The Daniel Larson case demonstrates how online threats can escalate to federal criminal charges when they pose genuine risks to public safety. Daniel Larson, a former UCLA student who made numerous threats including bombing government buildings and killing federal agents, was investigated by Secret Service special agent Daniel McDougall and citizen documentarian Quincy. After being indicted on seven federal felonies carrying a maximum penalty of 65 years, Larson was found competent to stand trial and entered a plea agreement to one count of interstate communication of threats, receiving a 27-33 month sentence. The case illustrates how authorities can track online threats through documentation, how mental health evaluations play a crucial role in competency hearings, and how strict post-release restrictions are necessary to prevent relapse into threatening behavior.

The United States vs. Daniel LarsonAjouté :
Hey, Daniel.
>> Hey.
>> Okay. Appreciate it.
>> I just did.
For many residents in the Denver area, especially those with social media, it wasn't exactly a secret that a man by the name of Daniel Larson was going around on the streets causing havoc.
But as years would pass and he was continuing this behavior, the same question remained. How long would this go on for? Daniel is known to have the world's toughest plot armor. After years of being infamous online, Daniel was constantly being watched by viewers who would report him to local police and federal authorities.
Messaging dickpicks to people he thought were minors.
Reported dining and dashing. Reported. Making repeated threats of violence. Reported.
>> Social media account and put it out there right [ __ ] now that I am not mine or I will kill you as well. There's no way to know how many reports were made about Daniel's behavior over the years, but one thing is sure, the majority of the reports were either ignored or not looked into fully. In the off chance Daniel was actually held responsible for something, he would be booked in the county jail and then typically released the next day.
Daniel had one key area of expertise on top of his self-proclaimed talents and career in singing and songwriting, and that was his skill of making threats.
Whether it was Daniel threatening to murder someone, threatening to bomb hospitals, or simply threatening to bomb every single police station in the world. Simply put, Daniel made a lot of threats. In fact, it's estimated that Daniel only went an average of 9 days between known or documented threats between the years 2021 and 2024. Some common threats from Daniel to put things a little bit more into perspective included, I'm going to bomb the University of Colorado. I will bomb Clark. I am going to bomb an airport. I am buying a gun tonight. Jesus Christ. I can only imagine my roommate hearing me saying all these things. Daniel would even go as far as texting 911 to tell them that he would murder the police.
While these were not super serious threats to people who had been following Daniel online for a while, to residents in the area and the authorities, they obviously were.
In 2023, when Daniel's threats really started ramping up, is when Secret Service special agent Daniel McDougall enters the lore.
For multiple years, McDougall was keeping an eye on Daniel and investigating him. Most followers of Daniel thought that McDougall was simply just a madeup character by a troll or one of those weird fictional delusions of Daniels. But McDougall came into the picture specifically after Daniel made a Tik Tok video claiming that he would, what do you know, blow up the White House.
This message is to Grace. Grace is a [ __ ] n and a hater and I will always hate her now because of what she did.
And yes, I will bomb the White House. I will [ __ ] bomb the White House. I will [ __ ] bomb every single police station in the entire US.
The very next day on the 30th is when things started to finally get more serious for Daniel. Having to meet two Secret Service agents to discuss his recent threats made online. It's unclear how Daniel was originally contacted by McDougall, but it is known that Daniel posted a text message thread with someone who is believed to be McDougall discussing an 11:30 a.m. meeting for the following day and asking Daniel not to delete anything off of his phone as they wanted to gather evidence from it.
on YouTube live. In a totally crystalclear recording, Daniel would end up filming himself walking up to the two men at a park where they would greet him and request that he please stop live streaming.
>> Yep, that that looks like them.
The Denver investigator and the Secret Service.
Daniel.
>> Hey.
>> Okay.
>> Appreciate it.
>> I just did.
>> Daniel would comply and the live stream would come to an end. McDougall would then go on to interview Daniel, urging him to not keep making threats like he was continuing to do. And ultimately, it is believed that the contents of Daniel's phone were reviewed.
So, McDougall was actually real. Yes.
Even outside of Larsson leak on my own videos, I still get comments asking me this. He is indeed a real person. He is not a figment of Daniel's imagination.
So, let's zoom out and see just how often Daniel McDougall appeared in the story, even when people didn't even know that it was really him.
We next saw McDougall pop up in March of 2024. On March 18th, Daniel posted and claimed that he learned how to make a bomb while in jail. McDougall and his female partner would put a plan in place to find Daniel and have the local police department arrest him based on the existing warrants that he had. This was so that they could interview Daniel based on those recent posts that he had made.
I don't see him.
>> He has numerous warrants and they're wanting questioning for threat uh like terroristic acts online.
>> Do the talking. just >> uh um but it's mostly because it's also because he we want to ask him about something he posted yesterday.
