Oorja’s shift from slowing decline to actively reversing lung scarring represents a bold leap toward curative intent in regenerative medicine. If Phase 2 trials validate this mechanism, it could fundamentally redefine the prognosis for patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Oorja Is Trying To Reverse Lung Scarring, Not Just Slow It | The Biotech Voyager EP09Ajouté :
We are entering the age of like true regenerative medicine and I'm so here for it.
>> Ursa, super interesting company. IPF is basically a lung scarring condition where your lungs just get more and more scarring over time and obviously if your lungs are covered in scars, you can't breathe super well and eventually it will be fatal. And so what Ursa is trying to do is they're not trying to slow lung scarring. That's kind of what the standard of care does. They're just like, "Hey, the best we can do for you is slow this down." But instead, they're trying to actually reverse it. These cells called AEC2 are the lungs' own repair crew.
>> Their drug is called ORJ-001, which basically is able to wake up those repair cells and so in animal studies, not only have they been able to slow down scarring, but we're actually seeing a reversal. Existing damaged lung tissue is leading to the lung scarring inside of these people with IPF actually getting reversed. They have completed phase one data in healthy volunteers and FDA clearance to move into phase two in actual patients.
