I think I think what we kind of basically like Cory took Brock out before um he asked him marry Kesley and like Cory kind of just mentioned some things about what he felt like would be good guidance I guess and that was kind of like a private conversation between the two of them that I feel like you know was >> I don't know if it was good guidance more of an interview >> it [laughter] was an interview >> he was slamming me on everything >> and as far as like Kesley and I go I would say like Kesley I don't know like you've had like some questions just about in general just about >> just other topics and things in marriage like asking me things and I' I've been an open book with everything from day one I feel like I've always been really open about everything >> but like my mom always told me things I needed to know and I don't know it made me feel way better like stepping into the whole marriage thing cuz I was like oh >> I feel like that was another big thing is just open communication with your kids especially in with everything regarding marriage. I mean, just being prepared for everything, you know.

[00:04:40]>> Yeah. I think I love doing like our jobs together. Obviously, it can get stressful and like we can be frustrated with each other, >> but we have the best job in the world just I don't know with each other >> at work and stuff.

[00:05:16]>> And it's like the light is flashing. And anyway, yeah. But >> he goes, "It's too bright.

[00:05:20]>> It's too bright. Turn it. The volume's too loud. TURN IT DOWN A LITTLE BIT." I mean, obviously we've been married a lot longer than you guys have. So, yeah.

[00:05:28]But, um, I think when we were younger and being married, that was like we we could stay awake forever and watch. We did. Do you remember we watched Lost continually? K. You >> We're literally on that show right now.

[00:05:41]>> Oh my gosh. We watched every single like episode. We binged watched it. And we were like, "Next." It was like 11:00, 12:00. And he's like like, "Okay, just one more episode." And then like 1:00, but one more. And so we would stay awake watching all of them cuz it was so good.

[00:05:57]>> But yeah, that was something we did um the beginning when we were young and >> energetic. Now we're just like we're old and we want to sleep. We must be old because literally after one episode we're like, "Okay, we're done.

[00:06:08][laughter] Let's go."

[00:06:09]>> Like it hits 8:00. We're like, "It's our bed."

[00:06:11]>> That's everyone's kind of favorite thing is just we don't have to go home.

[00:06:15]>> Yeah. That's what I was just going to say.

[00:06:17]>> Like my favorite thing is like a sleepover.

[00:06:19]>> You have a sleepover every night.

[00:06:21]>> Yeah.

[00:06:22]>> And I love having sleepovers even after 24 years. I feel like Brock and I, we've only been married 9 months, eight months. And I feel like we have been married for so long. [laughter] >> I know. It actually does.

[00:06:34]>> This girl's like, "I've been married to my husband for like 5 years."

[00:06:37]>> And like, "Oh, we've been dating for >> I was like, we've been dating for seven, but we just got married." Like, it's just like funny.

[00:06:44]>> It's weird. It feels like we've been married for a while, but we've only been married for 8 months.

[00:06:47]>> Okay, so the next question is, how do you know when you found your person?

[00:06:54]Oh my gosh. I feel like so many people ask this and it's like and then you always get the respon response like oh you just know.

[00:07:02]>> But it's true. Like you just know. Like the way I look at it is like if you think about your future and you cannot see them out of your life then I feel like you you should know like okay well they're supposed to be in your life forever.

[00:07:17]>> Yeah.

[00:07:19]>> They just know. They just >> like it's funny because like some there was another question here someone asked and said was it love at first sight for you and I'll be honest when we first like what would you say Corey?

[00:07:41]>> We'll we'll jump we'll sum we'll make the story really quick and fast with not too long. We met in college and I walked in and well I was actually already there. He walked in and sat behind me in a chair and he had his back. You >> know, her story is different than mine.

[00:07:57]>> You gotten most of it, right?

[00:07:59]>> Okay. We walked in with a backwards baseball cap and then you like sat down behind me and then the guy the the teacher asked us to get a phone number from the person in front so we have any assignments that that we could have someone to contact. So, um, Corey asks me for my phone number. I gave it to him. And then he calls me that night and he's all, "Do we have any missing assignments?" I'm like, "We just started school today. Like, why would we have missing assignments?" And then he's like, "Do you want to go to lunch tomorrow?" I'm like, "No."

