I think it only took the vice president recently to add a little bit of energy to it calling manufacturers you know trying to draw a line between retailers manufacturer and get brain participating. She wasn't able to get a handle on it. So I think I think she should case go back to that job and then not go back to Amy but rather march forward pretty much try to find someone who can kind of do a pretty great job because we talking something here we talk about commerce but min commerce everybody talk about commerce commerce nobody really talks about industrialization because this is period now we have to modernize the economy we have to industrialize the economy many of our sectors are coming online local manufacturing food processing uh mining sector so We really need somebody who want larger bigger vision uh who will really take this economy into a new direction. Take ministry of commerce in a new direction. Now we focus on commer price we need to do that but somebody who have a vision to begin to industrialize the economy and move in a new direction on that. So we need a broader vision moving forward. I don't think we have to go back uh that's my view. We have to go back to I mean I think that story is over. We need to move on.

It led me to think about what happens again when the Australian government leaves Liberia.
What's going to happen to all of the data that they have? Um I appreciate their technical expertise but again you know uh what's going to happen to the security aspect the data that they're going to collect uh where is it going to be stored uh how they're going to measure if Liberians are learning to maintain their own data and then there as said that was the first time I heard this that there's a 3565 kind of agreement with this organization I'd like to know more about that because uh this 35 probably doing the same kind of thing giving a lot of money to these people. Uh I read the letter today first posted I think my former minister to and then I started seeing the news articles going around and I tried to to to dig a little bit deeper to understand what is going on. So broadly generally speaking I think I I will still need to address myself a little bit more detail as this situation unfold. But my understanding first of all is that this is an investigation.
So, this is not like uh an indictment or a trial uh getting underway. I think this is still in an investigative stage. Correct me if I'm wrong. Uh uh anyone here? So, I'm sure this is an investigative stage. uh the asset recovery is trying to learn more ask more question and collect testimony or account from uh uh uh what I mean people they may consider as uh related to this matter on this right subsidy thing now you see I I I will make a few point here the first point is that you see the some of the error I think the the the or the challenges or the difficulty the unit party or the government continuing to face with the corruption thing or the anti-corruption fight for me is is the lack of appropriate communication. Now, are you going to make this another Samuel TW thing again, or are you going to make it a a blind and impartial investigation into a potentially uh uh criminal something that happened?
I don't know the detail around that, but this investigation has to travel that path. You know, you have to be able to investigate a matter that you're not clear about with the intention of getting to the heart of the problem or getting to the heart of the truth or heart of the situation to unravel the truth. So in that respect, I think the asset recovery has has a legitimate mandate. We pay taxpayer money to the asset recovery for a reason and and we want them to be able to investigate questionable wealth issue. I mean wealth they have question mark over that is their legal function. they should carry on with their job. But I would encourage people who are engaged in this including entire anti-corruption fight to deal in a professional way to depoliticize it to take out the partisan energy from inside and make it look like somebody is targeting Samuel 12 for political reason and try to ask the question they need to ask in line with their job but to be able to do this professionally, legitimately legally. That's why I say for for the for the for the point I wouldn't come out and dismiss and say oh after recovery should do no work. No we pay them taxpayer money they have the right to ask question but I think they should proceed uh in ways that will not send a mixed message to the population making it look like you targeting one Sam and doing a political man. That has to be uh the approach for very professional and impartial investigation into what happened and raffle the truth and let the labreno know the truth of the matter. If nothing sinister happened, nothing criminal happen, people should be m aware of that. So that has that will be my initial comment and my broad comment on the matter so far.

At the end of the day, we still have the same situation where we have a country that is far behind the rest of the countries in the world.
We are among the 10th poorest nation in the world.
Many of my colleagues who have traveled to Liberia in the last 6 months return the country is difficult and is hard but yet them still we still getting information of few individuals who are sing government money into their personal covers.
This war must be must be a war that every Liberian support. But here's the problem.
Each time this government comes up with placard names and and and sum of money associated with those names, the investigation does not match the conversation.
So we have seen a situation where the LCC are giving certificate saying that these people are not corrupt.
We saw the situation where the court of law last week or early this week stated that the government had insufficient evidence.
So I hope we take this fight against corruption seriously.
This is not a showcasing of showmanship.
It is the soul of the nation we are struggling for.
And those who come up with this loud announcement must also come up with the proper investigation with the proper evidence so that we can start Mr. Benedict Cumins because we are not going to announce people names in the press that we don't have full evidence about.
We are not going to be seen as a political wish horn government but we are be will be seen as a government who wants to bring this situation of cor minimize not bring it will never end minimize the situation of corruption in our country and make it difficult for people to make up the mind that they want to steal from from our country.
we get done. Investor are afraid to come to our country because people want their money also.

