London's historic landmarks span multiple centuries, with Tower Bridge completed in 1894, the Tower of London's White Tower built in 1066, All Hallows by the Tower Church founded in 675 AD as the oldest church in the city, and the Monument to the Great Fire of London commemorating the devastating fire of 1666 that began when a baker failed to extinguish a spark in his bakery.

What I did during my flight attendant layover in the City of London! 🇬🇧 #shortsAdded:
I'm a flight attendant for the United States Air Force and this is what I did on my first of my four-day layover in England. It's crazy that I'm actually here. My crew and I arrived in the country late in the evening. Just like that, I'm in London. Then we took the long drive from the airport to our hotel.
Damn.
What is this? Too fancy for me. Sheesh.
Once we checked in, I went to my room.
The next morning, I left my hotel and began my first day in London. Now, this isn't my first time in the city with me visiting with my family over 20 years ago, but it was so nice to be able to go back, but this time as an adult.
>> Oh my gosh, you guys, I see it. I see Tower [music] Bridge. My very first stop of the day was the Tower Bridge, which was completed in 1894. After admiring the view, I walked on the bridge across the Thames River to head towards my next destination, the Tower of [music] London. Once inside, we were able to freely roam around the area. I went to the Crown Jewels exhibit before making my way to the White Tower, which is the oldest part of the Tower of London being built in 1066. Afterwards, I briefly stopped by the nearby All Hallows by the Tower Church, which was founded in 675 AD, making it the oldest church in the city of London. I then walked to the Monument to the Great Fire of London.
And the Great Fire of 1666 basically started here, at least this is the plaque to commemorate what happened.
There was a baker that for some reason or another didn't put out his fire when he was going to sleep. Basically, there was a spark and that essentially led to the destruction of most of medieval London.
>> After briefly stopping by St. Paul's Cathedral, since I wanted to head back to my hotel soon, I decided that my last stop of the day would be the British Museum. And after almost an hour's wait in the summer heat, God damn, that took forever. I'm going in. I finally made it inside and saw many of the exhibitions and artifacts that were on display.
After some fish and chips for an early dinner, I made my way back to my hotel to rest for the remainder of the day.
Stay tuned for my next video where I'll spend my second day England layover heading outside London to Windsor Castle and Stonehenge.
>> I've heard about this place for like years and years and years and like I'm actually here.
