Severe storms hit west of Dallas追加:
Fortunately, this is mainly for parts of Tarrant County, Parker County, over into Hood and Johnson. You can see here we have quite a few storms. Fortunately, they are not near the Dallas area where we have the fire. So, right now firefighters and rescue efforts can continue. They don't have to deal with lightning or anything like that in Dallas County. However, just over to the west, we do have some very heavy rain and we also have some hail associated with this. So, let's go ahead and take a look at that severe thunderstorm warning. a new one and this is for parts of central and eastern Parker County.
You can see here right now it's right over Weatherford. It is moving towards the southeast at about 25 mph and this warning will be in effect until about 5:30 and you can see that it does encompass parts of central Tarrant County. So, if you live in Crowley, if you live in western areas of Fort Worth, just be aware that this storm has 60 mph winds and we have registered some hail that's about an inch and a quarter. So, it is moving to the southeast. you the areas that need to be aware of this.
First of all, in that same spot where the storm is, it's right over Aledo right now, the one with the warning. We have a second one that's moving in right behind it. The second one as of right now it doesn't have a warning, but it has very heavy downpours and it also has some small hail associated with it. So, we could see some additional flash flooding. So, this is where we have the severe thunderstorm warning. It does encompass I-20 in Parker County from Fort Worth points over towards the west although Fort Worth is not part of the warning at this moment. Weatherford is part of it, Willow Park and over into Aledo. So, these are the areas that need to be aware that it's headed towards you if you live in places like Godley or over into Lake Granbury, Joshua or Bono, it is headed your way. Once again, it's got 60 mph winds, some hail about an inch and a quarter size and that could cause some damage. So, be aware of that.
Now, this is the rotation associated with it. This is a surface low that is spinning over into Oklahoma and parts of Kansas, but you can see how it's pivoting some of that moisture towards us. This should end with the end of daytime heating. So, 7:00, 8:00, this should all die down and we should have a quiet night overall. And now, mostly dry conditions will prevail this weekend. We haven't said that in a while. Now, it doesn't mean completely dry. We'll have a 10% to a 20% chance of an isolated shower, isolated thunderstorm, but most of Saturday, Sunday, and into Monday should be fairly dry. But, it will be hot. Today, we're in the upper 80s.
Obviously, we're thinking about all those firefighters that are >> [snorts] >> fighting the fire or that have been in the last couple of hours because not only is it 88 in Dallas with the humidity, it already feels like 90 and it could feel up to 100 over the weekend. So, you need to take some heat prevention, right? Make sure you drink a lot of water if you're headed out to any outdoor activities. Right now, we're still at 88 in Dallas, a little bit cooler in Fort Worth at 83 due to the cloud cover. And obviously, 72 in places like Wise County where we've had those storms move through. So, in the next few hours, you'll watch the storms that I just mentioned start to fizzle out. So, I don't expect these to ramp up or see additional storms later on this evening.
And overnight, it will be fairly quiet.
If we see anything, it will be Sherman, Bonham, Greenville, Paris, and that whole area will have about a 20% chance of an additional shower or thunderstorm.
And tomorrow, Friday, looks mostly dry.
Again, we haven't said that in a while, so that's good news for us. So, tomorrow, the high, these these are the actual temperatures, 92, Saturday 92, 94 on Sunday. But, with the humidity, this is what it will feel like. So, you need to get ready for 96 tomorrow. It will feel like 95 on Saturday. It will feel like 98 on Sunday. And so, for the next couple of days, drier conditions, hotter conditions, temperatures in the actual 90s, and with the humidity, it will feel near 100. Now, we're going back to our special coverage.