Yeah, I think Jacob make, you know, some very strong points and, you know, he's right that it is the job of the asset recovery team to to go ahead and investigate and recover government assets and they they have a mandate to do that. Uh they've been paid by past years to do that. The problem is that many of these investigations are mared by um conversations around political wish and and that's becoming of a problem. Now we have another Samuel D case. You know, when you when you follow the last case, this should have been about money that was supposed to be uh was supposedly stolen or diver from the library and people it be a Samuel Twe thing. This is another investigation that is becoming a sim. And if you follow all the unity party after this Freddy every single person was talking about this this hasn't end going after Samuel TW and now you see another investigation that they inviting Sam TW. Samuel TW was a minister of finance the chief dispersement officer republic of Liberia. For me, I'm like, how many unless you are finding a link to find Samuel TW at the other end of of on the receiving end of of money, like how many other investigations are you going to call Samuel T? Because like any major investigation into money, government money transfer, Samuel T is going to be at, you know, at the center. I mean, at this point for me, if I was Samuel Tu, unless I've been subpoena, I'm not cooperating with with any uh any investigation at this point. I would just uh uh you know remain silent if the government has a case they can take that case to court because this is just you can't make this thing you know the for me you can just make this thing about su is you know I follow composition on social media and you saying people are like at very very high level of unit party who are saying now we're going to get you we didn't get you on $6.2 $2 million. Now we get it. The foundation itself of the state when the $20 million uh investigation is questionable because firstly we haven't seen any document to say $20 million was appropriated in the budget.
So as a recovery is saying we're investigating $20 million first show us where in the budget uh $20 million was placed. So then we begin the conversation. So I think the foundation and where um area has come out to say I know twin as minister of finally he transferred 21 million dollar to commerce for for for rest subsidy. So it's it's that and everything we want the asset recovery to do its job but we also want this to be free uh from political pressure for political uh uh interference. So the government has to be serious and that's why I think KL Martin himself is not was not the appropriate is not the appropriate candidate uh person to be to be leading the assa recovery uh Fred you needed somebody independent because clav was in a very very u you know huge legal fight with folks from the CDC u you know when he came so for me I don't think he is this person I think there's a lot of vendetta there um the president should have found somebody uh on the neutral But again, like Jacob said, we want to see the government agencies do their job, but we want to see it done professionally. Uh we want to see it done in an interest of Liberian people and really some truth seeeking and not um just on pressure for unity party folks to after political openness.

S being finance minister or dispersing money to government entity does not excuse him from being linked to crimes that were committed and you know he also presided over major major schemes that took place. He served as head serve as co-chair to different committees that were set up by the president. And when you serve in those kind of leadership position as far as minister also you are to see the conclusion of of those matters. So being justice bre does not exclude exclude you from playing your role as co-chair to the committee on the fin that the the the money for the rest subsidy. So why money that you dispress the the reason why you were placed there is to provide some level of oversight.
So if something went on, you should have you should have a conclusive report showing whatever that was dispersed and wherever they went. You hold all those that you gave the money accountable.
That's why that's why your committee was set up and that's why you were placed there. The specific reason why you were placed there as finance minister is not just to go and money and go lay back and drink beer and say my job is done. And you know you saw the same thing with the 25 million mobile. He presided over that as chairman. At the end of the day he praised he sung a lot of praises to that process but we saw how it ended. We saw the other report that surrounded that particular report that particular you know mop up exercise. So there a lot of things su needs to answer and you know he can go to court as much as possible.
If he gets acquainted by jurors fair enough but he needs to answer to a lot of things. CDC mismanage that country.
Sam was the at the helm of most of those you know financial scheme. He needs to answer. He needs to clear his name. So fairly there's nothing wrong with dragging to code 100 times if he's tired to 100 different scheme that took place under under the regime. There's nothing wrong with dragging to go 100 times. And that should serve as a send of message to other finance minister and others that in government that when you are given a position of trust, you don't just recklessly run the show, you know.
So he needs to go and answer. They like Clinton advising him. He refused that he cannot go to the investigation is fair.
If government got on him, proceed directly to court and build up your evidence and go to court and formally charge them instead of trying to have preliminary investigations. You know, it's fair to have preliminary investigation, but he can clear name.
But if he if he chooses not to not to be part of the preliminary investigation, it's fair for him because he might also say something that might incriminate himself. So he should let them go to court directly and address the mother there.

