Pregnancy involves significant physical changes including increased body hair growth, darkening nipples, breast enlargement, and potential heart rate irregularities, which often differ from the idealized expectations portrayed online; the reality typically includes challenging first trimester symptoms like fatigue, nausea, and emotional depletion, while the emotional journey involves adapting to new relationship dynamics, improved communication with partners, and navigating body image changes, all of which can be supported through community connection and self-care practices.

The Bump Club: Pregnancy Expectations vs. Reality
Added:What's your favorite thing about pregnancy?
Cricket. Cricket. Amy just was telling us that she's got a hair on her shoulder.
>> I swear it's like an inch long. Wait, can you look?
>> Yeah. Oh, yeah. I see it.
>> It's like long.
>> Why are my shoulders growing hair?
>> Taylor and I were sitting on the couch last night and he starts going like this to me and I'm like, "Is there a hair?"
He's like, "I think it's connected to you." And I was like, >> he thought it was a dog hair. I need to just start applying my face.
>> Apparently, I need to do it to my whole body.
>> Yeah, me too, brother. Between the body hair, the dark nipple, the nipples.
>> Oh my god, the nipples are wild.
>> I didn't know that they could get that way.
>> Why now? Like pepperonis.
>> It's alarming.
>> And I know they're going to get worse.
>> I know.
>> My mom friends have shown me their nipples. That's what we have to look forward to.
>> They're They're really like the best things. I'm trying to think.
>> What is that? Is that sugar?
>> No, it's lime. Oh, this is sour.
>> Oh my god. Do you feel sick?
>> We can pause.
>> No, no, I'm fine. I was sick 24/7. Fine.
I just needed a little something.
>> Before we get into this, UM, LEMON DROPS.
WELCOME BACK to another um Bump Club episode. We were in the same clothes as last time, but these episodes are separated. Um cuz we just have so much to talk about, so we're just getting into it. Um Amy just before while we were giggling was telling us that she found a hair on her shoulder.
>> No. Okay, so as I was saying, I am not a naturally hairy girl, but I don't know how I found this, but when I was showering last night, I literally found the longest hair on my shoulder. I swear it's like an inch long, and it's literally just one hair.
>> You didn't pull it out. It's still there.
>> No, it's still there cuz I pull over here, but I just can't look at it.
>> Really?
>> Don't like tweeze it?
>> Oh, yeah. I see it.
>> It's like long.
>> Yeah. Yeah, I see it. But it's like it's like uh it's not even the same color as your hair. It's like >> No, it's like blonde or gray.
>> A lot like peach fuzz kind of.
>> Yeah, but it's the weird like Why am Why are my shoulders growing hair? No, >> but it's only one hair. It's not even like a hair.
>> No, I had this on the back of my arm. A one long peach fuzz for no reason. It's literally just like that.
>> Strange.
>> Taylor and I were were sitting on the couch last night and he starts going like this to me right here. Literally right here off my lip. And he keeps going like this and I'm like, "Is there a hair?" hair. He's like, "I think it's connected to you." And I was like, "Oh, dear God."
>> He thought it was a dog hair cuz the dog's hair is always like >> on our faces because they're they like live on the couch with us. But he was literally like going like this and I was like, "What is it? A dog hair?" And he's like, >> "Did you pluck it?
>> I haven't even I have so much. I need to just dermiplane my face." But >> yeah, I need to do that.
>> I was literally like >> apparently I need to do it to my whole body.
>> Yeah, me too, brother. That is Yeah, that's definitely one thing that's been um >> the hair growth is >> Yeah, we can just get into it. The hair growth is really >> I definitely think that's the symptom that I wasn't expecting.
>> I haven't experienced like that. I mean, my hair my hair grows I feel like pretty standard. I haven't had some like in crazy fluctuate influctuation like in my head hair, but everywhere else I'm like shocked every time I get in the shower and I'm like what is this?
>> Everywhere. Yeah. Like everywhere I did laser hair removal has hair >> has come back. The weirdest thing for me has been like my like upper outer thigh like up here is just >> Yes.
