Pain often returns because the nervous system develops protective movement patterns to avoid the painful area; effective treatment requires addressing these underlying movement patterns and retraining the nervous system, rather than just treating the symptom.

You Fix Your Pain… But It Keeps Coming Back? Here’s WhyAdded:
So, why does your pain keep coming back?
Now, you may be someone who's had a type of pain in a joint or an area of the body, and you've had the area worked on, and it feels it feels better.
But, then you're back in the gym, you're back playing with the kids, and then you kind of feel it go again. You feel something's not quite right. So, what we do, we just ignore it, and we put it down to, "Oh, there's an issue there, but I'll just get through it." Then it may get worse, then you go and see someone, the area gets worked on again, and it feels a little bit better again, and that kind of cycle starts to repeat round time and time again. Now, this is very, very common, and I specialize in working with people with that issue, pain that just doesn't go away. And I'm going to tell you exactly why it keeps coming back. You see, when we have a pain in the body, what we've got to understand is the body, the nervous system, will actually start to develop movement patterns to take pressure away from the painful area. So, that means our body recreates a way of moving that avoids it. So, when we get the painful area worked on, that feels better, but behind the scenes, our nervous system, our body, is still moving with that protective pattern in place. So, the nervous system is still sensing a threat because it's learned to move away to avoid the threat. Now, when I work with someone, we want to make sure we're assessing the whole system.
So, what we're really looking for are these postural and movement deviations that the nervous system's learned to develop to stay away from the painful area. And this is why we get such good results every single day. We're not just looking at treating the symptom, we're looking at treating and strengthening the whole system. It may be, for instance, at the level of impact trauma.
You might have been on a run, and you might have twisted the ankle. Well, obviously, we need to focus on the ankle, but what we need to do is start to reload it efficiently, and start to change the pattern that your nervous system's created to avoid shifting weight onto the ankle. Cuz if we get the ankle 100% right, but we've not addressed the movement pattern itself, our bodies are still going to be in a place of feeling it has to avoid that area. So, we actually go so much deeper into the nervous system and to movement patterns, rather than just looking at the painful area. You see, this is the thing, if we just start treating the symptom, the pain generally will always come back. So, we want to go one layer deeper, working with how the body naturally moves, and we can actually start to retrain the software, which is the nervous system, to in turn affect the hardware. And in this case, it's how the body moves. And this is how we get such good results. So, if you're someone who's having recurring pain, you've seen multiple people time and time again, possibly, but nothing's getting it just quite right, this system, the Core 3 Method, works.