You know me, right?
>> Yeah, I do.
>> I got a beard now.
>> Hi. How you doing?
>> Hi. How are you?
>> Can you sit down for me real quick, brother? I appreciate you. You can just sit right here.
>> Would you have something to have something for my hand?
>> I will get you something if you'll just take a seat for me. Sure.
>> Just right here. That's fine. It's my partner.
>> Okay.
Will you sit down for me, mister? I'll sit down.
>> Thank you. Let me get you Let me get you a napkin or something. Okay.
>> Okay.
Give me a second. Uh, my probation officer and investigator.
>> Can you run this subject and go ahead and confirm?
>> Yeah, I was just on the phone with him and everything was okay and he So, I'll just uh give him a >> Okay.
Do >> you have yet?
>> Uh, no. She's been talking to Officer Jones. I know he's got a couple warrants.
>> Yeah. I'm just going to wait till she gets here cuz uh she's taking over the case. I'm just helping her out. So, let her talk to him.
>> Yeah.
>> That's why I'm not jumping in and talking.
>> No, you're fine. Yeah. I literally all the information I had was from her where she was like, "Hey, you find him and can you get him?"
>> Yeah. Napkin.
>> Sorry. glove. But >> the other one, >> what do you need?
>> Uh, he's been pretty compliant, so I was going to give him a napkin. I guess he can just have a paper bag or something.
>> His hand.
>> Hi.
>> Hello.
>> Sorry. What' you say?
>> I was just on the phone with my PO.
>> Okay.
What' your PO say? Um he said everything's good. Um and we're working on uh getting on the 27th. I have court.
So he said just go to my court on the 27th.
>> Okay.
>> Not a napkin, but it'll have to do.
>> Oh, thank you.
>> That's what I had. Thank you.
>> All right, Daniel. So, here's what's going on. Okay. You do have warrants.
Okay. You got five of them.
>> All right. one you're gonna be arrested on today. Okay.
>> Okay.
>> And then we're gonna contact Jeffco and they're probably gonna extradite you on the other ones.
>> Okay.
>> Okay.
>> All right.
>> I am aware of the wine.
>> I don't want I don't want your bags.
>> You just leave it right there. Okay.
>> We'll end up putting your You can put your phone already in the bag if you like.
>> Uh, sure.
>> Cuz we're going to end up putting it in the bag anyways. Okay.
>> Okay.
>> I was aware of the warrant and that's what actually about. Okay. Um, and then he said just uh deal with it on the 27th since I have court in Jefferson County in Okay. All right. Go ahead and stand up for me. Okay.
>> I got you.
>> Put your hands behind your back for me.
Heat. Heat.
It's just crumbled up paper next.
>> Oh, wait.
>> Yeah. I don't know if you remember uh there was some pass on on this guy a while ago. Yeah.
>> Yeah. So, it's just just finally got him.
>> When body cam footage was recovered from Daniel's March 2024 arrest in Broomfield, it quickly became apparent that the feds were still very, very much involved in monitoring Daniel and keeping a close eye on him.
If we go back to the arrest before this, the FBI was actually mentioned here too.
Daniel was once again getting arrested.
This time at a mall he was at due to him previously making a threat to shoot up the hospital after they kicked him out.
Daniel was sitting peacefully in the food court preparing to join his UCLA Zoom class when he was arrested by three officers.
>> It's 682. We're going to go ahead and make contact with him right now.
It's Hey, buddy. It's It's okay. It's okay. Relax.
More for your left. Relax.
Relax.
>> Deep breath. Calm down. We're good.
>> It's going to be okay, buddy. We going to figure out the warrant. Okay.
>> All right. So, just relax. Everything's okay.
>> I just have to start.
>> What kind What kind of class?
>> Okay.
>> Finance. Um, not marketing. Something like that, right? Marketing. Oh, heck yeah, man. Heck yeah.
>> Daniel walked out of the mall to be met by what seemed to be the city's whole entire SWAT team and intel officers.
When the officers were searching Daniel, the sergeant told the officer to put Daniel's phone in an evidence bag as a request from Intel and Feds. And then after these two arrests and another one that features no footage, his final arrest and indictment hits.
I still remember the day. Seven federal felonies.
And who exactly was the agent who brought these charges onto Daniel? None other than special agent Daniel Mc mother [ __ ] Doo.
In early 2024, a prominent user on Reddit came into the picture.
He went by the name of Quincy.
Quincy found out about Daniel like a lot of us seeing his videos pop up on Tik Tok only to end up getting sucked into the rabbit hole of lore in such significant ways that no follower of Daniel has ever been before.
Originally, Quincy was monitoring Daniel due to having online friends who worked at a restaurant in Boulder where they would talk about Daniel as well as his dine and dashing habits.