>> But like I didn't I kind of had I mean I definitely like >> my my ethnic background is not um >> very kind to me in the hair department.
Um, but it like had gone away and I had just finished like a few rounds of laser and the laser does take me a little bit longer because I do have hair, but also because I was >> because of like the >> PCOS and going off birth control, I couldn't do it at like I'm a perfect candidate for it because I'm white and my hair is dark, >> right?
>> And but she couldn't do it at like the normal setting because my I was like getting all the little hive things and she was like, "We just need to turn this down." But it's like gone. So now I'm like, when the baby comes out, is it going to like go away or going to Am I going to have to start over?
>> I think you have to start over.
>> Yeah, I was going to say I think you have to start over.
>> Like Well, is it going to like stop being as like I've never had hair up here on my leg. Is it still going to just be there >> or because my hormones leveled out >> after the baby?
>> Maybe.
>> Did you get hair removal from there previously?
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, yeah. I think you have to start over then.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah, because I remember being warned by people that I would have to like That's why I haven't lasered my bikini yet because people have said that.
>> Oh yeah. It was like amazing for a couple of months and then once I stopped it all just came back. Like it's not a permanent thing. You still have to like have somewhat of a upkeep with it.
>> Yeah.
>> My sister-in-law actually gave me like an at home laser thing that I'm not using now. Obviously >> the IPL little Yeah. And honestly it worked. Like obviously you have to like do your laser hair removal sessions like at like a place but just for like touch-ups it does work.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. So I'll probably go back to that after pregnancy. I can't wait. That's something that we have been talking about, the three of us, is just how excited we are to get looking like the best version of ourselves after these babies come out because I just really think I took for granted all of the things I could have been doing.
>> I will be skipping on over to the med spa.
>> Yep. We will be booking appointments. We will keep them booked and busy. No, I'm like so excited to get micro needling done after this. I'm just >> Oh my gosh, I need that.
>> I'm itching. So, >> I've never done it before. I want to do it.
>> I was about to do it for the first time.
That's literally the appointment I had.
>> Yeah, >> I guess.
>> Should have just done it.
>> I guess we'll never know. I know. I should have taken the test.
>> D I know. Um, is there any other um pregnancy symptoms? That's a question in here. Like pregnancy symptoms you didn't know or like the weirdest.
>> I feel like I've had every pregnancy symptom.
>> Everything is a symptom. That's >> Well, yeah. That's my That's my new thing.
Like even like like my heart beating so fast out of my chest. We've talked about this before, but like >> that is like why like that scared me at first. I was like is there something wrong with like me?
>> But I feel like that is a symptom that I wasn't expecting.
>> It's just my heart beating out of my chest like at all times. Like I could just be sitting there not doing anything and I just feel like I have a racing heart.
>> Yeah, same.
>> Maybe it's my anxiety.
I mean >> I mean like I could literally just be like reading my book and I just like and I feel like out of breath something.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Yeah. That's something that was not um talked about. That's why in the last um Bump Club episode I talked about heart monitor. Maybe I've opened up about it by the time this episode >> comes out. Maybe I haven't. But that's what was going on. I was like severely out of breath from just like standing and had to sit down and it was like I was getting really laded and I ended up having an abnormal EKG and then I had to go get an echo cardiogram done of my heart that came back fine and then saw a cardiologist had to wear my little monitor for two weeks and basically came back um this thing called irregular sinus tacic cardia. So basically there's like different heart rhythms. I'm trying to put this in like very layman's terms.
There's different heart rhythms and like when your heart is normal and healthy it's in sinus rhythm. And so my rhythm was fine. So there was nothing life-threatening but it would just like this morning I was standing at my computer. My heart rate jumped up to 140 and I was just like standing.
>> So it like it just that's just what happens. like my heart rate just picks up and my cardiologist was like I could put you on beta blocker but like you don't like like if you weren't pregnant I would say you should do that and like talk to your OB if she would be fine with you doing that if you're symptomatic and I just decided I didn't want to do that cuz I just don't want to have to I just honestly once I found out that it wasn't threatening to the baby um I was like okay like I'll just deal with it. And now it has gotten better since like first trimester hormones have leveled out.
