The Good Samaritan: True Neighborly Love

[00:00:00]In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus shares a parable to answer an important question: Who is my neighbor? A man traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho is attacked by robbers who strip him, beat him severely, and leave him half dead on the roadside. First, a priest comes down the road, sees the injured man, [music] but chooses to cross to the other side, avoiding him.

[00:00:26]Finally, [music] a Samaritan, a person from a group despised by Jews at that time, comes near.

[00:00:32]Moved with deep compassion, the Samaritan approaches the wounded man, cleans and treats his wounds with oil and wine, and carefully bandages them.

[00:00:42]He then lifts the man onto [music] his own animal and takes him to an inn for further care. The Samaritan pays the innkeeper to look after [music] the man and promises to cover any additional expenses upon his return.

[00:00:54]Through this story, Jesus teaches that true [music] neighborly love goes beyond social divisions, race, and prejudice.

[00:01:01]The real neighbor is the one who shows mercy and kindness to those in need, regardless of their background. The message is clear. We should all strive to act with compassion and care for others, just as the Good Samaritan did.