[00:08:27]And then he's like, "Okay." And I'm like, "Sorry, I have a boyfriend." Cuz I did. And moral of the story is don't give up. Keep trying. You never know.

[00:08:37]>> First impression of Brock. First impression was he came up to me like him and his brother came up to me in the movie theater and I said, "Oh my gosh, look at these little boys. They're like my brother and little.

[00:08:50]>> They're so cute and little. That's like my brother's age."

[00:08:53]>> And she came home and told me she's like, "I met the cutest twins." No, you said the cutest kids. They're twins and they're about Rhett's age. And I'm like >> I was like, "I think they're Rhett's age." Like they were so nice. Like I've never had boys come up to me. They had like a YouTube channel, too. And then I we found out they're the exact same age as me, but they were just so tiny.

[00:09:13]>> Yeah, I had just Wait, did I just turn 13 or something or just turn?

[00:09:17]>> Yeah, you just probably turned 13 and I was >> No, wait. Or maybe you were about to turn Oh, no. Yeah, you probably just turned 13. I was turning 14.

[00:09:38]>> I think our first impression of Brock, though, was like, Yeah. I mean, I I think I mean, obviously, we didn't know at the time that you'd be ending up being our future son-in-law, but I always thought he was like a cute kid and he was just like >> one of our such a nice kid. [00:09:53]>> I thought you were just like such a nice kid, you know? I'm like, he's so nice.

[00:09:56]Like, but he came over our house.

[00:09:58]>> They were cool. They were >> That was one cool twin brothers.

[00:10:01]>> In fact, I remember what Corey said about you guys when we first met you.

[00:10:04]He's like, "Those two have like about you and Boston." He's like, "Those two have so much potential like to just kill it on YouTube." And he's like, and I remember he said that. He's like, >> "There it is."

[00:10:15]>> Yeah. And you you guys totally did.

[00:10:17]>> What is one tiny thing that the other person does that makes you feel special?

[00:10:22]It's funny cuz our our things are probably different >> because of like being newly weds versus now. Like the things we look at are like special. I'm like, "Oh, I like I like that." You know what I mean? I feel like sometimes he'll just like randomly comp compliment me and I just think that's like the nicest thing.

[00:10:38]>> That's cute. Yeah, I think that's cute when spontaneous like compliments. For sure. I think that's one of them, too.

[00:10:43]>> Or just like little surprises. He's always just trying to surprise us.

[00:10:48]>> We We literally told each other, "Okay, like for our seventh year."

[00:10:53]>> Yeah. Our seven year anniversary came up so fast. We're like, "Okay, let's just not worry about getting anything. We'll just go shopping." Mhm.

[00:10:58]>> He I wake up to like flowers and chocolates and I'm like, "Oh my gosh, Brooke, I literally I was so grateful."

[00:11:05]But I was I looked at him and I was like, "Are you kidding me?" Like, "We promised we wouldn't get anything." But I should have known that he would have done that cuz he always does that.

[00:11:14]>> I would say that's kind of my same thing with you. Like the comp like compliments like a spontaneous compliment. My favorite crack.

[00:11:30]First of all, I have this routine at night when I get into bed. I don't know what it is, but my back just starts itching like crazy.

[00:11:35]>> I'm like, Cory, hurry, hurry, scratch my back.

[00:11:37]>> She turns into a grizzly bear every night.

[00:11:39]>> I'm like, hurry, scratch, hurry.

[00:11:40][laughter] He says, scratch like, oh my gosh. Every night, Shre. And I'm like I'm like, [laughter] >> no. And it's not just one spot. Like, it's every five minutes.

[00:11:49]>> I'm like, go. He's like I'm like, no.

[00:11:52]>> She makes me go so hard my fingers are starting to burn.

[00:11:56]My mom [laughter] My mom has skin like she got thick skin.

[00:11:59]>> She has very thick skin. I go and like try to help her with the dishes. Burning hot. Showers. Burning hot. And I feel like I have pretty hot showers.

[00:12:08]>> Like Brock has said like the showers can get hot, but like so hot.