>> Um, and this is honestly something I could have been having, but because of like the increased blood volume and all of the stuff that we deal with, it could have >> I could just be feeling it more now. Um, but it has gotten better, but it's still literally it still happens. So, >> no, that's scary. It's like any symptom that's like weird like that, you like your immediate thought is I don't want this to be harmful to the baby.
>> You know, like that scares you so much.
But as soon as you find out that it's okay, you're like, "Okay, no." Yeah.
It's like no problem.
>> Yeah. No, I think between between the body hair, >> the dark nipple, the nipples.
>> Oh my god, the nipples are wild.
>> No. Wild.
>> I like how I didn't know that. Like, I didn't know that they could get that way.
>> But also, why now? Like, the baby's not here yet. Like, why does it need to happen so early?
>> It's happening. So, yeah, I feel really soon. They got dark who one of us texted first and I know all of us were like no literally saying >> like pepperonis >> it's alarming >> and I know they're going to get worse cuz like >> I know >> my like mom friends have shown me their nipples like sent me pictures and stuff.
I'm like oh like that's what we have to look forward to.
>> But they do go back to normal >> after breastfeeding.
>> Okay.
>> So like a year after >> literally like, >> yeah, it's like a year and a half from now.
>> Okay. My husband's enjoying my big boobs, so it's fine.
>> That's honestly been something that I'm like, the boobs getting bigger is like crazy to me. Like the fact that I'm like literally like a double D is like >> crazy.
>> No, I know. It's so wild. Yeah, >> I don't like it. I'm still I'm like into that.
>> People like comment on my massive boob >> as I did the start of like last episode.
>> Yeah, you were like, "Your boobs just look really big."
They look great. No, I'm like in denial about it. Like I still will wear my C cup bra and >> No, me too.
>> and just be like uncomfortable.
>> This skin maternity bra is the first like bigger bra that I've bought for myself.
>> Yeah.
>> Um I was like, "Okay, I need to stop wearing my extra small/ small bras."
>> Yeah. No. Yeah. I think that would be the biggest I mean, we were even talking like the cellulite and just like the stretch marks, how it happens like >> Mhm.
>> just comes out. I spiraled over that cellulite this weekend.
>> So crazy.
>> I know.
>> It comes out of nowhere.
>> We're motivated.
>> Yeah.
>> To get We're ready to Oh, yeah.
>> I'm trying to think of like other ones that I feel like we've we there's like so many things we've talked about in the group chat. Like does anyone else have this?
>> But that's where I'm like what what else?
>> I know. I feel like our biggest thing is like what we've been like eating too or like what we can and can't consume.
>> That's been the biggest thing. You just had Amy just had sushi for the first time.
>> Sushi. I started crying cuz I was so happy >> for Lemon Drops listening. We've all been like pretty like strict about food.
>> Um like you know the no deli meat, no soft cheese, no sushi. Like that's been we've all been really good. How how many do >> you remember that one time we were at a restaurant and you looked at me and you're like, "Are you doing Bri?" Like as if it was like a drug and I'm like, "Yeah, I'm doing Bri."
>> We did cheat. We got a soft cheese at some like really nice Italian restaurant we were at. And I literally looked at her. I was like, "Are you doing this?"
We were laughing so hard. That's hilarious. No, Tosh and I were at our friend's um birthday dinner at Nou at the beginning of the year and we just sat together at the end of the table and luckily luckily there was enough like food options that we also like weren't feeling that was when I was still feeling bad too.
>> So we weren't like eating too much but there was definitely like a lot of fish that was being passed around that we were like just staring at. So, >> but honestly, it's been so nice because we've been able to like >> have each other to like talk through it.
But yeah, your sushi was good. It made you cry. We actually haven't talked about it.
>> Yeah. No, it was amazing. So, my friend, it was for her 30th birthday. Okay.
>> And she had like um like a sushi chef come to the house and like make sushi.
