Constitution Amendment Bill No.3 debates begin

[00:00:00]Debate on the constitutional amendment number three bill has now begun in the national assembly with legislators debating the bill clause by clause.

[00:00:08]Among the first provisions to come under the spotlight were clauses 17 and 18 which proposed merging the Zimbabwe Gender Commission into the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission.

[00:00:19]Legislators said a standalone gender commission ensures women's issues receive the attention that they deserve.

[00:00:25]It is their argument that the Zimbabwe Gender Commission should remain untouched.