[00:12:12]>> Oh my gosh. My mom's showers are even like 140°. [laughter] >> I'm like I'm burning right now. That's so funny. What changed your perspective in your life? Like what's an experience that's changed our perspective in life?

[00:12:26]>> My mission.

[00:12:27]>> Mission. Good one.

[00:12:28]>> Yeah. I just feel like it helped me realize like well just like it helped me realize what was important in life and what really didn't matter. And then also just like it helped me see like the beauty in life, I guess, if that makes sense.

[00:12:42]>> And like what I should be grateful for.

[00:12:43]Like there's literally so many things I should be grateful for. So love that.

[00:12:59]>> Yeah. Yeah. I would definitely say like mission, marriage, and plane crash. I thought those were like big.

[00:13:07]>> So, I think Yeah, there's always like big environment change or >> something something changes.

[00:13:12]>> Yeah, I agree that. And I think ours is the same. losing losing Logan was a huge um put life into perspective a lot I I think for both of us. Yeah.

[00:13:22]>> And I think COVID also did too. I think not being able to see your family that was that was hard.

[00:13:26]>> Oh yeah. I would say >> that was rough like not being able to see my parents and stuff. They you know and having Thanksgiving without them that year that was rough but I think it also just made you realize what was important. You know family is family is everything.

[00:13:38]>> Yeah.

[00:13:39]>> That was that was hard that year. That was so sad. I hated that year.

[00:13:43]>> 2020. I hated 2020.

[00:13:46]I kind of liked it.

[00:13:49]>> I didn't have to go to school.

[00:13:50]>> Well, I know that part was fun. Just normal life was weird.

[00:13:53]>> A lot still has a lot still hasn't recovered. Like movies haven't recovered.

[00:13:58]>> But the thing is the thing is Brock and I love movies and every time we go it's like it just shows like how much we actually appreciate them because we couldn't do it for so long.

[00:14:07]>> True. True. But but I feel like the quality of movies went down during co like the quality of movies they weren't making them like they used to. So many good movies back then and so many good TV shows and none none of that anymore.

[00:16:38]>> But this is hard. If you want to get married in the summer, you do you. Cuz like summer is so awesome. But I really wanted to get married in the fall. So we got married October. And I'm so glad we did because it's starting to get cold here in Utah. And so I'm like, this is the perfect time to go on like trips.

[00:16:56]>> No, I was yawning. I'm so tired today.

[00:16:58]But anyways, I think the best time to go on a honeymoon is either spring or fall because it's like you can go to places.

And then honeymoon, I don't know. I just like beaches though cuz I don't live by one. But if you live by one, I've heard people are like, I want to go to the mountains.

[00:17:33]>> Yeah, >> we went to Cancun.

[00:17:35]>> Yeah, it was fun. I also say it was pretty I feel like Mexico is always pretty like budget friendly and stuff, too.

[00:17:44]>> Cancun. Uh, >> you get like an all-inclusive and I when we were first married went to Hawaii down where did we stay? We stayed in the Aahu and then >> we stayed in Aahu and Wy Ki in the Rainbow Hilton for two nights was it?

[00:17:58]>> Yeah. And then >> we went and saw the sites. So we went Pearl Harbor. We went >> PCC to the temple. Went and I saw all that.

[00:18:07]>> And then we flew to Maui and stayed in Maui for five nights.

[00:18:10]>> That was that was my favorite because >> so we wanted to go we neither of us had been to Hawaii. So we wanted to go see the sites >> in Wiki and then we wanted to go chill in Maui.

[00:18:18]>> And people did say that they're like do that. But I wouldn't stay longer than like three days in the city. No. Then you want to go to Maui and more of your relaxed.

[00:18:25]>> We went and stayed there at the Marriott and Panopali.

[00:18:27]>> Yeah. And then we also did the volcano.

[00:18:30]We drove up to the volcano. That was really cool. And watch >> very cold.

[00:18:35]>> So cold. Really?

[00:18:36]>> We were in our We were in our We were >> You know, it's 90 down at the beach every day. And when you go up at 4, you have to go up at like 4:00 in the morning >> to watch the sunrise.

[00:18:45]>> And it's cold.

[00:18:46]>> It was freezing. And we didn't know that. And we had our Jeep top off and we're driving up. We're all freezing.