So, I was like watching him prepare it and stuff and I was like, >> "Looks really good." Like, you know, I feel like it's safe to eat. And he offered he was like, "I'll just like make you like a California roll and like what?" like cooked fish or like whatever. Like he was like so nice >> and I did eat that but then I like snuck a few pieces of real sushi and it was so good. Oh my god.
>> But I it did like open me up to it and I think that maybe I'm a little bit more open to >> eat it now from time to time. But like not like grocery store sushi, you know, like >> like if I go to like an actual good restaurant that I used to go to, then I'm thinking I mean my doctor said it's fine. He said it's fine from like the first trimester.
>> Oh, yours did?
>> Yeah. My doctor has told me that I can eat sushi. It's me with my anxiety where I've been like, I don't want to eat it.
>> Oh, I don't think I knew that. Mine mine was like no.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Mine said it's totally fine.
>> So, I think I might start.
>> It's so >> just like occasionally.
>> Yeah. And then we have so many people like I was asking like our mutual friend. She was like, "No, I ate like she she was like, "I ate sandwiches the whole time."
I have a friend who ate sushi literally throughout her whole pregnancy.
>> So I guess it's just really like what your >> it's your comfort level. Everyone's so different. Yeah. It's whatever you >> But then we were also talking about like you know a big reason is because earlier on if you do get sick like that's just putting so much strain on your body and then the baby and the baby's still so little.
>> But like we could get food poisoning from ordering like a salad. Like there's just >> I hear like a lot of people from lettuce. They're like bowl if you're having salads during your pregnancy and I'm like that's crazy cuz it's I mean it's true. It's like that you could easily get sick from it. Yeah. So I'm like I almost >> like fruit even >> I would trust like >> Yeah.
>> the you know sushi grade sushi >> like if you're going to like Nou or like sea butter or like restaurants like that. It's like it's being prepared well.
>> Yeah. You know, like again, I wouldn't trust like grocery store sushi, but I think from like a reputable restaurant, it's fine.
>> Yeah.
>> Well, we'll see if we'll see if we make that. I mean, does that even like sound good to you?
>> No. I like the like the idea of having sushi sounds so good, but I think cuz I still throw up every day. I rather not have it >> totally >> and then enjoy it once I'm done being pregnant because >> the in the first trimester even like the rare foods that I would feel okay eating once you throw them up then you're just like this is I would just have like a bowl of rice and then I haven't had rice for >> since then because I was just throwing up rice all the time and now that sounds disgusting. So I don't want to like try food that's my favorite food and have a bad experience even though it's not going to have anything to do with the sushi. It's just my body and then not like it. So, that is my first meal when I give birth, though. Like, I already have that planned. I'm like debating if I want to have the giant sushi boat delivered to me like in the hospital or like what? Or >> I keep sending those Sophia, my husband.
>> I'm like, do I want it there or do I want it at home? Like, I want to be able to eat it.
>> I think I'm going to do Sugarfish in the room and then I'm going to go have like a proper >> Yeah.
>> sushi experience somewhere.
>> Yeah. I was planning on having my best friend bring me Sugarfish to >> I don't know why like that's been a pregnancy, not even craving.
>> Also, the sushi boat is so cute.
>> Yeah, the sushi boat is really adorable.
>> I know.
>> I mean, we could have both. Could have one person bring the sushi boat and another person bring >> I just really want I'm so excited.
>> Yeah, I want sushi and a glass of wine.
>> I haven't Yeah, >> that's what I want.
>> Yeah, the wine. The wine. I haven't craved wine like bad yet, but it's mainly like when it's warm and like my friends are having white wine. I'm like, >> no. So refreshing.
>> Yeah. I think this summer we're really going to miss a spritz or like a margarita.
>> I know. But I feel like we've been sending back and forth like good mocktail spritz.
>> We've got some coming up with some like >> Taylor just made like this pineapple luchi mocktail for us the other night.
What? You want one?
>> So good.
>> You make us one later.
>> Yeah, I know. So, honestly, if I tasted it right out, he would be walking in with them. Um, no, that's actually I think something that's going to >> I love luchi. Li is like my favorite.
>> Yeah, I miss I I do. The mocktails are a good a good filler.