Um, I'm a believer in the literature and the literature tends to inform how we look at whatever democratic dispensation we have.
Quite recently, the government of Liberia has consistently failed the rule of law on the MCC uh scorecard.
I think is a point of reflection and in failing the rule of law, there have been some of these furious allegations against the president that the president influences the the legislature, that president boy controls the judiciary, that he is the one who ensures that outcomes from courts are against of all for people and many things have been dead.
But I like to say that the equator of Samuel D2 is a victory for democracy in Liberia.
And I believe beyond being a victory for democracy is a bolstering of President Boy Democratic credentials.
You have, if not the foremost, one of the foremost opposition politicians going to court under President Buy and with a jury of his peers, he has been acquitted.
Those who have accused President Boya of controlling the judiciary several times. Here is a case where D12 went to court and was acquired vindicated by a jury of his peers under president boy. I think this is a celebration for president boy democratic credentials and it's important in the context of the rule of law for us to highlight this very important issue.
No prosecutor goes to convict.
prosecutors go to render a case to bring about fair and equitable justice. At the end of the day, jurors will determine what is the outcome of that process. And so I want us to see everything that's happening now, including this letter from Art is an investigation.
I read the letter. They let us say that it's an allegation and the last time I checked under law allegations are merely saying we think you did something wrong.
Something must have gone wrong. We want you to come and say to us why or why not something went wrong. So increasingly what I'm seeing as somebody who supports the president that the space for democratic pluralism rule of law support for the rule of law continue to expand.
President Ba allows the system to function and I think all of us should take you from this.
All of us should take you that it does not matter who we are or what we are.
Those are all who are the author children you know for president boy and have come to support him. We are more or less you know energized when we see that under this dispensation justice can be served. It doesn't matter who is called to the court. I mean if the jury appears say you free to go you are free to go.
And if there is a process that requires you to answer like the Arab process, you are invited. And I've always said to people or quote whether Quasan judicial order invite you. I would I agree with the my brother the American lawyer saying don't go there. I always tell people whenever any tribunal invites you to hear your side, go to that tribunal and submit upon the records of that tribunal what your side is. It's important. So I will ask Arab invite you go to Arab tell what is it THAT YOU KNOW OR YOU DON'T know and let them have it on record but I tell you all the things that are happening in our country is a victory for democracy under president boy because if it were other people the kinds of people who are primarily leading the opposition will not get a quitter Thank you very much.

