Jack Bibbley is known as the most notorious police officer in the history of Ghana. Jack Bibbley served as a regimental sergeant major within the notorious Panther unit, a defunct commando group belonging to the Ghana Police Service. This man became widely feared throughout the city of Acra because he frequently subjected innocent members of the public to inhumane and cruel treatment. victims often suffered extreme trauma due to his dark prowess and the cruel methods he utilized while exercising his significant and oppressive institutional authority. At the height of his influence, Bibbi organized armed groups to block the roads stretching from Kimbu school to the fire service traffic light. During these illegal operations, his heavily armed team systematically fleeced commuters of their personal belongings while maintaining a very intimidating and dangerous presence. Few citizens ever dared to challenge his absolute authority or bypass his blockades because the officers were always equipped with lethal and automatic weaponry. Former President Jerry John Rawlings later highlighted the officer's involvement in dark historical chapters during the National Reconciliation Commission public hearing sessions.
Rawlings testified [music] that Beley participated in the interrogation and killing of dissident Corporal Haladu Guiwa and Lance Corporal Sarcoti Ado in March 1984. The former president specifically recalled seeing Baby carrying the lifeless body of Helu Giwa off an aircraft following the soldiers capture in March. Baby's life of institutional power eventually collapsed into blatant criminality when he orchestrated the biggest road robbery in the entire history of Ghana. In 1999, his gang intercepted a bullion van carrying gold bars worth millions of citizia location. Dressed in military uniforms and carrying AK-47 rifles, the criminals used a Nissan Irvan and a Pujo estate to way the gold convoy, the syndicate seized the gold and fled toward Acra after firing several shots to scatter the guards protecting the valuable precious metal shipment. Jack Beley received a 15-year prison sentence in July 2001 and eventually died from a fatal heart attack while serving his long sentence.
