13 years of prayer, a broken marriage, and a radical change.

[00:00:00]My wife prayed for me to change for 13 years. I never changed.

[00:00:05]I ran her battery dry.

[00:00:08]I ran her out of gas. She didn't have a revelation to handle me. She was a young Christian when we met. And I didn't feed it. I taxed it. I called her I called it love. I called her my wife and told her I loved her. But I didn't even know what love was cuz God wasn't in me.

[00:00:27]But it was easy to say, "I love you."

[00:00:28]Because it was emotion that was driven by need.

[00:00:32]And she was in position to maybe help me meet those needs. So I reduced her identity to serving me. And I'm on the earth to love her. And now she's in my life to meet my needs. And she can fail me as much as she can bless me. And I can say I love her and just as quick curse her.

[00:00:52]>> That is so self-centered and demonic.

[00:00:54]And we tend to do it all the time after we're saved.

[00:01:02]>> She prayed for me to change for 13 years and I never changed. When she gave up on me and said, "I'm done with this marriage." I said, "Great. I've been waiting for this. I've wasted my time with you anyway. What am I even doing with you?" And I was so mean, arrogant, vanity. It was terrible.

[00:01:19]And she went in the bedroom and made herself not cry and said, "I'm done letting this man make me cry." And she, you could see her just harden herself on the porch as I degraded her and berated her. And she said she went in the bedroom and she said, "And I'm done with you, too. I am done with you. I prayed to you for 13 years. 13 years I prayed to you and you've done nothing. You have allowed me and these children to go through hell and you've done nothing. He's worse than he was. I don't need you. She walked off. See, people in pain understand her language. They're saying, "See, see, that's what makes me so mad about God.

[00:02:04]Why is he Five long months goes by, I get born again. She's livid.

[00:02:17]I get transformed. I'm talking born again. I didn't pray a prayer to go to heaven. I got saved.

[00:02:25]>> Come on.

[00:02:25]>> And I was changed.

[00:02:26]>> And my friends were freaked out. My co-workers were freaked out. Everybody was freaked out cuz I was changed. Made people uncomfortable because I was different. They're wondering who brainwashed me, who'd you get hooked up with, what caught are you a part of?

[00:02:44]cuz I'm changed. And they're uncomfortable when you're changed. When you're not like them, they're uncomfortable.

[00:02:50]>> But my wife was livid because she thought I was pulling a stunt to make the family think that I was the good guy and she was the bad girl. And at least I'm trying. And she's a witch.