you know, Stanton, uh, you know, the difference between, um, regimes, uh, the regime before the CDC and the CDC regime and this regime is that we see more quest and urging for accountability today than we saw in yesterday.
So we as Liberians must employ and employ the regime of today for asking for transparency and accountability of public stewardship. What is happening today should have happened uh 8 years back or nine years back or 10 years back. So it's very important that when people serve in public office or want to serve and hold public trust they must be able to account for their time of stewardship.
So as you know as you have stated that I had the privilege to work at the ministry of commerce and industry and that ministry is part of this investigation that is ongoing right now.
So um on the basis of that I would have loved to comment quite copiously on this matter but I would like to say that I would abbreviate my comments and um given that investigation is ongoing there uh it would not be necessary to make any elaborate comment at all on this particular matter in voke but I will now um be prepared to participate to talk about other topics uh that may come along in the conversation tonight.
I want to thank you for the opportunity to make these comments and I want to plead with the listening audience, the Liberian people directly that of course normally I am well opinion opinionated and dialogical. I like to express myself quite well but bear with me tonight that this matter is a matter that is on active investigation and I wouldn't like to delve into it uh going forward. No matter how you want to justify the lie you told, that lie can never become truth.
So I listened to one of my colleagues talk so much about the democratic credentials of President Brack simply because President Bai took Sat and the court exonerated him.
So we don't measure the democratic credentials by people only on the basis that you want the court to equate the person and then we gave you a codus start.
If I were a president, I don't think anyone should measure my democratic credential because I took Winfrey Russell to quote when I know Winfrey Russell did nothing simply because I want the court to acquit him and then I come and say my democratic credentials. It doesn't make sense.
You take people to court for legitimate reasons for which you have facts.
All of us know that Sam got nothing to do with $6.2 million as a dispersement minister. He dispersed it. But President Bai wants the likes of my colleague to come on the show and say, "Oh, his democratic credential is good. They exonerated him." So, President Ba talking to code despite knowing that Sam knows nothing about it.
Let's go to our current laughable level.
I don't know and I appreciate the fact that the show is so unique. Today we are talking without any interruption before I end if you could kindly do me a favor.
We appreciate you know you got three uh documents if you can just flash those for me cuz I want to base my quick uh argument on this. The documents I wanted you to flash should be one the budget as at the time the resid issue started and the budget as at the time it ended.
The right subsidy issue started in 2021.
There is only one document in the republic of Liberia where money spent from government is shown.
That document is the budget.
The budget is not an optional document.
It is a mandated document from the minister of finance to act in accordance with that law. And the budget is signed by the president. The budget is passed into law by the national legislature.
If you were to go on the budget stand, what the paper shows, what the budget shows, no other document anywhere, it shows that in 2021 for the rice subsidy under the second supplementary budget, the government paid $3.2 million for rice subsidy. That's what the document shows.
The second document which is the end of the rest subsidy time the government paid five 7.5 million.
If anyone here who enter kindergarten was to add 3.2 million plus 7.5 million I am very sure that person will get 10.7 million. asset recovery is calling Samuel 12 to answer about 20.5 million. So my dear people, >> can can I just end my can I just end?
>> Yeah, please. My dear people of Liberia, DESPITE THE FACT SHOWING THAT Sam un spent 10.7 million, asset recovery is calling him to answer to 20.5 million just so they can say the law is working because Samuel was exonerated when they know there is no 20.5 million. I think President Wa needs to go back and understand the government. It's a sad time.

NOW THIS IS THE WHOLE THING IN CONCERT with others under investigation to approve and process payment of the ministry for the rest subsidy that WAS ALLEGEDLY DIVERTED. DIVERTED. NOW this is so unique. I'm not going to ask a recovery side.

So if they call me two times to explain my position and I show up two time I didn't do anything, I didn't do anything and two times you will find I did nothing. It's better for the country than for you not to call me if you suspect I did something. Yes. The flip side that's very dangerous. The flip side is those who have the responsibility to hold others accountable when they don't do that not only is their relationship their duty but they're failing in their responsibility and failing the people.
And I just want to remind all of us that in this country failure of that sort has a face. That's my way. That's my that unemployed people that are hungry people. So call you go and answer. It's nothing political. We're trying to deal with a difficult situation. Our country is called massive corruption and impunity.

2024 there were 3,00 3.7 million that were allocated for public hearing for legislature.
By the end of the following year, we saw 10 million that was paid.
So if we are now curing budget to some people to see why money was not paid for certain procedure, uh I want to be educated and I will I think I will have the conversation with the financial people. But let me just speak to one issue. Someone said uh Sam dis to commerce and as the head Sam to be held responsible for how comrade use the money. I think that was stupid and sorry for my language.

>> Commerce ministry commerce ministry is the statutory ministerial entity on our laws. You cannot hold the finance minister for anything that the commerce minister the comat minister does. And I stand to be corrected for all of you educated people here as a head of an entity as a minister the commerce minister except there is a clear indication that finance did not pay the money or finance did not turn the money over to commerce then we should be having a conversation with I I I think that is what I am thinking but again like Dr. Brook said it is a good day for our country. I think people should be called where there are skep uh you know uh skepticisms where there are doubts to clarify. But one thing we should not do as people is begin to run up verdict judgments before those people come to those entities that calling them for clarification or whatsoever. I just wanted to emphasize that uh our country is feeling uh rule of laws honor the millennium challenge that to send us a signal. We should be looking to see Why is our country failing even though we're doing all these things people and making bringing them to justice? I don't think we should be failing rule of laws if we are doing the right thing people to justice. Thank you very much.

