'm a huge GMO del Toro fan. Um, he was the nicest guy in the world. And Jacob Olardi was brilliant, I thought, as the monster. I liked everything about it. I liked the the look, the feel, the vibe, the design of it. I really appealed to me. Why are you so chill and awesome?

[00:04:59]I have no I don't know what happened.

[00:05:04]I may have been dropped on my head as a child.

[00:05:09]Favorite time of day at Nikos.carabus carabus. As I've gotten older, my favorite time of the day has gotten earlier.

[00:05:20]I love getting up just before dawn, making coffee cuz it's quiet. I enjoy the sunrise a lot. It's the promise of the day. When I was younger, I used to not like to go to bed, but now I look forward to bed every night. What is something that working with David Lynch left with you? Question mark.

[00:05:41]>> Working with David Lynch. Wow. So many things.

[00:05:44]>> Kale.

[00:05:45]>> Kale.

[00:05:45]>> Your full name is Kyle Mclaclin, >> but I call you Kale. And um there there's a I remember why I call you Kale.

[00:05:55]>> Dino Dorentes could never pronounce Kyle's name. He called him Kale.

[00:06:01]>> And so I started calling Kyle Kale. And that's the way it's been for years and years.

[00:06:06]>> The first thing that comes to mind is just the absolute joy of the creative process.

[00:06:14]What happens in front of the camera, how much David enjoyed those moments as we all did, those creative moments between action and cut.

[00:06:28]>> Okay, let's do this.

[00:06:29]>> He just left me with a great appreciation for that. I try to bring that to every set that I work on now because it should be joyful. It should be fun. It's intense, but it's got to be it's got to be fun.

[00:06:41]>> Cut it. Beautiful, Kale. Beautiful.

[00:06:44]>> What's your order at a movie theater- restaurant soda mixing machine? You're going to find out. My order, meaning my sequence when I'm um mixing, getting my drink ready before I go to the theater is usually this. It starts with a Chardonnay and then I go to Merllo, a touch of Cabernet and sometimes I'll finish off with a Sarra and that's my drink that I take into the movie theater with me.

[00:07:16]Favorite vegetable in your garden? What is my favorite vegetable? Growing up, my favorite vegetable were garden peas.

[00:07:25]English peas. My dad had a huge patch in a backyard. We had a big vegetable garden and he loved garden peas as well.

[00:07:32]So we'd go and harvest them and then we would literally chuck and eat the peas right out of the pods raw, fresh. They were so sweet, so good, and I ate way too many peas. If you were president for a day, what holiday would you create and why? I got a few ideas. I don't know if you can make a holiday about coffee.

[00:07:56]>> Breaking news.

[00:08:00]But I do feel like it could happen because it's very important. Coffee is very important. Wouldn't it be fun to have like a national parents day?

[00:08:10]Maybe something like this exists like a holiday, but everyone has to do a service of some kind, right? Like like a charity service or a volunteer. It should be a day of service. Kind of like Earth Day cuz it's the kind of thing that you can do with your family.