[00:18:55]>> Yeah. So, they tell you when you go to the volcano, make sure you take jackets, sweaters.

[00:18:59]>> That's funny. But yeah, that was probably my favorite thing.

[00:19:02]>> And it's windy because it's before the sun comes up, it gets really soon as the sun starts to come up, it gets really windy.

[00:19:06]>> Yeah, we were not prepared for it. Let's just put it that way. Clothing wise and everything. Was not prepared for that.

[00:19:10]There's this question. It says, "What are some strict rules Kesley's parents and Brock's parents had?"

[00:19:16]Ooh, I had to be home before the sun went down, >> which was when we were serious.

[00:19:22]>> Winter time and it goes down to like 6 on my way home.

[00:19:26]>> I know. I know. Well, that was just when we were seriously dating.

[00:19:30]>> Yeah. But they never kept to it. So, >> yeah.

[00:19:35]>> Actually, you were really good about going home on time, though. Like, I remember like sometimes cuz your mom and dad like to go to bed early >> and I think I remember you leaving the house like at 9:00. like you knew you had to be home before your parents like by 9:30 or something like that. Like he would leave early.

[00:19:49]>> He was always really respectful of of that and I and like of rules and stuff.

[00:19:54]I'm trying to think if there's any like crazy strict rules that we had. I think I think over time for sure we've lightened up on a lot of >> Yeah, they they lightened up a ton with me. I feel like >> but I mean I guess I could say like we had to like put our phones >> Yeah.

[00:20:11]>> Yeah. like 9:00 I'd have like >> just cuz like was it 9 or 10 we put the phones in our room >> like 10.

[00:20:17]>> It wasn't for anything like serious. It was just more of like we my dad could see the change in our attitude in the mornings.

[00:20:26]>> And was like you you were on your phone, weren't you? Like you got to go to bed.

[00:20:29]And so like it was more of just like so we could we go to bed cuz they will they'll stay the teenagers will stay on their phones all day.

[00:20:36]>> You got to disconnect >> scroll Tik Tok. When you were a senior in high school, yeah, whatever have your phone. Like I feel like she was super responsible and she'd go to bed.

[00:21:01]>> And I'm like, "Why? If you're sloughing, why are you asking permission?" Like I never asked my parents to slough school.

[00:21:08]I just slough school. But like I >> sometimes I'd rather not know about it.

[00:21:12]>> I know. But I think it's funny that our kids are telling us it's like I'm going to slap. Is that okay? I'm like I've never I I just thought it was so funny.

[00:21:18]My kids feel like they should just ask us. What is like one thing that your partner does that makes you mad?

[00:21:23]>> I don't know what >> I feel like Kesley audibly rages like like she'll be on her phone and she'll be like [clears throat] [laughter] >> like you do that thing.

[00:21:32]>> Yes. It's just like bro you don't need to say anything like you're good.

[00:21:36]>> That is literally Dad. Like I'm all like I can tell he's stressing. I'm [clears throat] like, "OH MY GOSH, WHAT'S WRONG? WHAT'S WRONG?" He literally gets >> when my phone's being stupid and it's not working. I get so pissed off. And so I literally yell at my phone.

[00:21:51]>> I look over at Danny's just like rolling his neck. I'm just freaking out.

[00:21:56]>> It's just like I don't know cuz like when you're when you get upset I'm like, "Bro, okay. I have to freaking take care of her and periods."

[00:22:08]>> Cuz you get something.

[00:22:09]>> Well, fine. If you're going that route, he holds grudges like no person I ever know. Like he like something will happen. We get in a fight and instantly like it's fine.

[00:22:20]>> I hold grudges like a normal person.

[00:22:22]Okay, I'll let that all that stuff go.

[00:22:24]But the thing is K is just like the easiest and quickest forgiver, which I love about her. But she can be so mad, raging, like yelling at me and then like 10 minutes later she's like, "What do you want to go eat? I don't feel the pain. Like [laughter] I thought you were when I was angry. I was when I was hungry.

[00:22:41]>> Yeah. It's usually I was hangry or I was just like upset or stressed about something. Then 2 seconds later I can control it and I'm like I'm fine.