Stan we had other conversation we won't put it up here you know for public consumption you know what I said in our conversation but what I will say is that prosecutions are not meant to convict that when you when someone there's an allegation of malfeence fraud whatsoever the whole idea of the prosecution is not to convict in fact the code of moral ethics of lawyer rule 14 is very clear the role of a lawyer of a prosecutor is not to conflict is to ensure that justice is served. Let's take for example the Pinsville Cafet Corporation Municipal Authority has charged each water factory in the Republic of Lad 110 United.
So if you have let's get something United States dollars for one machine.
So if the factory has about 10 machines, it means that they are going to to pay $1,100 United States dollars for municipal tax to the city of that is outrageous. We have met them. Nothing has been done about it. We met the vice president. We told them about the situation. the poly stakeholder meeting including the commerce minister the L boss uh the moi was in that meeting and uh EPA was in that meeting. EPA has been charging us for $225 United States dollar permit environmental permit and now they are saying that we should add another $250 which is amounting to $475 United States dollars that we have to test our water to a third party laboratory.

Some places you go water is cheap. Some announcements we hear, oh this is the price uh you know is 80 LD for water. So it makes it hard.
Who do we believe? It makes it hard for us to to know you know exactly who to believe. And so I think that they should come together have a roundt discussion and add the voice and and one more step they should go they should go to places where people are increasing or hijacking the price of water for their own good you know for to make money so that they should be able to monitor this uh uh uh uh water price. If we do that, we'll be doing good for the Liberian people.

So, the kitchen table issues uh uh Stanton is what's going to make or break this government. We got to turn things around. They got to be able to make it where people can afford the basic thing like getting safe drinking water to drink and and you know and and it's it's it's it's incumbent upon this government you know uh to to improve the economy to do the to to do that to do some things differently to make kitchen table commodities affordable and water should not be one of them. translation people are getting poorer because you need more money to get the same thing. I will caution the government to be very careful in that department. This whole water thing, they need to reverse that and make this easier and more affordable for people.

And I think the government has to do better. And like I said, if the government was prioritizing what they should be prioritizing, which is these kind of economic issues, instead of running all over the place, uh, since this government come came to power, they've been doing all all the the poverty has just been all the wrong things. If they were not running behind for fire to get from the capital building, uh, they were, you know, not they were after or, you know, they were doing all these other things. So, but these are the bread and butter issues that are important to Liberian people and the government has to do better with this water issue. It has to be uh less expensive. It has to be accessible and the government has to do better.

He does uh when there are challenges within the delivery of water, you can fault him on some of the things he says and I will consign that to the enormity of the task. The fact that providing water not just in Monrovia because I know the water and seaw wall has endeavored to go to the southeast. They explore Grand Jia, they were in Maryland as well in other counties and water is going to those counties. So when there are challenges when a 36 in pipe you know is broken he communicates he puts it out there and people know that a pipe is broken and that's why they are not getting water and that is a challenge now to simplify or try to oversimplify the fact that the price of a bag and I'm not saying that Liberian should pay more for water but we all know what is happening in the world right now and we can just brush it off. Everywhere in the world, prices are going up because imports are becoming more expensive.
Petroleum that we travel with to move goods and services from one point to another has gone up and the prices will go up. It's important for people to know Ministry of Commerce along with LPRC and I think a few others have adjusted prices three times trying to subsidize prices in Liberia. Why aren't we telling that story that government is doing its part to stabilize prices and the fact that water has increased is because these are the challenges. Now if somebody wants to equate this to the democratic process then is they saying let's not have election because elections are too expensive or whenever you say to vote for a president. No let's just continue with the president we have because if we want to vote for a president we're spending too much money. I I don't think they compare. So to come back you know to the water issue. Look, I think Ali is doing a very good job of communicating, of working hard, of letting people know why they can't get a service and when it's completed, we will get that service. The prices have increased because of certain reasons that we know. We must communicate to our people. Should government do more? I believe they should. But we should not create the impression that what is happening is happening because nobody cares and because they just want it to be that way. That I disagree with and and I hate the fact that people try to conflate these issues with other issues like the anti-corruption agenda like the government agenda. So, thank you for doing that. Um, today we spoke about, you know, the justice system in our country and to me all that is happening to the justice system is just exposing the weaknesses in our country.
uh our country definitely is susceptible to corruption and barbery and we can see it. Uh for the life of me I don't know how uh three out of five members can be saved can can be acquitted. Okay. And then two is charged with conspiracy and criminal facilitation in a case. My question will is and will be now what were they criminally facilitating or what they were they criminally conspiring against?
Then we move next to the next case where Samuel is involved in. He was or he yes he was the u minister of of of of finance. Definitely he will be involved in distributing money to different agencies. So if he gets called in, he has to explain as we said on this show before.
However though, it's not just about somebody said, "Oh, this is this speaks to democracy improvement or enhancement in our country." To me, it speaks about the weaknesses in our justice system.
I've said this before. We have weaknesses in the jury system. The the prosecutor and the defendant needs extra training. In my opinion, they need we need to have forensic audit. We need to have lifestyle audit. We need to have documentation originality because we can go to you can we know in Liberia you can go to World Trade Center and get any single document you want to some extent.
Okay. But we need to have all of these in these things in order and to focus on a justice system. We need a government that will decrease their own personal spending. Okay? a government that will be able to speak to the people. Here it is. And lastly, the issue of of water.
When was the last time, you know, that the people who are responsible for pricing in our country, the people who are responsible for water in our country, the people who are responsible for making policies in our country came to the Liberian people and told them straight up, your water price will increase, your taxes will increase, what have you. Nothing. We know every day.
Right now if I turn on my TV I know Donald Trump or somebody else will tell me about the war going on in the world.
So I am aware but it requires speaking and communicating. Our democracy require frequent communication with the people with the citizens help educate the citizen as to what is going on. So you will come tomorrow and pay four times more to do what you should have done when you had the opportunity."
There no main line. So here we provide our own water. We clean our own water.
We treat our own water and then you say you communicating where water is a necessity just like electricity. So those who have the privilege to lead pay attention and do right by the people will be better for it. Know the good news about these kind of services everybody enjoys it from Mos to the president. Everybody enjoys it and the nation's healthier and more productive.

