[00:00:00]You can lie to yourself all you want, but you sure can't lie to the algorithm.

[00:00:05]That's the world that we live in today.

[00:00:07]The reality is is that the algorithm knows you better than you know yourself.

[00:00:12]Because as we've talked about here on the channel before when we've talked about the fact that, you know, again just lying to yourself and living in a world of lies and all that stuff and that just started a deeper conversation.

[00:00:25]And well, I thought to myself, well, what what perfect time to bring this up than now? Because the reality is is that the algorithm knows you better than you know yourself. And what do I mean by that? I think you know what I mean by that. The thing is is that we might lie to ourselves constantly or not admit certain things about ourselves to ourselves or to others. We keep things deep down inside in our, you know, closet or whatever you want to call it.

[00:00:59]But the thing is that when you're scrolling online, when you're scrolling through those videos on TikTok, on Instagram, on Facebook, on YouTube, whatever it is you're doing.

[00:01:08]All those recommendations, including this one.

[00:01:12]All right.

[00:01:16]You are the algorithm. That's what a lot of people don't understand. The thing is is that the algorithm basically knows what you like because you tell it what you like.

[00:01:29]And again, whether you want to admit it to yourself or not, you admit it to the algorithm.

[00:01:35]And that's why it knows you better than you know yourself.

[00:01:39]Anyways, before we get too deep into this, let's have our coffee and our libations. You know how I, you know, like to just hit the ground running and I just get into it and I forget that uh we're having our morning coffee and we're just talking about, you know, whatever's on my mind.

[00:01:56]As you guys know how I we do here on the channel Monday through Friday, we like to get together, have our coffee, have our, you know, libations. You know, some some of you guys drink some tea, Red Bull, whatever. Let me know down below what you guys drink.

[00:02:10]With that being said, we have our morning coffee and we have our morning conversation and share our thoughts.

[00:02:17]So, welcome for all you new viewers out there and uh you know, welcome to everyone else out there that, you know, watches me on a regular basis. But before we continue with this conversation, let's have a sip of our favorite coffee.

[00:02:44]And I love you guys.

[00:02:46]And you guys either love me or you're going to love or you're going to learn to love me or you're just going to learn to hate me.

[00:02:52]Again, just depends on who you are out there. But again, the algorithm has fed you my channel, my videos, this video in particular probably, because it knows you and knows you in the sense that either you're going to really, really resonate with this video, with this channel, everything that I'm saying, or you're not.

[00:03:12]And that's the thing, you know, the algorithm besides besides feeding you what you like, it wants to make sure that it continues giving you what you like, whether you want to admit you like it or not, and keep you on the platform so I can, you know, again, show you ads, whatever.

[00:03:32]All right?

[00:03:33]And uh the thing is is that a lot of times when we click on things that are clickbait, we click on things that are um how do I say this? They might anger us, they get us emotional, you know, so some of you guys might click on you know, I look, for example, I hate police, you know, brutality and you know, uh abuse of authority and, you know, bad cops and all that stuff, right?

[00:03:56]So, what does my algorithm feed me? A bunch of cops. You know what I mean? A bunch of videos of cops gone wrong.

[00:04:03]>> [snorts] >> Okay? Some of you guys, you know, like puppy videos or or cat videos. So, it feeds you those things. And it gives you sad little stories or or or, you know, funny little things that they do.

[00:04:15]Some of you guys like deep conversations.

[00:04:17]You know, it it gives you videos like this or gives you other videos out there.

[00:04:21]Um again, you know, the algorithm knows you better than you know yourself.

[00:04:26]You know, a lot Some of you guys might ask is like, "Hey, how come I'm always, you know, getting all these uh you know, uh what is it? Thirst traps. All these uh all these chicks, you know, all these things on my on my feed when that's not really what I want. I liked all these other posts and all this I want to engage with all this other stuff."

[00:04:44]The reality is is that the algorithm knows what you like whether you want to admit it or not. And it's going to it's just going to feed you it. It's going to dangle it in front of you like a carrot.

[00:04:54]Okay? And uh even though you don't want to see that, you might be interested in something else, it's going to feed you that. Because it's like anything else.

[00:05:01]You Maybe you're Okay, for example, I'll give you an example. You're hungry, right?

[00:05:05]>> [snorts] >> Heh. A lot of people, you know, were would just easily um would would just go straight to like I want to eat a pizza.

