This video masterfully turns a negligible local tremor into a sophisticated lesson on the hidden complexities of intraplate geology. It proves that for a true educator, even the smallest vibration is a valuable window into the Earth's internal mechanics.

2.7 Earthquake Rattles Monroe County Near Carleton MIAdded:
[music] [music] >> Good afternoon everyone. I'm glad you're here. Thank [music] you very much for joining me.
In the area that's more prone to severe weather, there was a magnitude 2.7 earthquake between Ann Arbor and Monroe County, Michigan.
Did you feel it? People in Detroit and also Toledo said they felt this earthquake.
It occurred late last night at 5:32 p.m.
local time. Geologists are saying that this earthquake could have been caused by what's called the Bowling Green Fault System and it runs down here into Ohio.
So, it probably extends further uh towards the north. I believe it was close to Ann Arbor uh where I had one UFO experience with my aunt. I did a video about that.
Yeah, earthquakes in this area are not very common. You could have one, maybe a magnitude four that would cause damage, but that's highly unlikely. 197 people said they felt this earthquake and USGS gave it an intensity level of four.
Here's the felt map from USGS. You can see Detroit.
A lot more closer to Toledo, it looks like. The furthest to the south, they don't give um a name for that one.
Let's see if we can find any names here.
No.
Closer to the epicenter. Okay.
Um 16 report intensity level four.
Another 28 reported intensity four.
And one from over here.
Some of the reports that were sent in to EMSC. I really appreciate it when you put your reports for us to view. Here at Carlton, they said that the whole house shook and then they heard a loud boom, rumble. It scared them. I thought something huge had blown up.
Another one said they were inside their Rockwood, Michigan house and they heard a booming noise outside and then the windows rattled. I felt the house shake a little.
So, it was light shaking, but did you have damage? Uh do you have any cracks in your plaster or driveways, things like that? Put your comments down below.
And what did you think when you initially um either heard or felt the earthquake?
No aftershocks have been reported and this is what they can call or consider a intraplate earthquake, meaning it's not along any known boundaries or fault lines.
So, stress built up from something, I don't know.
Yeah, it could be an unknown fault zone.
Rivers and streams often follow um the path of faults.
I don't see any names listed for this waterway.
Yeah, so those of you that live there, maybe you would know.
Maybe it's just a creek because you can see there's lots of vegetation that goes through here.
Okay, we got a name over here. It says Stony Cre- uh Yeah, Stony Creek.
All right. So, put your comments down below. Thank you very much for watching.
Please like, share, and subscribe and I will talk to you later.
God bless you all. Bye.