After watching Daniel for a couple of months, Quincy realized just how severe some of Daniel's threats were and wanted to make sure that authorities saw the totality of the situation and not just random screenshots. Quincy went through years of lore to build what he called the Daniel Larson threat tracker. This tracker was key and extremely helpful for authorities. He was able to find and document evidence for well over a hundred threats that Daniel had made on camera. After the infamous April 7th meltdown, Quincy decided it was finally time to share a full package of what was going on to the federal authorities.
So on the 10th, Quincy decided to email special agent McDougall and also reached out to the special agents in charge of the Denver FBI field office. This report seemingly got through to the right people fairly quickly as McDougall called Quincy just a few hours later.
The following messages were sent by Quincy to Larsson league exclusively about his interactions with McDougall.
I sent the email to McDougall in the morning and a few hours later I saw that I was getting a call from a number that had a Denver area code. Turns out it was McDougall calling from the Denver field office. It honestly was a fairly quick call overall. He first thanked me for sending the full extent of everything and having it all well documented for him. McDougall acknowledged that Daniel doxed his information and said he got emails from people pretty frequently. He said that a few of the pieces I shared with him were new to him and he appreciated me sending the details and also asked me to continue keeping him in the loop if there was any new info. At the same time, McDougall said that he likely would already know about it because he was already keeping an eye on things. There were a couple of times where he just mentioned he couldn't say more since it was an open investigation, but on the call, you could definitely feel that he was taking things seriously and knew what was going on across the Daniel Larson community pretty well.
McDougall asked if I was a part of management. I said no, but that I had Clark's number at the time.
It was actually pretty funny how I got Clark's number. I was reviewing the Broomfield arrest body cam and watched the cop pull out a piece of paper where Daniel had apparently written out Clark and Tina's full phone numbers. Turns out it was Clark's actual iPhone number.
McDougall made a comment about it likely being a text-free number and was surprised when I told him that it was Clark's actual number. McDougall asked me to share the phone number with him.
What the [ __ ] is up, guys?
>> McDougall explained how he didn't have a major issue with management, just that I let Clark know not to present himself as a lawyer, as obviously he is not one. He asked me to pass a message along to management if I could. He wanted me to remind managers to keep it within bounds and that it wasn't worth getting in trouble over something like trolling Daniel. Overall, it didn't seem like he had a problem with management. He said he understood what they were doing, just didn't want things to escalate to the point that there would be an issue.
After the call, we exchanged emails a few times in relation to the case and the people surrounding the case, but that's about it. He mentioned keeping an eye on Lil Sippy when Lil Sippy was communicating with Daniel. And I know that McDougall shared information with partner agencies.
A little over 2 weeks after this call with Quincy, McDougall would officially file seven charges against Daniel and Daniel would be federally indicted.
On April 30th, 2024, Daniel posted about needing to go to Boulder to meet with his probation officer. When Daniel made it to the area, he was met by law enforcement, who then arrested Daniel based on an arrest warrant issued for him, as he would then be federally indicted on those seven charges. His final social media post was a YouTube community tab post saying, "I'm on the bus now to Boulder, Colorado."
Daniel was booked into the Jefferson County Jail, later to be transferred to the Clear Creek County Jail.
While most followers of Daniel assumed that this would be a quick slap on the wrist and he would be released as usual, soon after documentation came out that this was not a simple probation violation.
The charging document filed by special agent McDougall himself listed seven offenses that carried a max penalty of 65 years in prison.
At this point in time, one of the most consequential criminal cases of our lifetime ensued.
The United States of America versus Daniel Larson.
It didn't take long for Quincy to figure out the exact threats that Daniel made which resulted in these charges. Count one, July 3rd, 2023.
Daniel allegedly willfully made a threat concerning an attempt to damage and destroy a building by means of an explosive, specifically a county courthouse in Colorado.
Count two. August 7th, 2023. Daniel allegedly willfully made a threat concerning an attempt to damage and destroy a building by means of an explosive, specifically a nonprofit center in Lakewood, Colorado.

>> I will [ __ ] have Daniel McDougall [ __ ] killed.
>> Count seven, March 23rd, 2024. Daniel allegedly willfully made a threat concerning an attempt to damage and destroy a building by means of an explosive. Specifically, the Federal Bureau of Investigation headquarters.
The FBI can go ahead and press legal charges on me.
I will just kill their ad.
>> As we all know, Daniel doesn't handle stressful situations well and was not cooperative in prison without any issues. as Daniel was freaking out in prison and crashed out for months straight from what we saw. Dr. Hansen, the BOP psychiatrist, shared with the court that Daniel hit himself in the face when he was frustrated while at FCI Englewood.
On calls with Lil Cippy and Clark, Daniel claimed to be having issues with other inmates and sounded like he was hitting himself.