[00:05:11]I want to eat a Philly cheesesteak. I want to eat some chicken wings. I want to all that stuff.

[00:05:16]All right? Because that's what's good.

[00:05:18]That's what tastes good.

[00:05:19]And um you know, some of you guys out there, you know, as we get older, whatever, it doesn't matter. We're trying to better our diets. So, we're like, "All right, maybe I'll just have some grilled chicken, some vegetables, maybe a baked potato." All right? But the thing is that, you know, you got control over that. And so, if you if you all of a sudden have the choice, all right? It right in front of you, all right? The thing is again you got the choice when you're making your food or you're going to go get your food, right? But if all of a sudden the choice is right in front of you. You don't got to do anything. It's just have a juicy juicy What is it? A juicy yummy delicious cheeseburger or just some broccoli.

[00:05:59]Even though you know you need the broccoli, oh, it's hard to resist that cheeseburger. They're both right in front of you and they're both going to cost the same. They're both whatever, you know, all that stuff. Again, there's a cost to eating the cheeseburger every day or all the time as opposed to eating the broccoli every day and vice versa.

[00:06:15]But, the point is is that you know, with the algorithm it's kind of like something similar only it's a little sinister in the sense that again, it's a product. Oh, wait a minute. You are the product, all right? It's a platform in which you are the product, all right? And what they're trying to sell you are the ads or what they're trying to show you are ads. It's as simple as that. All these platforms, okay?

[00:06:37]And that's why a lot of people are like, "Oh, I don't want to see all this AI slop or I don't want to see all these crappy videos."

[00:06:44]But, in order for you, you know, again, you got to like if you don't want to see those things, you won't see those things. You know, they might show up, but if you give them a little bit too much attention, the algorithm knows that you're probably going to watch more of those and want to watch more of those whether you want to admit it or not.

[00:07:01]Again, that's why again, if you really learn how to curate your own algorithm, just like I was telling you about you know, the the dinner curation, you know, meaning you know, you got the choice whether you're going to eat unhealthy or healthy, you can do the same thing with the algorithm.

[00:07:18]And some of us know this, some of us don't.

[00:07:21]And no matter how hard you try, you're every once in a while you're going to have a little cheat meal or have a cheat video or a cheat whatever.

[00:07:29]And that's the thing. And so, you know, the thing about living in this future, you know, part of this amazing future, but at the same time kind of dystopian, is the fact that the real way to really get to know somebody these days um unfortunately as as weird as this might sound is to go through their social media.

[00:07:49]You know, meaning you know, what videos they looked at or liked.

[00:07:53]You get what I'm saying? Because that really shows you more of what that person is into or what they like whether they want to admit it or not.

[00:08:03]This is a true story. It's just I mean it's just it is what it is.

[00:08:07]Because it's so hard to resist and it just it just throws it right in your face.

[00:08:12]And so you know, these days So let me give you an example, okay?

[00:08:17]Because I was I was going to say something, but before I say that, let me say something to get to that, okay? What I was going to say is that the reason that I started doing these videos, okay?

[00:08:28]And I started this channel, you know, doing this kind of content.

[00:08:32]Okay? Was simply because the algorithm changed. And the algorithm got smarter, got better.

[00:08:39]And a lot of other YouTubers out there are constantly complaining. Okay?

[00:08:42]Whatever type of videos they're making.

[00:08:45]I mean there a lot of them complain "Oh, I'm not getting the same amount of views. I'm not getting the same amount of this. I'm not getting" And the thing is is that it's because the algorithm has just gotten better.

[00:08:55]Because again, maybe some of you guys that are on YouTube um or no you know, just paying more attention to this stuff.

[00:09:03]You're noticing that a lot of small YouTube creators, a lot of smaller channels, they're the ones that are blowing up. They're the ones that are getting more attention. Or getting more love from the audience, from the algorithm, from the platform than the other videos.

[00:09:18]And so I looked into this and again, I've been on YouTube for 10 years and I I love this platform and I love what it's allowed me to do and you know, the information I've been able to get from it and all this stuff. I'm I'm I love YouTube, okay? I love this stuff.

[00:09:32]But the point I'm making is is that when I started to see this you know, thing change, I wasn't complaining.

[00:09:39]I just started the in a sense, okay, I got to figure out a solution. I got to figure out what I'm going to do here.

