Nocturnal animals have evolved specialized adaptations for nighttime survival, including enhanced night vision (such as cats' tapetum lucidum layer reflecting light), silent movement capabilities (like bats' soft wings and foxes' padded paws), and effective hiding strategies (such as geckos' camouflage and raccoons' ability to squeeze into tight spaces). These adaptations allow nocturnal animals to thrive in low-light environments by maximizing their ability to see, move undetected, and remain hidden from predators.

Into the Jungle Bounce: Meet Nocturnal Zoo Animals and Forest WildlifeAjouté :
[music] >> Hello kids. I hope you are all doing well, smiling, and having a wonderful day today. Welcome [music] back back to another exciting animal adventure where we will discover many amazing animals from around the world.
So kids, get ready to explore, learn, and have [music] lots of fun.
Don't forget to smile, use your imagination, and enjoy this wonderful animal journey with us. Are you ready, little explorers? Let's get started.
Cats [music] can see in light six times dimmer than humans can. Their eyes have a special layer called the tapetum lucidum, which reflects light and helps them see in the dark. Cats are obligate carnivores, [music] which means they must eat meat to stay healthy.
Horses have lived on Earth for over 50 million years.
>> [music] >> Horses belong to the Equidae family along with zebras and donkeys.
Horses usually live for 25 [music] to 30 years, but some live even longer. Horses can see almost 360° around them.
>> [music] >> Rabbits belong to a special group called lagomorphs, not rodents. [music] They're closely related to hares and pikas, not mice or rats. Rabbits can run up to 55 km/h, 35 [music] mph, and jump over 1 m, 3 ft high. They use quick hops [music] and sharp turns to escape predators.
>> [music] >> Black panthers, especially leopards, are known for climbing [music] trees and dragging their prey up to avoid scavengers.
The black panther is actually a melanistic black colored form of leopards or jaguars. The black panther symbolizes strength, [music] mystery, protection, and power in many cultures.
>> [clears throat] >> Hippos spend about 16 hours a day submerged in water to keep their massive bodies cool under the hot African sun.
Hippos secrete a reddish oily substance from their skin. [music] This blood sweat acts as a potent moisturizer, antiseptic, and sunblock.
Black bears are highly intelligent and have [music] excellent long-term memory, especially regarding food sources.
Black bear [music] is an incredibly adaptable and fascinating creature.
Here are some key facts about them.
>> [music] [music] >> Sloths live in the rainforests of Central and South America. [music] Sloths spend almost their entire lives in trees hanging upside down.
Sloths sleep for 15 to 20 hours a day.
That's almost their whole life spent resting.
Sloths have long claws.
Geese belong to the Anatidae family, which also includes ducks and swans.
Most geese are medium to large waterfowl with long necks and webbed feet. [music] Geese are mostly herbivores, eating grass, grains, roots, >> [music] >> and aquatic plants. Wild geese can live up to 15 to 25 years, and sometimes longer in captivity.
Wildebeest are large antelopes found [music] mostly in the grasslands and savannas of Africa, especially in Tanzania and Kenya. Wildebeest are herbivores. They eat mostly grass and sometimes leaves. Wildebeest can [music] run fast, reaching speeds up to 50 miles per hour, 80 km per hour.
Hamsters are small mammals that belong to the rodent family, just like mice [music] and squirrels.
That's why your hamster might be running on its wheel when everyone else is asleep. Hamsters teeth never stop growing, so they need to chew on wood, [music] cardboard, or special chew toys to keep them short. Hamsters are omnivores.
>> [music] >> Turtle is a reptile characterized its bony or cartilaginous shell.
This shell acts as a protective shield for its [music] body.
Turtles have been on Earth for an incredibly long time.
>> [music] >> They first evolved over 200 million years ago.
Turtles are omnivores. What a turtle eats depends [music] entirely on its species and habitat.
>> [music] [music] >> Hyenas are often thought of as scavengers, but they're actually skilled hunters, too.
>> [music] >> In fact, spotted hyenas hunt up to 70 to 80% of their food themselves. Hyenas have one of the strongest bite forces of any mammal, strong enough to crush bones.
>> [laughter] [laughter] >> Cheetahs mainly hunt gazelles, impalas, hares, and other small animals.
>> [music] >> They rely on speed and strategy, stalking prey before sprinting to catch it.
Cheetahs live in Africa, mostly in open plains and savannas, and small populations [music] exist in Iran. They need wide open spaces to spot and chase prey.
>> [music] >> Reindeer are one of the few deer species to have been widely domesticated, primarily by the Sami people of northern Europe and other Arctic indigenous groups. Reindeer are surprisingly vocal.
[music] They make a variety of grunts and snorts, and a unique clicking sound.
Buffalo are known for their immense strength and muscular build, making them one of the strongest land animals.
Buffalo are very protective of each other. When one is attacked, others may charge to defend [music] it.
African buffalo have large, curved horns that can form a boss.
Crocodiles are prehistoric animals.
They've been on Earth for over 200 million years since the time of the dinosaurs.
>> [music] >> Crocodiles live in rivers, lakes, swamps, and marshes in Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Americas.
Crocodiles are meat eaters. [music] They eat fish, birds, mammals, and sometimes even other crocodiles.
>> [music] [music] >> Pandas belong to the bear family, Ursidae, and are technically [music] carnivores, but they mostly eat plants.
Sometimes they eat small animals, eggs, or insects for [music] extra protein.
Pandas are excellent climbers. They can climb trees to escape predators or rest.
[music] Pandas eat almost nothing but bamboo.
>> [crying] [music] >> Wolves are the largest members of the dog family, Canidae.
Wolves have 42 teeth built for tearing meat and crushing bone. Wolves can run at speeds of up to 37 mph, 60 km/h, when chasing [music] prey. Wolves are carnivores. They mainly eat deer, elk, moose, and smaller animals.
>> [music] >> Zebras belong to the horse family, Equidae. They're close relatives of horses and donkeys. Zebras can run up to 65 km/h, 40 mph, to escape predators.
Zebras eat mostly grass, but also leaves, herbs, and bark [music] when grass is scarce. They spend most of the day grazing, and their strong teeth are made for chewing tough plants.
Zebras live in groups called [music] herds or harems.
>> [laughter] [music] >> Tigers are the largest wild cats in the world. Tigers are solitary animals, meaning they like to live and hunt alone. A tiger's roar can be heard from up to 3 km, 2 mi, away.
Tigers have orange coats with black [music] stripes, but some are white due to a rare gene.
A tiger's [music] body can grow up to 10 ft, 3 m, long, including its tail.
Tigers mark their territory with scratch marks, scent, and roars.
>> [music] >> Mountain goat isn't a true goat. It's more [music] accurately described as a goat antelope in the family Bovidae.
Mountain goat belies their extreme specialization for high altitude life.
Their anatomical, physiological, and behavioral traits all support [music] survival far above lowland ecosystems.