[00:22:49]>> Mom does that a lot.

[00:22:50]>> Hold grudges.

[00:22:52]>> Just you one moment we're enemies and then the next it's like >> what are we doing? [laughter] >> We're besties.

[00:22:58]>> I'm like wait it's over. Like we're >> it's the same with my siblings. It must just be a girl thing. I don't know. I just don't freaking care. Like I get mad for a second and then it doesn't matter anymore. Not worth the fight. It's like your siblings. Like Reese can bug me, Perry can bug me, Ren can bug me so bad and then two seconds later I'm like, "Want to go get Starbucks?"

[00:23:17]>> That's seriously so true.

[00:23:18]>> That's true. Like even you and I will be that way sometimes when we've had disagreements and then the next thing we're like just fine.

[00:23:22]>> Yeah.

[00:23:23]>> So it's funny. I don't know. It must be a girl thing. [laughter] >> But like holds grudges.

[00:23:29]>> Grudges. I'm just like a normal person.

[00:23:31]>> No, that's not normal. I just I just don't get happy like 5 minutes later.

[00:23:36]>> It takes a minute. Like you got that's that's >> you just took it out of us. It's like you just beat us up and now we're just supposed to be all good and say okay.

[00:23:44]>> Literally that's totally dad.

[00:23:46]>> I feel seen now. Thanks.

[00:23:47]>> Oh my gosh. Is there anything that bugs you that I do >> that bugs me?

[00:23:51]>> Yeah.

[00:23:51]>> Probably the nighttime routine.

[00:23:54]>> Just the back scratch.

[00:23:55]>> No, you're out at like 9:30 and it's the end of the world at 9:30.

[00:24:02]So you don't like when I get mad at you.

[00:24:03]If I walk in the room, you get mad at me. If I walk out of the room, you get mad at me. If I turn on the TV, you get mad at me.

[00:24:09]>> If I don't turn on the TV, you get mad at me.

[00:24:12]>> And and then by morning, you know, you remember you did it anyway.

[00:24:15]>> We've talked about this in another video, but I get annoyed when I hear him making noise and like breathing and stuff and like and like chewing his food sometimes. It's not.

[00:24:25]>> So basically just living.

[00:24:26]>> It's not all the time. It's just recent.

[00:24:29]It's just recently. Like why is he breathing so loud?

[00:24:32]>> There has been times where Brock's eating his food.

[00:24:35]>> There will be times that Brooks he doesn't know this cuz I'm like you know what he's human. I try to just cool down but like sometimes I'll look at him when he's chewing and I'm like I do the same thing with dad. It's only when you go like this.

[00:24:49][laughter] >> I do that like annoyingly to annoy you.

[00:24:53]>> But you don't I don't think you realize that you do it more than when you just annoy me.

[00:24:58]>> What is one thing you could change about your wedding day? um drinking water.

[00:25:01][laughter] >> Yeah, we always say it sounds so it sounds so dumb.

[00:25:04]>> It sounds so dumb, but like we did not drink water and I was so freaking sick and I hear all about my dance party and how how much fun it was and everyone's like it was the best dance party ever and I was like I wish I could have enjoyed it but I kept like going in and out because I felt I literally thought I was going to throw up. Anything you wish you could change about your actual wedding though, like your wedding like any wish you had a different dress, wish you had different flowers, wish you did a different cake, like any of that. M Maybe you'll change your mind in the future cuz I I know when I first got married I was fine with it, but I look back now and I'm like I wish I wish had a different wedding dress. I wish I would have worn my hair down. I wish cuz I had my hair up like and I wish I would have had a more fitting dress versus a puffy one.

[00:25:43]>> I liked I liked our cake but I wish it I wish it was just a little different.

[00:25:48]>> Cory and I got married and we had our wedding um we didn't actually have a reception. We just had a wedding lunchon and I love not having reception. My parents gave us the money instead and we we did it that way and I I've been trying to if I if any of my kids say they didn't want a reception I'm like sweet I'll give you the money instead.

[00:26:06]Like >> the reception is the best part though.

[00:26:08]>> I know. That's the only thing I really I have no idei period sleep or something.