[00:09:44]Because the thing is that I I have another channel. And that's the channel that I really make my money on. You know, that's my bread and butter, so on and so forth. And that other channel is my life in Mexico, living in Mexico, helping people with information on, you know, moving to Mexico, living in whatever, okay? Just it's it's kind of like a very niche type audience.

[00:10:06]And that audience is basically dependent on how many people want to move to Mexico or live in Mexico.

[00:10:13]So, if the algorithm has changed and now it's really feeding people what they really really want to see, well, guess what? You know what I mean?

[00:10:21]Like I'm I'm definitely getting more viewers in one sense that are really really interested in what I have to say on that channel.

[00:10:30]But, I'm also seeing a huge decline in viewership from just random viewers.

[00:10:36]Now, again, since I got a good business model there, I'm doing pretty okay. I'm doing I mean, I'm not seeing a big major financial hit like other YouTubers are.

[00:10:46]Even though my viewers are half of what they used to be of 6 months ago.

[00:10:50]It doesn't matter. My income is steady.

[00:10:54]Again, it sucks because in my estimation, man, it would have been higher at this point. But, at least I haven't lost any ground.

[00:11:00]Anyways, that's not the point. The point is is that when I started this channel, again, it was a while ago and I was only doing live streams and I was just it was just more of a labor of love type of thing, trying to figure my way out, get my voice out there, again.

[00:11:15]And eventually, when this year started, I was like, all right, you know what? I want to pivot and do something different. And the different thing that I started to do was well, these videos.

[00:11:25]And simply put, since I already knew what the new algorithm was all about, I was like, all right, let's see if this is true. I'm going to go on ahead and I'm going to really put myself out there. All right, I'm going to use all the knowledge that I've learned and gained. You know, I'm not an expert or anything like that, but whatever, you know, I've got 10 years of practice on this thing. And so I was like, all right, let me use all my knowledge, all my information, everything I've kind of gathered up until now to um you know, start this new channel and focus on you know, the things that I want to talk about. Be myself, put myself really out there.

[00:12:03]Because again, there's a lot of channels doing something very similar to this and you see how they're growing exponentially because well, the the algorithm knows who you are. Again, I'm trying to let the algorithm know who I am.

[00:12:18]And once the algorithms know who I am well, they already know who you are and they're just going to you know, just connect all the dots.

[00:12:30]And that's the thing. That's why, you know, you see certain channels out there that are just not doing so well and you see other channels out there that are doing amazingly well. And in my estimation, you know, from the years that I've been on YouTube and doing content and doing everything, um the growth I've been seeing on this channel already all right, just putting myself out there doing something that I love to do and really want to do and in fact it's encouraging me more each and every day when I really put my real thoughts out there. I really really just do what what feels right. You know, like an artist, you know, in the sense uh you know, like I painted this, I did this.

[00:13:05]Looks like scribble, but people buy my t-shirt, whatever. I'm not here to judge. I'm just here to do.

[00:13:11]I'm just here to create. I'm just here to I you know, again, that I just got to show up.

[00:13:16]And believe it or not I've had Sorry.

[00:13:22]Kind of guy with a Like I need a new muffler. Sheesh.

[00:13:27]Anyways, what I was going to say is that believe it or not um I've actually had videos on this channel already, you know, that I have already had more views than some of my videos on my other channel that's an established channel, has an established audience, um you know, the algorithm knows it very well, um and and you know, and I and I do pretty well over there. I'm not you know, I'm not saying that, but I'm just that to me it's just like the growth on this channel compared to that one and just knowing that it's a completely different thing. This is not that niche. You know, what I'm doing now is not as niche as the other channel.

[00:14:01]Again, I'm just sitting here in my back in my backyard, literally, you know, my wife's garden, you know, part of my garden out here and I'm just sitting out here every day and just having a conversation with you guys out there in the audience about whatever's on my mind.

[00:14:15]And uh you know, I got my core audience already here on this channel. Shout out to you guys. I love you guys. I appreciate you guys.

[00:14:21]Um but again, I I every day I get new new viewers.

[00:14:26]You know, just constantly.

[00:14:28]And sometimes I'm having, you know, videos blow up.

[00:14:31]Again, blowing up, you know, for for me, you know, and and meaning you know, remember my channel's very small right now.

[00:14:39]And so getting over a thousand views on a channel is a lot for this channel. On my other channel, it's not. That's not a lot. It's very little. But on this channel, it's a lot.

