Pond Up Flow Bog Filter with Water Fall and Aquaponics is DoneAdded:
Well, I put the guys to a stop over putting stone and we need to get over here and put uh primer in epoxy primer. I'm going to go ahead and use that primer that I had bought for the swimming pool because it's going to be my best option. I can just buy more.
The primer is not hard to get anyway.
And so we had put neutralizer on all this and now we're going to go in there and get it all sealed over. And this will fill in all the little holes and voids and stuff that if you put paint or like a rubber coating or anything over it, it'll bubble up in behind it cuz if there's air and stuff, little gaps in the concrete, that air will push out and swell that up like a kind of like a balloon does if it's elastic or make it peel. But that true solventbased two-part uh epoxy primer, it will actually go into some of those holes and filled fill it in with like a hard seal. And then if you get the paint back over it in the right timeline without having to scuff it, well, it'll bond over that. You won't have those bubbles coming through delaminating it.
Uh had somebody ask where we got these plants at. Um we started just with a few about 10 pieces and a little blue um barrel and cut off like of a 55gallon drum. And we put them up there over at the felisi tree and let them start multiplying. And then um eventually after it was about 30 pieces with some little young ones in there, I threw it all over into the pond and it's multiplied all down in here and different places and it's all up around at the other end up in a little spots too and it kind of floats back and forth and that's also helping condition the water. But you can just get that even just grows here natural at places. You don't really have to go by it. There was somebody had some here close by and I think Melinda went over there and gave them a few pesos for a few pieces of it.
Okay, good. So, they're getting it in there. This is a gray color.
Yeah, man. That's looking good.
There's some gaps behind this stone back here in the back. behind the stone.
>> Yeah, on all this. Yeah, probably from your side. You didn't see it. Marvin's been getting the boat cleaned up.
So, he's been really getting it cleaned up. Look at that. Well, it's looking good again.
Very nice. He's getting it all drained out right now.
Get all the salt off of it. Looking good.
So, they got the tank primerred in back there. And now we're going to paint it in. But I've got two different paints here.
I've got a black and a blue. And this is called clear blue right here, which is pretty nice.
You see that right there?
And then we got um this black over here.
And being that's what I have, that's what I'm going to use cuz I have these here already. I was going to paint my little boat trailer with this blue before, but I then I didn't. I painted it black. So, I have this sitting here and I've spent the money on it and it'll be just fine for painting in over that epoxy primer.
This is not no specific pond paint, but it will hold up in this particular environment because there's no chemicals or nothing like that. It's just fresh water. We're not running anything like chlorines or nothing like that that's going to affect it.
But you do what's safe for your pond and I'll do what's safe for mine.
But this is a true solvent coating going over a true solvent epoxy primer that is actually a pond primer. It's should hold up really good actually.
It's a pretty color.
Man, Miller already got it all over his face right there. Look at that. All over his face, man.
Hey, does that color look good on Miller? Show Melinda.
Does it look good? Nice. Should make it even on the other side.
>> Huh?
>> No, no, no. Keep mixing. You're so excited for break time. so he don't get his face painted.
It's break time now. It's break time.
This guy standing here painting my face.
>> Ah, Mr. Mr. Syndicate don't like when the syndicate returns paybacks.
for the pin push.
Let him pour all that first.
>> Let's leave it just like that. Don't mix.
>> Okay.
I'm curious how this is going to turn out.
Go ahead, use one of those. Mix it real quick.
>> Boy, it's just going to be black, ain't it? Just black. It's okay, though.
>> I figured it was going to be. That's what I told Cap earlier. He said, "I wonder what color it going to be." I said, "Probably just black." And I was right.
>> Cuz there's so much pigment in that black. It overtook it. But it's starting to lighten up a little bit.
It lightened just a little bit.
>> It's not bad.
>> You You need a straw, Miller. Huh?
>> Yeah. Y'all go ahead and pour it up cuz it's going to be the break time now.
>> Just Yeah. Just put your stick down in there for now.
>> Remember to leave room for the hardener.
But the bottom's still two colors.
You don't need this now. Just drink out of this. It's your new your new drinking glass.
>> Sh.
Miss Mel got y'all some snacks right here. Juice. Man, y'all are so upgraded here now.
Mel, you going to deduct this from their salary?
Huh?
>> Yeah.
>> How much per head?
>> They eat one bread. Oh, you're you're lessening it down now, huh?
>> And half cup of juice.
>> So, you didn't wear your slippers in there? Oh, you got it all over your slippers, huh?
>> Nice new design. Let's see the bottom of your feet. Why did you go in there barefooted? Let's see your feet.
You got He's got stone foot. I got to see that again. That's Oh my god. What did you walk in there barefooted for?
Goofy.
>> Oh my god, that's hilarious.
>> New design. How does that feel? I bet it feels weird.
There it is. That was the color we came up with mixing those two. Looks pretty dang good, actually.
>> Looks really good. I like it.
>> I think I'll buy the same two colors and mix for the other end.
So, it's just your no slips.
Your no slip shoes. Oh my god.