In one of the calls with Clark, it even sounded like another inmate was giving Daniel a hard time for hogging the phone.
It sounds like the relationship with Grace is real.
Um, but yeah, I What?
I I can't I can't I can't allow that.
I'm not I'm not I'm not going to fight with you. I'm not Yes, ma'am. I am on the [ __ ] phone and you you want do you want me to fight you because like literally I'm not going to have this game. I'm on the phone with somebody.
>> I'm on the phone with somebody. Relax.
You're a [ __ ] joke.
>> Hey, you're 12 years old for getting upset at me for being on the [ __ ] phone. What the hell?
>> Jeez, that was scary.
>> I know. Like what the [ __ ] >> Speaking of phone calls, Daniel surprisingly had a decent amount of contact with the outside world for a couple of months between October and December of 2024 at FCI Englewood before he was transferred to MCFP Springfield, where his communication was cut off completely.
Most of the communication happened between Daniel and the same two individuals, Clark and Lil Sippy. Most of you by now already know who Clark is.
He needs no introduction, but Lil Cippy is still a new character to some that came into the lore seemingly out of nowhere and exited just as quickly as he entered.
Lil Sippy wrote a letter to Daniel after Cippy himself recently had just gotten out of jail. He was in jail in the first place due to being found guilty of battery and disorderly conduct that resulted in him getting into a fight with another inmate while in a juvenile facility. Great minds think alike, I guess. In Lil Sippy's initial letter to Daniel, he included photos of Grace Vanderwal and other celebrities that Daniel thought were hot, like Billy Isish and Taylor Swift, although those were seemingly more of interest to Sippy than Daniel. It's unclear to what extent, but it appears that Lil Cippy got Daniel to call him by claiming to be in contact with Grace and being able to help Daniel with his legal issues. There have been a lot of allegations made related to Lil Cippy online, none of which we can confirm to be 100% accurate, but people have been making allegations about Lil Sippy grooming minors, being a part of the 764 group, as well as a bunch of other really concerning [ __ ] So, we'll stick to the information that has been provided officially in court documents and stated by law enforcement. In a charging document written by a police officer, they claimed that an 8-year-old Lil Sippy allegedly drew a stick figure of one of the Boston Marathon bombers and expressed interest in making bombs at a young age. The FBI would investigate Lilipi after seeing him interacting on a known Al Qaeda recruiting website.
Lil Sippy then would allegedly call the police to ask if it was legal to make Molotov cocktails. Later on in 2017, Lil Sippy allegedly wrote letters to six local schools threatening to shoot them up. He was charged with six counts of terroristic threats in a way very much similar to Daniel.
In August of 2021, Lil Sippy was allegedly planning on purchasing an AR-15.
And in September, the FBI would obtain a letter that Lil Sippy allegedly wrote to Brenton Tarrant, the perpetrator of the Christ Church mosque shootings.
In October of 2021, video surveillance caught Lilippi allegedly driving through the parking lots of multiple elementary schools.
The FBI then would obtain a letter allegedly written by Lil Sippy to Ethan Crumbly.
Ethan Crumbly committed a school shooting in Michigan, killing four. And Lil Sippy wrote, "I'm a big fan. I'm just writing today to show my appreciation for your service to the community and wondering if you'd like to be pen pals."
In December of 2021, the FBI extracted information on Lil Cippy's phone, which allegedly includes Lil Sippy's mom sending him emails about the Sandy Hook and Coline shootings, along with cheap guns for sale, a statement from Lil Sippy claiming that Adam Lanza is the greatest person in history, Anders Bayer Berwick's 1,500page manifesto, and describing having all 26,000 pages of the Coline shooting.
Daniel only attracts just the finest people, doesn't he?
>> I promise >> this is the second time you idiots have showed up here.
>> We told you to go away the first time.
We don't want to talk.
>> At some point, people began to realize that it was possible to send letters to Daniel and potentially get a response from him. Despite the numerous warnings from nearly everyone involved not to touch the poo, a few individuals decided to [ __ ] touch anyway and post about it online. The first to write a letter to Daniel was of course Lil Sippy. At the time, most thought that the letter that Lil Cippy posted was fake. We still haven't been able to confirm its authenticity as we have with the other letters, but Daniel apparently wrote Lil Sippy a list of his burning sexual questions. Can I ask you a few questions? Is the the same hole females pee from? Is a gag reflex normal when you are about to come? Is pre thick and sticky? Does it tickle a lot like regular? I can't believe I just said that with a straight face. My roommate is like listening in on this and is like about to call the cops probably. The next person who wrote Daniel a letter was a guy named Caleb who posted about the letter on his Instagram account as well as on Reddit. Caleb claimed that his name was Kaye when writing Daniel and sent photos of a girl to try and catfish him. There were a few letters that Caleb exchanged with Daniel texting back and forth which Caleb ultimately tried to sell on eBay for $50 a page.