>> You need to stop talking about alcohol.
>> Okay. Yeah, we can move on to the next to the next thing.
There's this thing that happens when you're pregnant where you are simultaneously more hungry than you've ever been in your life, but also have the least amount of energy to do anything about it. Like the idea of standing in the kitchen for an hour cooking a full meal at the end of the day sounds genuinely impossible. But I also want to actually eat something real and nourishing, not just whatever is easiest to order. That tension is so real and it's honestly one of the main reasons Tempo has become such a lifesaver for me lately. Tempo delivers fresh, chef crafted, dietitian approved meals right to your door. And they're ready in just 2 minutes. Plus, it's actual real food that was made by someone who knows what they're doing, just waiting in your fridge for whenever you need it. I open a Tempo meal and it genuinely feels like I made a real choice for myself instead of just collapsing into whatever was fastest.
What I also love is that there are 20 new recipes every week, all made from nutrient-rich ingredients, so it never gets repetitive or boring. And there's something for whatever your goals are right now. Proteinpacked meals with over 30 g of protein, fiber richch options, calorie conscious, gut support, and even GLP1 smart meals that are full of protein and fiber to help you feel your best. It's genuinely flexible enough to fit the way you want to eat, which is what I think makes it so easy to stay consistent with instead of giving up after 1 week. Start with Square and build a setup that grows with your business. There's this little boutique with a coffee shop in it near me that I've been going to for forever. And I remember the first time I checked out there after they switched to Square, I actually noticed just how smooth it was. The whole thing took about 10 seconds. She just actually got to talk to me about what I was buying, which is honestly what makes a small business feel special. That's Square doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
Getting the transactional stuff out of the way so the people running the business can just focus on their customers. Square helps you run your business more smoothly, bringing payments, operations, and insights together in one place so you're ready for whatever's next. That's sq a r e.com/go/squeeze.
Get started with Square and build a setup that works the way you do. There are certain pieces you just keep reaching for without even really thinking about it. And the Flow White tank from Lululemon has become one of those for me. I've been living in it lately, and it's the thing I put on when I want to feel like myself and actually be comfortable at the same time. The fabric is called Nulu, and it genuinely is unlike anything I've worn before.
It's buttery soft, weightlessly light, and moves in every direction with you.
You almost don't feel it, which sounds like a small thing, but it really isn't.
When something feels that effortless on your body, you just feel better, more at ease, like you're not fighting your clothes. The Y racer back design gives you this really clean, open feeling through your shoulders and back, and the fit stays put without ever feeling restrictive. It's got a built-in shelf bra and soft support, so it handles whatever your day looks like. I've had it on from morning stretch to running errands and everything in between, and it just works for all of it. And honestly, what I appreciate most is that it doesn't look like workout wear when you're not working out. The silhouette is clean and the design is minimal enough that you can throw something over it. Pair it with whatever and it just looks intentional. It's not screaming athleisure. It just looks like you got dressed and happen to be really comfortable. I wear Lululemon and you should too. Go to lullemon.com right now. New styles drop all the time and the colors go fast, so don't wait. And if something doesn't work for you, free returns always. That's lullemon.com.
lullemon.com. Something I think about a lot lately is just how much has changed for women when it comes to healthcare access. And one of the biggest ones is something I'm so genuinely excited about. Opel is the first over-the-counter daily birth control pill. No prescription, no doctor's appointments, no health insurance required. You just walk into the store, pick it up, or order it online just like you would anything else. That is genuinely such a big deal. So many women have spent years dealing with insurance red tape or long waits to get an appointment or just not having a doctor they felt comfortable talking to about this stuff. Opel removes all of those barriers completely. And before anyone wonders, this is not some new unproven thing. This is a pill that has been prescribed by doctors for over 30 years.
