California Is In A State of EMERGENCYAdded:
So, a major incident unfolded in California yesterday, and that's the chemical explosion that triggered emergency respondent, which by the way also raised serious safety concerns and sent authorities scrambling to understand exactly what happened. Now, my friends, anytime, and I mean anytime that you hear the words chemical explosion, people immediately start asking the same question, right? What was released into the air? What are the toxic chemicals? Was anyone injured?
Right? Is there a danger to nearby communities? Is this terrorism? And more importantly, how does something like this even happen in the first place?
Well, let's take a look at what we know so far. CNN posted an article on this exact topic saying 50,000 residents in California told to leave their homes as threat of chemical explosion looms.
Here's what we know.
This is not a joke. 50,000 people. What caused this thing? Why did it happen?
How do we prevent stuff like this happening every single day? You know, it's one thing when it's a I don't know, a hurricane. It's one thing when, you know, it's um weather, when it's mother nature that's taking place. You can't stop things like that. But this, I don't know. Something needs to be done. And welcome back, my friends, to the Michael Cohen show on our continued journey to a million subscribers. Now, I know this isn't Iran. It's not Hunter virus. It's not Ebola. It's not I don't know whatever shootings taking place by the White House. This stuff's still important, too. So, hit subscribe, like, comment, and share because there's so much so much happening every single day.
Now, just a few hours ago, Fox News, they posted some emerging details about this chemical leak. All right, that they attached it to some expost with a video of them literally trying to control the situation. First, let me show you the expost. In it, it turns around and it says, "What started out as a chemical leak has now escalated into an emergency, officials say could end in a massive explosion.
by a cruise in Orange County, California, spent hours trying to stabilize a 34,000galon tank containing volatile chemicals before announcing that the tank cannot be secured or mitigated.
Officials say the situation has narrowed to two possibilities. a catastrophic spill of toxic chemicals or a thermal runaway event capable of igniting neighborhood tanks. Police are urging residents to leave evacuation zones immediately as emergency shelters open for displaced families.
34,000 gallons. You're talking about enough liquid to fill the size of most average swimming pools.
Let me show you the video that was attached to the post. Play it.
I mean, look at the size of that thing.
So, when you're talking about Orange County, I mean, for God's sakes, you're talking about a very densely populated area that that thing explodes. Holy forgetting about the thermal heat that that thing's going to require. I don't even know what sort of chemical is in there. But whatever it is, they're telling people in the area, get out.
go to shelters. Imagine you're in your home, you're in your property, and all of a sudden they're telling you you need to leave because something that is unrelated to you is potentially going to explode. I want to show you another video by the X account 24 Global Watch that reporters just 18 hours ago while I was fast asleep.
that 18 hours ago that 40,000 people have been evacuated. So far since this post, at least another 10,000 have been evacuated. 50,000 people so far as a direct result of this. Play the clip.
>> Breaking news just minutes ago. Tens of thousands of people are being evacuated in California right now. According to reports from Southern California, around 40,000 residents have been ordered to leave their homes as emergency crews rush to contain a potentially catastrophic hazard. Officials say a massive tank filled with dangerous chemicals is at risk of leaking or even exploding. And that's why authorities are treating this as a full-scale emergency. Firefighters, hazmat teams, and emergency responders are now working around the clock to stabilize the situation before it gets worse.
Residents in nearby areas have been told to evacuate immediately while roads around the danger zone are being shut down. So far, officials have not confirmed what triggered the emergency, but they warned the risk remains serious. Hazardous chemical incidents like this can quickly turn deadly if toxic material spreads into the air or surrounding communities. Right now, the focus is on preventing a disaster before it happens. Because if that tank ruptures or explodes, the impact could spread across a much larger area.
Authorities are urging people to follow evacuation orders and avoid the zone completely.
>> I mean, I really think it would be right for someone to tell us what the actual chemical is. Imagine if that thing does actually explode and sends particles in the air. What if those particles hypothetically are toxic that you breathe them and it burns a hole through your freaking lungs? Right? This is again not a joke. Why do they have to constantly keep us in the dark when it's their in the first place? So, in other words, you should not What about the people who say, "Ah, you know, we've been through this before. I'm not going to leave." What if hypothetically they tell you that it's sulfuric acid, right? or some sort of acid that if it goes into the air and you breathe it will burn a hole not through just through your nasal cavity but through your lungs and kill you instantly. Maybe then people will evacuate. What if hypothetically they need to evacuate hundreds of thousands of people? Don't you want to tell them about again the Michael Cohen word of the month imminence, right? What is the imminence of this possible explosion and what the hell is being contained inside of that 40,000galon container?