That's [ __ ] ridiculous, dude. In the letter, Daniel allegedly wrote, "My favorite thing to talk about is sex.
My fave sexual smell I really like is the smell of pee.
Do you think you could make me fast with a job?
Would you like my strong stink of my even if it smells like you need to gag during sex? Would you hold my legs open and you can rub my penis faster until I shoot my bar in hard? Is it normal to feel like you need to pee yourself during sex? Lol. Do you get too sensitive? You cry when you get fingered. I'm a virgin. Could you make me hard? Like scary hard and far. Lol. I would like that even if it would ache a lot. I love pasta. Daniel went on to trace his hand for Caleb at his request, which is a common request that Caleb asked other prisoners to do. Fittingly, a guy named Daniel also wrote a letter to Daniel. He posted a long, heartfelt card that he posted online. My name is also Daniel, and I'm writing to you from Los Angeles. I feel for you. I'm so sorry for how the trolls have been making your life so miserable. It's not fair. I don't think you meant all those threats you made and everything you said about Bob.
I'm praying you beat the trial and get out of prison soon.
I hope you write back to me cuz there are so many people who care about you and miss you.
Daniel Larson read the heartfelt letter and responded with a few words using his go-to phrase, "Please check out my music on YouTube and iHeart Radio." Despite the minimal response, Daniel, no, not Daniel. Daniel, the other Daniel, would end up putting this letter on his fridge and posting about it on the subreddit and Tik Tok, and he still talks about it pretty often.
So I wrote to Daniel Larson who is still in prison and he actually wrote me back.
This is currently this is currently current. And this is >> these are the individuals who had their letters read and documented by the BOP and the individuals that Dr. Hansen is referencing when she testified in court about how Daniel was receiving fan mail from people reinforcing his delusions.
In October 2024, Quincy reached out to Daniel's defense team after growing concerned about the influence Sippy was gaining over Daniel and how it was directly impacting the case, especially Daniel's competency.
Quincy documented the various aspects he was concerned about and shared details about specific angles of the case that he thought might be helpful to the defense.
After Quincy's email, Daniel's defense requested to meet with Quincy face to face to be able to talk through the case and document specifics so they could be used in court if ever needed.
Daniel's defense attorney, Jared Westbrook, and their investigator flew over 1,000 miles, multiple states away, just to meet with Quincy.
>> As a public defender, as a criminal defense lawyer, my job isn't to get up and justify the actions that they've done, right? Like my job isn't to get up and say it's okay to molest 17 boys or however whatever has happened. My as a public defender, your job is to make sure that the constitution is applied properly to your client, right? So, you have to know the rules. You have to know the law. And you have to make sure that everybody else is dotting their eyes and crossing their tees. And that is 90% of what I do.
>> The following messages were sent by Quincy to Larsson Leak exclusively about his interactions with Daniel's defense team. In late October, I was a bit concerned about the way the case was going in terms of competency and seeing and hearing how someone like Sippy was attempting to coach Daniel into fooling the courts to be deemed competent. and the extent of the catfishing and trolling continuing even with Daniel incarcerated. So, I packaged up information that I wanted to flag and general details that I thought were relevant and I sent the information to Daniel's defense team. Jared Westbrook responded and looped in a few others from his team and Jared requested to meet in person and was planning to fly out for the meeting.
I was a bit surprised that they were willing to travel just for the meeting, but I was interested in seeing how the meeting would go. Jared explained in an email about wanting to meet personally due to the fact that I wanted to remain anonymous, so he wanted to verify me and my information personally so he could use it in court if needed.
Within a few days of my email outreach, Jared and an investigator on his team scheduled flights and were in my area.
The three of us met at a hotel. The meeting was probably 2 hours, but not overly long. I had no idea what to expect, honestly. The two introduced themselves and mentioned that they were glad I reached out. They said that they had gotten a decent amount of emails and calls related to Daniel, but that no one was willing to actually have a conversation with them. They said I was the first person who was actually willing to meet with them and they were interested in hearing more about certain aspects.
I explained my background and involvement and the specific areas of concern that I originally flagged in my initial emails. I had my laptop pulled up for the two of them to see and I walked them through a series of documents that I had prepared where I explained timelines, key people involved, etc. Both of them acknowledged and had a good sense of humor about what they had walked into with the world of Daniel Larson. The investigator mentioned going through the subreddit and figuring out all of the random characters involved with odd names like Turkey Tom, Flexberger, and Blark.
Jared mentioned how people from his extended team of federal defense attorneys and staff were intrigued with it all. how he saw super old pictures of him randomly popping up on Reddit and the comments people were making about him and his team on the sub.