It's backed by more than 50 years of science. It's fully FDA approved and it's safe and effective. The only thing that's changed is that now you don't need a middle step to get it. It's also really easy to use. You take one pill at the same time every day. It starts working after 48 hours and you can start or stop it at any point. You can find it at most major retailers in store and online. So, it's genuinely available wherever is most convenient for you. And honestly, what I love most is that it just puts that decision back in women's hands. You don't have to wait for a referral or hope your insurance covers it or plan around your doctor's availability. When you're ready, you can just go get it. That kind of independence over your own healthcare is something I think every woman deserves and Opill is making it real. Preventing pregnancy is as easy as Opill. Read all label information used as directed.
Okay, these questions are kind of like coincide, but um expectation of pregnancy you had versus the reality.
Um, for me, I think it would be that I thought I was going to feel beautiful and glowy and like feel like >> for sure that this was like the best thing.
>> Yeah, totally.
>> Yeah, that was that's definitely mine.
I've Yeah, that feeling hasn't been there. Um, that fun glowy like self self-confident honestly that I feel like so many women are like, I was so confident in my pregnancy. I'm like waiting for that to like >> Yeah. I feel like once the bumps grow bigger, hopefully that confidence starts to like >> Yeah.
>> grow because we're still like in that phase where we're not like fully rounded out, you know, like >> Yeah.
>> I mean, I think we talked about this in the last episode, but I would say I had more of an expectation to be so excited about it.
>> Yeah.
>> And not that I'm not I'm so excited about it now. like the best thing of my whole life, waking up every day and feeling kicks and like talking to the baby and all the things. But in my first trimester, I had like very little to almost zero joy. Like my spirit was just so depleted because of all of the physical aspects that were so difficult.
And I don't think I was expecting that.
Also because online usually people start posting that they're pregnant in their second trimester when things get a lot better.
So I just never really saw how tough the first trimester was. So I really wasn't expecting >> to be so sad or like in this little hole. But now I get it. So that's Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> No, for sure. Yeah. I don't even know if I had like really an expectation. Yeah.
Well, I feel like >> I mean like the thing about also like pregnancy after loss is like you don't get your first pregnancy back like ever again, you know? So, it's like hard for me to like really think of like how I expected it to go because like >> I like lost the first one and then the second one, you know?
>> Yeah.
>> So, I feel like every like I just take everything like day by day and week by week, you know? Yeah.
>> And I just try to not >> like expect too much because you never know like what's going to happen.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Um on a lighter note, what's your favorite thing about pregnancy?
>> Cricket. Cricket. My favorite thing about pregnancy is honestly besides like just having a baby and how fun that is is my relationship with my husband. Like I am I was already obsessed with this man, but I am like >> he is my pregnancy craving. Like I need him around all the time. I want to spend every waking minute with him. And I like already felt that before. But I don't know, there's something so different after getting pregnant that I'm like >> ultra attached to him. And yeah, it's just so cool like talking to our baby and planning for the future, but also just like my love for him has grown more than I could have ever imagined. So yeah, that's been my my favorite part.
>> Yeah, agree with that.
>> I Yeah, I think I would too. I'm a very like >> I'm a very independent person and I am not like I don't ever really like feel like I quote unquote need Taylor unless I'm like struggling with something. Like I think just because I'm so like >> hyper independent.
>> Um but with pregnancy I've definitely like I've become so needy and it's really funny for me. Taylor's like what is happening to you? But it's honestly it's like it's really fun. Like it's I've enjoyed like >> being needy.
>> Yeah. No, I love being around like I feel like he also works from home so we're together like actually 24/7. Yeah.
And so whenever like one of us doesn't see each other like all day, it's like such a weird feeling and I miss him.
>> Like he's going on a work trip at the end of this month and I'm like what am I going to do at home like all by myself?
You're not even going to be here.
>> I know.
>> But um something else that I like love is like watching her kick, >> you know? Like I could literally just sit there for hours. Like even before we started like rolling this episode, like I was just like had my shirt up and I was >> sitting in the chair with our shirts up and I was like kick and I'm like that is just like the coolest thing that there's just like an actual like baby in our stomachs that we can >> actually feel and now see kick. It's just so cool.
>> I know. Mine was like I had to unbutton my pants cuz whoever's in there was rolling over and I'm like, "All right, this >> Natasha was just waiting to find out the gender of her baby till she gives birth, >> which Amy and I are sad about cuz we want to know.
