[00:00:00]The first point that has been made is that in a democracy and perhaps in every country whatever practices, rules, laws you put together or you set up should be those that can stand the test of time.

[00:00:20]And we should never put ourselves in a position where we see wrong to be right when we are in government and we see right to be wrong when we are in opposition.

[00:00:34]I've said this many, many times. When you have proper rules, when you have the when you have adherence to rule of law, when people's rights are respected, it is good for all of us. And any careful observer of events, particularly in the course of this fourth republic, will come to the conclusion that when the law works, when people's rights are protected, it is always good for all of us. Because there were times under MPP government where people's some people's rights were were seemed to have been trampled upon.

[00:01:11]But because you were in government, you will find it appropriate. And today things are happening which are obviously wrong.

[00:01:21]As I grant you this interview, if I say something very horrible about a member of a government or even about the president and I injure his reputation or I damage his reputation, what should happen is that I'm condemned by right-thinking Ghanaians. Secondly, if the president or any member of his government feels defamed, he's to take a civil action in court, the action of defamation. I'm not to be dragged by the criminal justice system and thrown into jail and giving uh onerous bail conditions and bail is used as a punishment. It is bad today. We all have to condemn it. We have to discourage it. We should not perpetuate it because to tomorrow the tables will turn. It may be 2028, it may be 2032, maybe whenever. The tables may turn.

[00:02:16]Will turn. And when they turn and they are meted out to members of this government, I will be against it.