He even said he printed out a comment someone made about him on Reddit and put it up in his office.
They asked questions like whether I thought Daniel had the ability to carry out any of his threats or if I thought he ever would, whether I believed he was influenced by anyone else during any of the threats he was charged with.
Questions about Daniel's background and the people in Daniel's life, and about my original report to McDougall, they said their main focus was on reducing Daniel's sentencing exposure. It seemed clear that he made the threat, so their priority was advocating for a lighter sentence and making sure that his needs were fully represented. They were interested in talking with a few others if they were open to it. The names that came up were Flexburgger, Clark, and the person who was pretending to be Grace Vanderwal at the time. I gave the defense team Clark and the fake Grace's contact info, but neither resulted in an actual conversation. I left feeling like Daniel was in good hands and that Jared and the investigator were well equipped to put together a strong defense and advocate for him.
Right before Daniel's final competency hearing, a Reddit user claimed to be a former BOP employee at MCFP Springfield.
He claimed that Daniel was in his direct care and was hosting an AMA to answer people's questions about what Daniel was like in prison. The user would go on to make some pretty wild statements, some potentially accurate and most others completely made up. It became apparent within a couple of hours that people weren't really believing him. So, he quickly deleted his entire Reddit account. I believe he will not be found competent. There is not a single federal judge or chief psychologist that would say he is mentally fit to stand trial.
Daniel had a confirmed use of an illicit substance continuously. He sings non-stop. He attended an inmate talent show and sang in front of 30 plus people. Confirmed prior drug use. The interesting part of this whole thing was that the Reddit user actually turned out to be a former MCFP Springfield BOP employee. Despite making all of those false claims, presumably for clout, the user sent his payub and uniform to moderators of the subreddit, which appeared to actually check out. The Larsson leak team was also able to obtain the documentation and track down the actual individual responsible based on usernames used as well as details from his payub.
It turns out that the individual's employment ended with the bop soon before he made the post and he was an entry-level bop guard who didn't actually have direct care of Daniel.
We're not even sure if they ever crossed paths with Larsson at all.
However, he was even Facebook friends with Dr. Hansen, the BOP psychiatrist who testified to Daniel being competent, as well as many of the other MCFP Springfield employees.
Regardless of if the information was accurate or not, the user likely broke numerous federal laws and BOP rules that even past employees have to follow. For most people who are watching who don't get what I mean, claiming information about a federal inmate's medical history, medicine schedule, intake, showering schedule, movements within the prison, etc. usually are strictly prohibited from being shared outside of those prison walls.
Quincy notified Daniel's defense team of this, which seemed to be a concern legally, especially with the ongoing competency evaluation.
We're still unsure of what action, if any, has been taken since that previous reporting.
After three four-month treatment cycles at MCFP Springfield, an evidentiary hearing was held in Denver to review evidence and hear arguments from both the defense as well as the prosecution regarding whether Daniel was competent or not. On January 22nd, 2026, the court filed a list of potential witnesses that were subpoenenaed to testify in the competency hearing, although only two of those nine actually ended up testifying.
On the list were Dr. Caitlyn Hansen, the lead psychiatrist at MCFP Springfield, who evaluated and treated Daniel, Dr. Mark Mills, the independent psychiatrist that Daniel's defense brought in to evaluate Daniel. Robert Proctctor, better known as Bob Proctor, Daniel's longtime friend and mentor. Greg Suarez, who was believed to be a trust fund manager, potentially pointing to a trust fund that Daniel's grandma may have actually left for him. Mandy Doryand, a local Highlands ranch counselor who likely worked with Daniel in the past.
Ian Thompson, the head of Daniel's Old Caretaker Company.
Alicia Cho, a psychiatrist expert, Jodie Marquez, the operations director for Roundup Fellowship in Denver, someone who worked to help Daniel with housing in the past. And finally, Tiffany Montana, Daniel's old therapist.
>> What would you like to talk about?
>> I'm not going to be involved.
Although the mighty gang of nine were assembled to testify on behalf of Daniel, only two people actually ended up testifying in court. Dr. Hansen and Dr. Mills, the two psychiatrists. On March 3rd, 2026, Judge Rodriguez finally ruled on Daniel's competency, and we were able to see exactly what each side was arguing and what exactly those findings were.
Daniel's defense hired Dr. Mark Mills.
