Unboxing BENI: This 2-Wheeled Camera Robot by Mondo Robotics
Added:[laughter] >> Dude. Now, if you guys have seen my footage from CES this year, definitely one thing that stood out the most that you would see there were robots. There were all types, all shapes and sizes, whether it's everything from robot vacuums, robot cleaners, personal robots, and this right here.
Even though this was not at CES, this company reached out to me, which is called Mando Robotics, and they have this guy here, a two-wheeled robot named Benny. Now, the one thing that intrigued me the most about Benny, and the reason why I wanted to check him out, is because, of course, you guys know I like drones, you guys know I like everything with cameras. This thing is supposed to be a two-wheeled 4K 30 frames a second camera. It's supposed to handle all types of terrain. It'll pick itself up if it were to fall. And the one thing I really like about it is that you can actually just have this thing follow you around if you wanted to and document pretty much your life. It does have vision sensors here at the front.
You are able to track yourself and objects. There's supposed to be a bunch of games through the app that you're able to play with your kids. And we will definitely go through that. But, for right now, let's just do a quick unboxing. As you can see, it is all kind of this flat white material. Then, we of course we have some sensors here at the bottom, a back area here for the battery. But, we will take everything out. So, let's get everything out first.
Looks like we have some battery packs on the very top, two of those. Remote control, 3D print Looks like it's 3D printed. Oh, no way. Check that out.
What is that? It is a 3D printed hat with my logo on it. And then we have USB, probably some replacement wheels.
So, that is what comes in this box. Now, this is an early unit. They are going to be having this robot on Kickstarter. So, there might be some different accessories or packages that are going to be available. Uh this is one of their early units and that I will be testing out. This out that holds the whole head together.
And we have another camera here at the very front. Pop this in.
I'm assuming it's going to be very much like some of the other devices that we have on the market.

I hear it. Okay, nothing yet. Now, I do have an app.
I do have an app that was provided to me. So, let's see if that is going to um get this thing connected. It's connecting right now. It says device found. Hit connect and I'm hoping that this one bar would be enough for at least have this thing stand up. Waiting for authorization. Long press power button for 2 seconds to authorize.
1 2 And from the picture here on the app, it looks like these are supposed to be little ears. Little ears on the guy.
Looks like we're connected. Now, it just says up.

I can actually see what the robot sees right there in the very front. Now, I don't want to do too much cuz I don't want the robot to go off the table. But, let me just see if I move him a little bit. Oh my god, dude.

So, that was my unboxing. I mean, I literally just opened it up and synced it and it found it and now I'm holy cow. Check this out.
I mean, that is super simple. Let me look. Dude, that is super cool. All right, let's move him forward and let's park him.
I just wanted to unbox it and see how hard or easy that was. I mean, that that was as easy as can be.
This is so cool.

And then I think that's it. I'm going to power him down. I need battery for this. No way. I want to get this thing out and see how fast it can go, how good it's going to track, and what are some other things I'm able to do with it with me and my kids. So, we'll be back.