>> I want to know."
>> That's literally going to be the first.
>> It's going to be so cute like either way. Like if it's a girl >> I know >> it's going to be so cute to have another girl.
>> Yeah. in our group. But if it's a boy, >> I know >> it'll be like a >> They'll just be >> reverse from pretty situation.
>> I know.
>> I'm so excited to find out.
>> I love that. I love that for them. I was telling Natasha that I just need her log into her um >> have it.
>> They they they don't >> they took it off of there.
>> No, they don't give me access to it.
They call me for everything so I can't see. I was I was going to lo in when she went into labor so I can know before she >> No, I literally I don't even have the option to look. Like if I wanted to know, I would have to call them and they would have to tell me. I don't have any login.
>> That's great.
>> Mhm.
>> Cuz if you had to login, you would look.
>> Yeah. Or I think like I would just I don't know like >> accidentally see it like >> Yeah. Well, I was very adamant like even when we told them I was like if you get any email and I don't know if we're going to like do not open anything without me just in case. But she kept like, you know, one of the nurses kept telling us like, "You're not going to get anything." And sure enough, we we have no access to anything other like just this the test results. And then they emailed me the test results that like I could see, but it's all on their site. So, I have no way of knowing unless I was to literally call my doctor up.
>> Yeah.
>> Well, that's good. You know, >> that you can't like accidentally like >> I can't accidentally see because I have I have nothing.
>> Yeah. Yeah. I had to take Taylor and I like four tries to see. when you guys saw your results like I don't have that.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't even if I wanted to see just my results not gender but what what the other testing that we did I couldn't see.
>> Do you remember what company you used for the NIPT?
>> Nera.
>> Nera. Okay.
>> Yeah. Love that for you. I guess we'll wait and see.
>> Will you will find out?
>> Can't wait to see. Um on the note of um our husbands as we were talking about um someone wrote advice on how your relationship has changed and learning to prioritize your marriage during pregnancy.
>> I feel like that you just there's no other option.
>> Also because um I know we were all like very like heavily like reliant on our husbands >> for a lot of stuff. Um, like I know for me Taylor was literally just like it was making like the grilled cheese all the time and like the best grilled cheese literally ever. Literally the best. But just like the food, the filling up the water, doing like things around the house, taking care of the dogs. Like it was so like >> I relied like so much on him.
>> And now that I'm feeling better, it's like nice to like >> and also like my first trimester, I didn't really want to be touched.
>> Like I was like I didn't want to be like snuggly because I just felt sick. And I when I feel like sick, I don't unless I'm like having a meltdown because I'm >> not feeling good. That's why I want to hug. But when I'm like >> feel like bloated or anything, I'm like I don't really want to be touched. And so I definitely went >> like quite a few weeks not wanting to be touched. And now I'm like, "Okay, now I want to snuggle."
>> That's cute.
>> Um, but >> I've really been feeling the biggest thing for me is I struggle with like >> I struggle with confrontation and like saying how I'm feeling. Like if it's something not related to Taylor or like a hard conversation, like it's just like me being anxious, like I'm totally fine talking about that. But anything that has to do with like confronting Taylor about I feel like confronting sounds like such a big word, but anything that is sharing that an emotion that is based off of something someone else did is hard for me to do. Mhm.
>> Um, and I was like talking with my therapist about it and he was like before I got pregnant and he was like, "This is like a muscle you can work on like cuz you didn't grow up in a family that dealt with like confrontation or like it's not something you're used to."
>> But he was like, "You will like get used to it and like you know it'll be like practice and you have a husband that loves you and like wants to actually hear like what you have to say." So that's been like one of the coolest things I think for me during pregnancy is like my patience has lowered and also like >> I'm just like screw it. like I just feel like I need to say whatever I'm feeling.
And it's literally been the best thing.
Like it's been really cool to be able to like voice how I'm feeling and like >> my deep thoughts or things that have bothered me like to tailor and it's been nice to like finally have like the >> I don't know if courage is the right word, but like the >> the oomph >> to do that.
