Cloud coverage lingers, showers return Monday afternoonAdded:
And now your Fox Carolina First Alert Weather with Meteorologist Katherine Noel.
>> everyone. I do want to show you that those showers have moved on out of here.
Memorial Day's mainly going to be a dry day. Yes, we're going to have some showers and thunderstorm chances at times today. Mainly this afternoon towards this evening though, a lot of cloud cover still lingering this morning, but staying dry at least for now. Those grounds are a little wet. We are going to see a good chance of those showers come back. Not this morning, but into the afternoon, sparking into the upstate anywhere from Anderson down towards Lauren seeing some spotty showers filling in towards the mountains as well. Oh, I just disappeared. This is my little party trick on this Memorial Day. By 6:00 p.m. into the evening, we do have continued chances of showers and thunderstorms here for us as mentioned into Monday night as well. So, taking a look at our high today, scattered thunderstorms and we are going to stay anywhere within mild conditions. That sunrise starting around 6:20 this morning and sunset at 8:33. Going into your Tuesday after that sun does set, waking up to some dry conditions with cloud cover. Little peaks of sunshine here and there. That's for you, Mac. I know earlier she was asking me, are we going to see the sun? I'm sure a lot of people are wondering that. the last couple of days, right? Into Tuesday evening showing a good chance of showers and thunderstorms again. We have waves of gulf moisture coming back into the area the multitude of this next couple of days into Wednesday as well afternoon and evening. But, little peaks of sunshine here and there. So, going from mostly cloudy mornings to partly cloudy by the afternoon towards the evening continuing chances of rain Thursday.
Now, Friday looks to bring a better chance of some dry conditions. We do have a little bit of a change of flow on the way into Sunday as well. Clearing on out. So, this looks to be our best chance of all of that gulf moisture finally off towards our south moving towards southern Georgia into the Jacksonville area where you can see that alignment of at least better winds off towards our south and pulling in the moisture from the west. So, for us, we are going to get some drier conditions into Sunday potentially and then into the start of next week. So, expect it to still be a wet one this week with highs in those low to mid 80s as we go through middle of the week towards end of the week. And then back to some cooler highs in the 70s over the weekend.