[00:14:51]Okay? And uh and that's the thing. So, the algorithm as I continue making videos on topics that I want to talk about well, guess what? The algorithm again, it just continues to know who I am and it continues to find other like-minded individuals like you out there.

[00:15:09]And that's the thing, guys. You know, it's no accident that you guys have found me.

[00:15:12]You know, the reality is is that again, you did not find me. I found you.

[00:15:18]Okay?

[00:15:19]Because like I was saying earlier, you know, you created your own algorithm.

[00:15:24]You've already told the algorithm And by the way, all these algorithms kind of like talk to each other.

[00:15:30]I'm sure you sometimes, you know, you'll see a video on on TikTok or on Instagram, and then you'll see it on YouTube later on, you know, like a short.

[00:15:40]All right. You know, that's the thing.

[00:15:41]It's like all these things kind of like talk to each other because the thing is that they're all connected, and they're all just trying to get to know you.

[00:15:48]You know, some more than others, and some want to know different information, but whatever.

[00:15:52]But you yourself are feeding them all this information.

[00:15:57]So, that's the thing. That's the whole kind of point here. Because, you know, going back to, you know, lying to yourself and how a lot of people lie to themselves, and and you know, obviously by lying to yourself you're lying to everyone else, and all this other stuff.

[00:16:10]The thing is that it doesn't matter what stage of denial you're in.

[00:16:15]The reality is is that again, the algorithm is always going to know you.

[00:16:18]Because the algorithm is your brain.

[00:16:20]It's your thoughts. You know how sometimes, you know, there's people out there that say, "Man, I think that, you know, the phone can already see hear my thoughts. I think of something and all of a sudden it comes out on the algorithm." Listen, man, like I said, it's already it it's you are one with the algorithm and vice versa.

[00:16:37]All right? It's not reading your freaking mind.

[00:16:40]It already knows what you're going to want. It already knows what you're Again, it's so good. It's it sometimes it beats you to the punch.

[00:16:47]Now again, you know, we all know already by now that if I say BMW one too many times, I'm going to start getting BMW ads.

[00:16:55]If I say GoPro one too many times, I'm going to start getting GoPro ads out of the blue.

[00:17:00]We know that, okay? We know it listens and whatever. So, knowing that it listens to you, okay? So, it listens to you at all times, no matter what you're doing.

[00:17:08]Period in the story.

[00:17:10]And then on top of that, you're constantly feeding it information, and you're telling it what you like and what you don't like. All right? Whether you want to admit it to yourself or not. But sometimes again, when we lie to ourselves, oh, I don't like this.

[00:17:25]Whatever, you do but you're watching it.

[00:17:28]Right?

[00:17:29]Whether you're masochist, you know, whatever like me watching, you know, cop abuse videos.

[00:17:34]You know, I can very easily just tell the algorithm not interested, don't recommend this anymore. But I don't. I I mean, I know how to do that. I do that with other things but I don't.

[00:17:44]Because it [clears throat] feeds something in me that I want to see for whatever reason.

[00:17:47]It's rage bait.

[00:17:49]That's my some you know, that's rage bait for me.

[00:17:52]>> [snorts] >> You get what I'm saying? So that's the thing. And so everybody has their thing.

[00:17:57]You know, the algorithm knows how to push your buttons.

[00:18:00]All right? And sometimes, you know, we don't want to admit to ourselves that we like you know, we like it when they push those buttons. We you know, it is we like it when So that's the thing. And so that's the kind of like the crazy thing about all this.

[00:18:15]You know, with the technology and the algorithm and all this stuff because it knows you better than you know yourself.

[00:18:21]And you can't really lie to the algorithm. Again, you can curate to the algorithm and you know, that's how you would Again, if you want to continue lying to yourself and and then eventually, you know, obviously lie to the algorithm, you can do that.

[00:18:34]Okay? But the reality is just it's always going to come out.

[00:18:37]And um I I think that as we're moving into this future again, I think that by now most people are fully aware that privacy does not exist anymore. We have no more privacy.

[00:18:49]But there's still a little bit of privacy.

[00:18:53]And that's what we think that we have in our minds that we never speak we never tell other people, we never put it out there. We just keep it in there.

[00:19:03]And in the algorithm.

[00:19:06]So just you know, be aware of all that.

[00:19:09]Okay?

[00:19:10]Be aware of what you're doing online and what you're feeding it.

[00:19:15]And how you're feeding it.