The cloud where Foundation cases are nothing. They playing in the minds of the people.

They're telling them that those people stole your money. So they go in there, they put money, they budget for them.
After that, you never hear anything. But when you look at the charges, you will see the same language, the same language for and uh uh Madame Claw Mar, the same language they use it.
Just look at it. So they they they just using that same template. Just go in there, get it, and just share it.
It's a scam.
You you you have to put every party hat away and just look at it.
We want to know if someone take money and put it in account in the K Island. If you don't have that, it's not a case because every finance minister are not a spending entity. They don't spend money.
The next thing they will come for more of exercise. They will come for this, they will come for that. It's all money making.
The money they put in the budget should go for schools, should go for and and medical support for our children. Things are happening. People are dying. Imagine you know how many homes that they demolish that they could build for some people that sleeping. Women are sleeping in cars being uh women are being raped as we speak because they sleeping in cars because of the action from this government.
This is real. This is real and we have to look into it.
They are not winning the cases. They are not coming. Barely a week you brought another case against Summit 12. And when you look at the letter you will know that it was a rush because they addressing Samuel as they saying at that time that Samuel but gave the money he was a former minister. You're local he he cannot be a former minister why he gave him money. He will be a minister.
So you see you see the rush with that letter calling him former minister at that time.
He was a minister proper at that time.
So when you look at the the the letter they sent to him and look into it I know you guys are brilliant guys a lot of errors. Yeah Dr. I beg you. But sister, let me just take 30 seconds.
You know, when you look at it, you guys are brilliant people. You read that letter over and over again, you will see the error. You can tell that they rush to put it out. They don't have anything.
They're just using the same language, the same thing, the same thing. And they put money, millions of dollar in the budget for them. Look at the asset profit. Look at the budget.
Nothing coming out of it.