Dr. Mills was famously involved in evaluating defendants like Wade Wilson, aka the Deadpool killer, James Terry Collie Jr., as well as an alqaeda suspect. Dr. Mills at the time determined that Daniel could not be restored to competence. In his opinion, the BOP filed a certificate of competency stating that Daniel was in fact competent to stand trial. Due to these clearly conflicting findings, the court held an evidentiary hearing for both sides to argue their findings. The BOP was arguing that Daniel was competent to stand trial and Daniel's defense was arguing that Daniel was unable to be deemed competent because he lacked the ability to meaningfully help his defense in his own case. In Judge Rodriguez's ruling, she summarized the findings that were argued in court. She recapped some of the points that the BOP psychiatrist, Dr. Hansen, made. Dr. Hansen spent close to a year treating the defendant. She diagnosed Daniel with autism spectrum disorder level one and unspecified schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorder. Dr. Hansen testified that when Daniel first arrived at the BOP medical center in December 2024, he suffered from the delusional belief that he was in a relationship with a celebrity singer. Daniel's belief in this relationship and his own celebrity status as a singer and model is reinforced by individuals on social media who encouraged these delusions.
Dr. Hansen testified that Daniel received fan mail from individuals who provided Daniel screenshots of conversations regarding his relationship with the celebrity singer.
Beginning in February 2025, Daniel started taking anti-csychotic medication and his psychotic symptoms improved with medication.
Dr. Hansen reports that Daniel no longer dominates interactions with conversations related to his delusional beliefs. Daniel still would like to be a famous singer and songwriter, which Dr. Hansen attributes to fantastical thinking strengthened by interactions with his quote unquote fans.
In the court filing, Dr. Hansen talks about Daniel's mental health history.
The 2011 records indicated that Daniel had a history of headbanging.
This continued into adulthood. In 2017, Daniel was hospitalized after he hit his head, broke multiple holes in the walls, and threatened to kill himself because he felt overwhelmed. In 2023, he was brought to a hospital for punching himself in the face after getting upset.
While at FCI Englewood, he hit himself in the face because he was frustrated.
Not to mention, there are also reports of other head injuries and trauma. In fact, the report from 2011 states that he had a non-acal head injury at around the age of 3 weeks old and a seizure at around 5 months old. Daniel also reported that when he was 8 years old, his mother hit him with a hammer. If you watched the last episode, we debunked those last two instances about how the hammer thing likely did not happen and how the head injury likely points to Daniel's father, Travis, despite all of the internet flaming his mother for it.
Daniel took two IQ evaluations with an average score of 72.
The judge finalized her ruling by stating that Daniel Larson had been restored to competency and the case would continue to trial.
Alamita Wodsworth is the pseudonym created by an individual who attempted to attend the February 3rd court hearing. While we can confirm that they in fact were in the courthouse, we cannot directly confirm their claims.
Wodsworth shared that Daniel has put on weight. Just eyeballing it, it seems to be around 15 to 20 lbs gained. His haircut is longer than April 6th, but shorter than the CU Boulder arc. Daniel was very calm and lucid. No fidgeting, darting eyes, or rocking in his chair.
Daniel could tell that Wodssworth was an online follower, not a legal expert, but maintained his composure. Daniel didn't have the same homeless skitso trying to act normal energy that we would typically see on the body cams. He also didn't have that much facial hair, but he did have a little bit of what the user called chin pubes. Wadssworth was removed from the courtroom before the proceedings started. According to Wodssworth, this doctorred image is very close to what Daniel looked like.
Soon after Daniel was deemed to be competent to stand trial, we were notified that Daniel had reached a plea agreement with the government. This is the typical route defendants take because the federal government rarely will indict someone on federal charges unless they know 100% the person is guilty and that they'd win at trial.
Knowing that Daniel is stubborn and refuses to accept responsibility at all for anything, deep down, many thought that he would take the case fully to trial. On March 20th, the court confirmed that they would hold a change of plea hearing on April 9th, where the full plea agreement would be revealed and accepted or denied. On that April 9th, 2026 day, the 2-year long legal saga of Daniel Larson reached its definitive turning point. After months of evaluations and back and forth regarding his mental state, Daniel appeared before Judge Regina Rodriguez to formally enter a change of plea.
Alamita Wodsworth attended the hearing.
Alamita reported that 20 minutes before the start of the hearing, he and around five other Daniel Larson fans were waiting to be let inside the courtroom along with Daniel's attorney, Jeffrey Failer.
Alamita shared that there were ultimately around 10 fans that were in the courtroom gallery.
He said that Daniel did an angry tongue as he sat down. Daniel had a slightly grownout buzzcut and quote unquote longass claw fingernails and was still chubbier like he was seen during his previous competency hearing. Daniel was seen as being tense before the hearing started. Then it began. The plea deal was straightforward but significant.
Daniel agreed to plead guilty to count six of the indictment.
The specific charge related to the interstate communication of threats, specifically targeting none other than special agent McDougall. In the plea agreement, McDougall noted all of the times he was contacted or met with Daniel. And it was way more than we knew. August 18th, 2023, August 30th, 2023, September 6th, October 3rd, October 19th, and November 30th, all in the same year. And that's just over the course of the four months discussed in the court filing. It doesn't include the various times McDougall interviewed Daniel in early 2024 that we know about.