[00:19:17]Because it's it's your mind. It's really that's all it is.

[00:19:21]And the thing is that yes, a lot of it is just slop, you know, it's just whatever videos. We know this.

[00:19:27]All right?

[00:19:28]So also keep that in mind as well.

[00:19:32]All right? So again, sometimes, you know, people like to poopoo on people scrolling through videos all day.

[00:19:39]But again, I'm I'm old enough to remember a time when everybody was just staring at the TV all day.

[00:19:46]And some people do both.

[00:19:47]All right?

[00:19:49]So back then it was a little more difficult for the people that created stuff to know what you liked. It was more like they told you what you liked. There's still some of that out there, okay?

[00:20:02]There's still a lot of that out there.

[00:20:04]But these days, the thing is that there's just so much media out there.

[00:20:07]There's so many things, especially with all those short videos that I think that, you know, again, there's there's something behind that because that really, really feeds the algorithm.

[00:20:18]That really lets them know what you know what you like and what you don't like.

[00:20:22]You know, obviously, if, you know, you've never clicked on one of my videos or even know who I am before, all right?

[00:20:28]And you clicked on this video and you're watching it all the way through. You're still here.

[00:20:32]Man, you know, you're telling the algorithm, okay? That you enjoy me and whatever [ __ ] [ __ ] that I have to say.

[00:20:40]And it's not going to it's going to now start to recommend you videos of mine.

[00:20:45]But how does it know what videos of mine to recommend?

[00:20:48]Well, because it already knows who you are and I've talked about various topics and it's going to recommend you okay? The best video, okay? That they think that the algorithm thinks you're going to like.

[00:21:02]And sometimes they're right.

[00:21:05]Sometimes they're wrong.

[00:21:07]And that's the thing. And so the more you know, the thing is that only you can let it know you know, if it's right or wrong, you know, whether you're interested or not.

[00:21:18]And so that's the thing, guys. You know, we're living in a kind of weird world.

[00:21:21]And I think at some point in the future, again, most people already know that privacy is a thing of the past as we said earlier, but I think that I think the last shoe to drop as it pertains to privacy will be some sort of major hack or some sort of major something that's going to allow people to really look at people's algorithms and then judge them through that.

[00:21:46]I know it sounds scary, but I mean, I really do see something like that happening.

[00:21:52]And maybe not in the you know, distant future.

[00:21:56]That's another reason why I put myself out here in the internet so much because you know, at the end of the day, I already know it's going to get exposed. Everything's going to get exposed. The good, the bad, the ugly, the whatever. And even these days, even if you didn't do anything, they can just make some [ __ ] up with some AI and whatever.

[00:22:15]So, we're living in some weird times.

[00:22:18]And to me, you know, my advice is to just uh be as true to yourself as you can possibly be.

[00:22:25]Because the more skeletons you got in your closet, the more things you try to hide, the more things you're not honest to yourself about, man, the more you're going to be exposed when this veil finally, you know, get you know, goes up.

[00:22:43]All right? And the thing is that, you know, this is why I'm not that worried about that time, that moment because I already got myself out there for so long, you know, over 10 years of just me being online and me being really online, you know, like you know, like real real, trying to be as real as possible.

[00:23:00]Um and most people don't do that at all.

[00:23:03]Most people, you know, they're scared to show their true selves online.

[00:23:08]And uh you know, meaning that you know, they'll be on Facebook, you know, being keyboard warrior, you know, saying all kinds of horrible things that they probably won't say in public.

[00:23:17]Even though that is kind of like public these days.

[00:23:20]It's more about, again, what what are you interested in? What are you hiding?

[00:23:24]What are you looking at? What kind of videos are you looking at over and over again?

[00:23:29]And so on and so forth.

[00:23:31]So, that's the thing, guys.

[00:23:33]You know what I mean? Like the algorithm knows you better than you know yourself.

[00:23:38]And either you learn how to curate your own algorithm, you learn how to again, um use this as um you know, like an extension of yourself or it's just going to be a giant closet full of skeletons.

[00:23:55]That, you know, once that it get gets exposed, it's not going to be pretty.

[00:23:59]So, just again be mindful.

[00:24:03]Okay, of what you're doing out there.

[00:24:05]All right, at the end of the day the internet and this new world that we're embarking on is still the wild, wild west.

[00:24:13]All right, despite what people might say out there.

[00:24:16]It's still the wild, wild west.
