Now, in this tutorial we'll be studying The Stylistics. Stop, look, listen to your heart. That's right, look you heard me, I'll do my best to interpret these chords and progressions. And if I can help anybody with this song, then I'm all for it. Let's get to it.

[00:02:14]All right, here we go. The Stylistics, Stop, Look, and Listen to your heart, man. A classic, a classic classic tune that we are studying today by none other than The Stylistics. Now, this one right here is going to be in D flat major and >> [music] >> D major. Now, uh I do my research online and I uh look at the suggested keys and I just did not see the keys uh that I was hearing. Now, when you do play this song alongside the song on YouTube or say the album, uh you're going to experience a slight rub. Now, what I did was uh chose the key that had less rub.

[00:03:06]Now, you have these rubs because of the studio techniques that were used back then. You had tape, you had pianos that could fall out of tune, tapes that might be a slight um millisecond uh under the suggested uh speed of the tape or a slight millisecond over. So, it would have these slight rubs, but what I did was I found the key that had less rub.

[00:03:35]Now, that first key is going to be a D flat major, [music] right?

[00:03:42]Right, so D flat, E flat, F, G flat, A flat, B flat. My finger is off. C, D flat major. And then we'll modulate a half step to D major, right?

[00:03:55]>> [music] >> All right. So, D, E, F sharp, G, A, B.

[00:04:03]C sharp, D major, right? Now, what we have in that [clears throat] introduction is going to be this here, right?

[00:04:11]>> [music] >> Right? This is going to be starting off with our B-flat minor 7, B-flat in the bass, [music] A-flat in the right hand, D-flat, F, right? So, right? [music] And then we'll go to this E-flat 7 with a 9, E-flat in the bass, >> [music] >> G in the right hand, D-flat, F. Now, what we're doing [music] is when we're in this B-flat minor 7, we just switch that bass [music] to an E-flat, and we'll move this A-flat down to a G, right?

[00:04:47]A nice 2-5 movement, right? So, B-flat minor 7, E-flat [music] 7 with a 9, and then we'll change to [music] our E-flat minor 7 with a 9, right? So, E-flat in the bass, [music] G-flat right hand, B-flat, D-flat, F, right? So, [music] I was just here, so I'll just move this G down to this G-flat, and add the B-flat, right? For our E-flat [music] minor 7 with a 9, and then we'll go back to this B-flat minor 7.