I can't believe you went in there barefoot on that.
Man, that looks super good.
>> How about this arrow, bro?
>> Uh, just give that to Melinda for a toothbrush.
like that.
They came out looking really good.
He's going to work hard to get that off.
That's going to be on his feet for three days.
Here. Here you go. It's even got little hearts. Just stick that on the bottom of your feet.
>> What you're going to use the >> bolo, bro. You >> just chop off. Just remove.
>> Get >> uh just get on uh Teeu. Order new feet.
>> That is nice.
So, we're stacking gravel right here.
This will be our substrate.
>> It's time to make the guacamole.
Guacamole. I love it.
>> Boy, look what my little senorita's up to.
Mhm. Little melly senorita right here.
This is what she's up to.
Making guacamole. Boy, look here. She's got cilantro right there. Jalapenos.
She got lemon.
She got avocados. Man, she's got it going on is what she's got. Look at this boy. Man, >> this holy moly. I guess you say holy guacamole.
>> Boy, you roughing it in there. You think you got a shovel going?
How are you going to You going to get all classy with a spoon now, huh?
>> Boy, we feel like we're back home in Tahas, don't we?
>> Mhm.
Hello. Good morning. It's moy morning.
Yeah, it's moy. See that one? Yeah, they're start blooming.
I'm sorry, man. Cafe, I'm not really feel good, but I it won't stop me. Like I said, I like to do things. And look at my flowers. It's blooming like me.
It's different color. This what guys I told you. I love waking waking here.
It's release all the stress. Just see the flowers. It's here everywhere.
>> Good morning everybody.
Good morning. Well, I'm excited to get out and get the day going.
So, we're going to get started over here on the end of the pond today.
I'm going to go over here and check it really quick and see how it cured. See if all that seems fine.
And it's beautiful day. Still no rain.
We had hoped for rain, but we were unlucky for that.
So, no luck on that part.
>> Would you catch a frog?
>> Yep. That small crab.
Sure is.
Well, I'm going to get them started here and we will come back to this.
So, we're getting started on the gravel.
We're using some stone that I already had a dump truck load of brought in up front. And we had some of it already bagged.
>> Do all that that fell away more than you, dude.
>> Man, don't hurt yourself.
So, we're in here laying out our pipes on the bottom. All these pipes are drilled on three sides, down and out each side. The top side, leaving it undrilled because anything subtle, we want to settle straight down. So, this way it's always pushing stuff out and away.
And so, down and out the sides. And the holes are staggered. Don't want too many holes. So it's like for instance a side one, a bottom one, a side one, a bottom one as it goes down. So they alternate all the way down through there. So it's going down making a loop and they're putting that loop together down there right now.
And we got that painted up the slot cut and some little supporting stones underneath there. right now. I'm going to do that a little bit better, but there's LEDs underneath there.
So, that's pretty nice.
All right, Joy, we're going to come down here and do the same thing. Just try to this pop here, kind of when you when you put it there, curve it over to this side, kind of keep them wide apart and just bring it back around and connect it right here. Just make another loop again.
So, we do have a T for it. Yeah. So, while you're doing this, go ahead and cut this and add a add a uh Tuc.
Yeah, we we'll reduce it cuz I'll bring that down. I want to kind of keep it over. We don't see it. We can bury it in stone, but go ahead and add it up here close. So, just cut this right here and put it put it there >> like that. Just cut it just enough the to put this in and put it pointing right out the the side here.
That way I bring it in up here. This is plug, but I can always remove this if I need to do a clean out. This cap can always be removed.
But I don't want the it in down low because a drain back situation again. I want it to come in up here high. So yeah, when you make this hole, Joel, when we make one, don't make it down low down there. We'll make it up high up here.
This is really filling up. Now, where I'm standing, that is about where I want it. It's probably, if I had to guess, somewhere between 14 16 in. We're putting a inlet pipe into this right now for the aquaponics. And Miller's going to get a reducer valve to put right there. A reducer, then a valve. And then big main valve right there is so that when we turn off the pump, it don't cause a siphon back. I didn't want to use the check valve because it could get stuck or something with muck and debris cuz this is heavy low water right now.
And once we go down through here and drill in for the rest of these little cups here for the aquaponics or once we do once we get those holes drilled open, I'll take some small little gravel like this and we'll drop down in the bottom of the pipe and we'll create a little bed of gravel along the bottom of the pipe in there. the make the water kind of leech through, not just run through fast. And this also leaves a place for organisms to grow. And it's going to be slow moving water. U why we're going to have a valve where we can really regulate it down and it trickle across and plants growing up out of it there. Then what runs out the other end should be fairly clean water. Uh if it's slow moving and you got some plants living off that, some roots growing in. So anyway, that's the video with that. Yeah, I wrapped that. Perfect.
Well, I've got a pump going down in the sister here pulling water out. It's only pulled out about a foot so far. And let's see if it's still running down here at the other end.
Oh yeah, it's steadily pouring.
Nice crystal clear water.
Rain water has been stored for a while cuz we ain't had no rain in a while.
I can hear bubbling through the stone.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