If we look back at these dates, McDougall was making contact with Daniel after most of the concerning threats Daniel was making at the time.
But now we can see that Daniel McDougall was behind things like Daniel's October 19, 2023 arrest in Jefferson County. And apparently McDougall even met Daniel before or after his November 30th, 2023 court hearing in relation to his incident at Folsam Field. It was always McDougall, and it's fitting that the one charge that stuck was Daniel's threats against him.
But anyways, back to his plea deal. In exchange for this plea, the government agreed to dismiss the other six counts, which included the various bomb threats that not only were a concern to those who saw his post, but also to the local community that he was threatening. Court records show that the DDRC had to go on lockdown and have the police sweep the building for bombs after Daniel made his bomb threat against them. Let that sink in.
Despite some misleading media reports claiming that he pleaded guilty to the bomb threats, the record is clear. Those counts were dropped.
As a part of the agreement, Daniel also had to abandon his rights to his Motorola Moto G stylus phone, essentially handing over the very tool he used to document and broadcast his threats to the world.
It's quite a symbolic end with his phone being his lifeline while also being the reason that he was in trouble in the first place. Oh, the stories that phones could tell, man. Jesus Christy. Both the defense and the government also agreed on a range of 27 to 33 months in federal prison as Daniel's expected prison sentence.
It is important to note that Daniel will receive credit for the time that he has already served since being taken into custody. However, the final sentencing decision did not happen on April the 9th. Judge Rodriguez has deferred the final approval of the plea deal until she can review the presentance investigation report.
This report will be a deep dive into Daniel's history, mental health, the circumstances of his crimes, etc., which will ultimately guide the judge's final ruling. So, chat, the final boss date, it's now set. Daniel is scheduled to return to court on July 21st, 2026 at approximately 100 p.m. for his formal sentencing.
On July 21st, we will learn the exact fate of Daniel Larson.
The judge will be ruling on Daniel's actual sentencing within the ranges already determined by the plea agreement.
So that basically means 27 to 33 months in federal prison, 1 to 3 years of supervised release with conditions, and also a fine between $10,000 and up to $95,000.
But even as the case moves toward a close, the court is making it clear that Daniel's isolation from the community that fueled his delusions is an absolute priority.
The judge ordered the Bureau of Prisons and US Marshalss to notify the court of any contact, harassment, or threats made toward Daniel by outside parties. This means that anyone writing letters pretending to be Grace or trying to catfish Daniel into calling you, it'll all be documented and reported to the court. This seems to be a key focus for them moving forward. This will continue even after Daniel is released from prison. So, uh, yeah, don't touch the poop. When Daniel is released with restrictions, the conditions will be so strict because Daniel just cannot be falling back into doing the same [ __ ] he was doing before. We can likely expect things like restricted internet access, restricted social media access, an ankle monitor, probably a curfew, and probably an inability to leave the state of Colorado. And when we say restricted, we mean he probably won't have any internet or social media access at all. All this to say we likely won't be hearing from Daniel for a while, if ever again. If anyone tries to contact him or attempts to troll him, it will be reported to the authorities and the person will either be banned from making further contact or even possibly investigated to see if it meets the legal threshold to actually bring charges. And if Daniel decides to break one of his conditions, like trying to use social media, that itself is grounds to send him back to prison for even longer. So, while Daniel Larson's story is over for the time being, fear not, as the Larsson Files series is only getting started. I know this is said each episode, but Larsson Leak wants to thank you for the insane support on the series thus far. Larsson Leak actually recently opened up a Patreon page. So for those wondering why or what its purpose is, let me explain in Flex's own words. As many of you already know, I've been pretty dedicated to the TLF series on YouTube. I've had tons of random Daniel videos, photos, and calls over the years. I don't think we'll ever make a TLF episode, but still definitely need to be seen. So, I figured this Patreon would be a good opportunity to finally share them. As far as production, editing, writing for TLF, I'm a one-man band. I know Larsson Leak might be portrayed as a whole group of people, but that isn't the case. These videos take a very long time to make, and with adequate support, I can speed things up and improve production quality through hiring artists. My goal here on Patreon is to post a long- form video here every week or so, whether that be a 5-minute preview, a scrapped YouTube/TLF segment, a call, or an entire 45minute episode early, and sprinkle in random artifacts like screenshots, pics, documents, etc. whenever I feel like it. Flex has already published unseen calls from the UCLA arc and more. Also, whether you hate this series or love it, you can now also rate the series on IMDb. So, be sure to tell us what you think of both in the comments and there. Anyways, I've been Kusari. Me and Flexberger actually have something pretty cool cooking up for you guys over on my channel. But with that being said, thank you so much for watching and I will see you guys next time.
Oh, hey.