Now, I do want you to take a look at the report from ABC News who says, and I quote, "Crews are working around the clock to prevent an environmental disaster."
Disaster.
Play the clip.
>> We move on now to the state of emergency in Southern California. Crews working around the clock to prevent an environmental disaster. A chemical leak coming from a large storage tank could cause a dangerous spill or an explosion.
Authorities are calling this a quote crisis situation. Here's ABC's Jaclyn Lee reporting from the command center in Orange County.
>> Tonight, California Governor Gavin Newsome issuing a state of emergency in Orange County as officials race to contain a potentially catastrophic situation at a chemical plant. at least 50,000 people already forced to evacuate.
>> Got a knock on the door and I was told uh we were supposed to leave. So I did what I was told and I I left.
>> With mandatory evacuations expanding in this densely populated area. At least a dozen schools were shut down. Nursing homes, hospitals, and fire stations also forced to evacuate. If there is an explosion, how will this impact the environment and the residents who live here? it it would.
>> Okay. So, let me begin by saying that I call All right. It's all over a broken valve. So, there's no sort of like emergency shut off valve. Really? I mean, doesn't that sort of ring as to um how about tell us the truth? Now, a veteran firefighter. He went on to say, and I'm going to quote, "This is as bad as I've ever seen." Take a look at this.
ABC report. Play the clip.
>> This is as bad as I've ever seen. This is real. Don't Don't mess around.
>> A veteran firefighter here in Orange County, California, saying that this is as bad as it gets. There is a leaking hazardous materials tank. It began yesterday and got a lot worse today.
That is why the evacuation zone expanded to include about 40,000 people in six different cities including Garden Grove, Anaheim, Stanton, and Westminster.
>> It is crazy. Toughest part is not knowing what's happening.
>> Those people being told for their safety, they need to leave their homes and their businesses. The division chief with the Orange County Fire Authority pointed out that there are three scenarios here. number one that they could find a fix for this leaking epoxy.
>> And when you have limited short-term exposure, meaning maybe you inhaled some of the vapor, it can cause significant irritation in the lungs, the nasal passages, and um it can also cause nausea. It can also cause dizziness. The epoxy is used to manufacture windcreens for fighter jets. They have been reaching out to experts not only across the United States but around the world and at this point they haven't been able to solve the problem.
>> The other option that was told to us is that it blows up. That was what we were handed a leaking tank or a tank that blows up. That's why we extended the evacuation today in an overabundance of caution. This is highly volatile. It's highly toxic and it's highly flammable.
The problem being that that will send a toxic plume into the sky and also there are two adjacent tanks they could also explode. Third scenario would be that the thousands of gallons of epoxy would leak onto the ground. So again the authorities emphasizing that they do not want people to take this lightly. They want them to evacuate and to evacuate now. I've been in the fire service for 32 years and it is the most significantly dangerous event I've ever been part of.
>> And if that warning alone shouldn't scare the out of you, I really don't know what will. And finally, around 19 hours ago, this was the response by Governor Gavin Newsome. his official response that once again for whatever reason instead of coming on television or what have you, they start posting it on X. Let me show you the X post. In it, Governor Nuomo writes, "I am proclaiming a state of emergency in Orange County as California continues to respond to the hazardous chemical incident in garden growth.
Cal oees has been mobilized for over 24 hours and state agencies are supporting impacted communities to protect public safety and assist local officials as response efforts continue. Please continue to follow guidance from emergency officials. Get the latest information at ggcity.org/emergency.
Okay. Then again, that assumes that these people are following Gavin Newsome or they're even on X, which by the way is, I don't know, filled with nothing but hate and rancid people. I basically never use X. So, how else would you find out what to do? I mean, this is just insane. Again, I'm so over all of this.
You're going to really tell me that this is just an epoxy. Okay, flammable. Get it. And you see people walking around with those face masks. What about the toxicity of it? Burning your eyes. I mean, this again, it's not a joke.
Burning your skin, burning a hole through your nasal passages and irritating your lungs are shutting them down. This is a true true emergency of the greatest magnitude. And it's something that probably should have been prevented.
And as always, thanks for listening. Hey everyone, first of all, thanks for watching. I mean, we're going to be posting daily episodes with reactions and talking about politics. We'll be talking about everything, in fact. So, please like and subscribe. Join us on this journey.