Uh, Billy D, the local government act of 2018, the county development agenda and the arrest agenda for inclusive development are three of the best policy document I've read in recent time and you know most of the things I do is just analyze policy see and and see them.
If Liberia only pays attention, and I'm not looking at a specific government, but this whatever government it is, if they pay attention to doing what those documents are calling the government to do, I think our people will do well. The local government act is calling for decentralization of this centralized government here where everything got to be done by the minister of fin or ministry of commerce where you talking about schools better you sit down in one of the the richest counties uh uh uh uh in Minnesota but that county is running the school system and the health system. It is not the state of Minnesota running the school system and the health system in your county.
This the the the CDA, the county development agenda is calling for that.
But the Liberian government official have decided no when we when we decentralize government then we are decentralizing corruption because we only want to be the one to steal. So we can't empower the county officials or the county government. Then we're going to be insignificant because we're not going to have the authority over dispensing money or cutting money or moving money around. Why are you making life difficult for yourself when you can you can you can share your responsibility with the with the counties? You can share revenue with accountants. to the country fund their own capable people to run government.
They pay taxes to the to the national government and then everybody does well.
I heard people talking about carrying pipe from here to the south is not possible. You're not going to have money to lay any pipe from Mont to the southeast to to put water in the southeast. You need to do rural wateration project there which mean you have to create whether it's the is the surface water or groundwater reservoir to be able to supply those county individually. Nobody got money to live po from P land from from wings to to railways or grand crew. You don't have that kind of money here in this country.
So decentralize the government reduce some of this high pay Dr. The labron government salary annually is 350 million because everybody work for government.
But if you decentralize some of the responsibility on this national central government, let county government take over. They'll be responsible for paying staff. They'll be taking some of the burden the wage bill from on the central government and then central government focus on that central on developmental projects and policy and making sure our school systems are strong and our people get quality education and our agricultural system work. I mean I'm not their consultant to teach them but if they want this country to do well they can do well by decentralizing the funds and the resources we have and the functionality of government. I will um end by you know again reiterating uh our concern my concern and I think I shared this with a great number of Liberians that we have too many traffic accidents in the country there just too many traffic accident the only time we speak about it when a one of our loved ones or someone we know uh but um those people too who have been killed on our highways uh they are families They have names. They are individuals. They are one of us. So, we need to do all we can to reduce and minimize traffic death, you know, all around the different uh uh traffic corridors in in the country. And we can simply just get some radar cameras to check uh a radar um equipment to check speeds uh in the country. Uh we can get some good laser radar. It's not going to cost more than $5,000 for the three full radar supported on all of the ma major highways. Uh once you start penalizing people, I think in holding them accountable, I think we try to reduce and address uh the high speed, high rate of speed uh that people are driving on the highways, the reckless driving that is occurring, you know, on the highway and all of that. But um we need to do something about it. There's just too many death uh unnecessary deaths um due to uh accidents a vehicular accident um in the country.

I appreciate the vice president Madame Jo Howard Taylor and the press secretary to the president Madame Kafana for both coming out to speak against these cyber bullies who are members of your parties but they decided to take another step especially a member of the house of representative who went out to to to to question the loyalty of the national congress Mr. exam commies by stating errenously that our colleague who who we hold in high esteem were were dismissed or fired from being chief of staff to Mr. Cummings.
Perhaps many of you who leeches on other people especially the government do not understand that there are people who have morality with them and who have talents and can work in other places.
So therefore when madame excuse me, completed her studies and was called to the Supreme Court as a counselor of law. She made a conscious decision to go into law practice and then made a conscious decision to be v voted in as a vice president of legal affairs of the attorney national congress and through all that process she had the blessings and the respect of the political leader Mr. the comments and she continued to see her inner circle as a close confidant to the political leader.
So let me dismiss that. You cannot be someone whose signature was signed on a document in your absent against the rules of the house of representative and you want to question loyalty and morality of someone who has stood the test of time even when you could not against him and took him to the courts of Liberia. You were defeated or lied on a great person name and today you decide to continue on that lie.
Hopefully you were caught and you were changed from that from from that behavior.
Look ston Liberia need support and need help and that's the reason why Mr. Alexand arrived in Gigali the the the African CEOs forum that brought that is bringing over 2,800 CEOs from around the continent of Africa and around the world where he going to have conversation to invite investors into Liberia. That is what is important. That is what the Liberian people need. We don't need a government who within a time of crisis is increasing the price of of of water instead of finding a way to find solution for our people. No, we need leadership.
Vietnamese bring leadership to the Republic of Liberia. Yes, we stand firm against the fight against corruption.
And we support every fight against corruption in the Republic of Liberia, but we cannot continue to waste taxpayer money for cases that we end up not having the evidence that we need to win those cases because it does not deter those who are who who who are caught when we cannot find an evidence.
And hopefully the Liberian people realize this and in 2029 will change this government and bring a government that is able to investigate, win cases in the code of law and minimize the act of corruption that continue to plague our nation.