>> No, for sure. I agree. I feel like pregnancy and like even the loss like helped our communication get so much better >> because I had to like really like talk about why someone said bothered me or what they did bothered me or boundaries that I needed to have like with going to events or >> holidays or like things like that. And I had to get like really good at explaining why, >> you know, like why I was feeling a certain way or like why I wanted something to go a certain way. Um, and that is definitely something that doesn't come naturally to me because I'm also an only child. So, I feel like I'm not like used to like voicing what I need.
>> But it's definitely helped us like for him to like understand what I need and for me to understand how to voice that and talk to him so he understands like where I'm coming from.
>> Yeah.
>> But so good.
>> For sure in pregnancy he's definitely stepped up because I needed a lot of help. I mean, I still do, you know, but like especially in the first trimester like with not being able to like even like cook food, like cooking food like grossed me out. So like he really stepped up with cooking >> um or like cleaning the house, things like that.
>> And then he's also like really mindful about like knowing that once the baby comes, he's, you know, likely going to have to help out a lot and he's like very open with that.
>> Yeah.
>> So I mean it's really cool seeing him step up like that.
>> It's great.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Something I've also learned within this time is I feel like, and I don't know if people have different opinions on this. I've like seen a couple comments recently, but this is just my experience of like when I am talking, yes, I am the person who's pregnant, but I think a lot of times when I talk about like we're pregnant, me and Bradley, cuz it's like such a partnership. I truly would not be able >> to do half the things if I didn't have him. Whether it be like on an emotional level or like a physical level of just like the help that he brings. And I've been so blessed and I'm so thankful to have him that like it really has been a cool partnership. And I think expressing that gratitude to him every single day and like also knowing that >> we joke about, you know, you're having like mood swings or you don't eat and then they're the ones that are really having to like take >> the blunt end of that. And I know that that can be hard whether if it's whoever in your life that is like the closest person to you, you know, a friend, a parent, a grandparent, like whoever it is in your life that's really like riding with you through this experience.
And for me, that's Bradley. And every single day I'm like, I need to just remind myself even if I'm having a tough time or like things are rocky, just to be so grateful to this person and express that like they're doing so much for me, you know, just like the little things. And um and then also like prioritizing our marriage and not just making this whole thing about like >> survival, you know, like even today literally Bradley texted me like an hour ago and was like, "Can we go on a date?"
like I just haven't like spent time with you, you know, and we're both working and have busy schedules and then on top of it like half the time when you're done with your day, you're like I just want to sit on the couch and do nothing, which I feel like is so fun for us. We love it. But also like still having those moments to prioritize the person that you're with and making sure that they feel validated and they feel love and they feel seen. So that's been like a cool learning experience for us. Yeah, I've had a little bit of anxiet anxiety recently about like my brain finally like computing that like I guess not computing but really realizing like how different things >> Yeah.
>> are about to be like Taylor and I yesterday were like sitting down and watching TV and I was like what do you like what will we be doing right now?
Like you know if baby was here like what like what will that look like?
>> So true. And it's like fun and like once I voiced it actually yesterday after I voiced it, it was like >> Yeah.
>> It was more like it sounded more fun to me. Like it was less like of an anxious like, oh no, this is coming.
>> Yeah.
>> Once I got it out of my head and like said it out loud because the anxiety to me is like, you know, things are going to change. What is this going to look like? How is this going to work? Blah blah blah. Like all of this stuff.
>> And I think that's just like >> yeah, >> a thought that my hormones are putting in my head that I need to just not think about until >> Yeah. that time comes because literally we're not going to know we're not going to remember any different literally like how we can't remember things from first trimester. I just feel like that's what it's going to >> It's true.
>> Yeah. I found myself getting like emotional about it's just like never going to be just us two again, you know?
Like I was thinking about like we're starting to plan like our baby moon and I'm like that's going to be our last trip together. Like that makes me emotional, you know? And I'll like start crying if I think about it too hard.
>> Or like just like our date night's just him and I or like us going to the movies. It's like we're not really going to be able to go to the movies anymore together without getting like a babysitter or something, you know? I'm like I mean it's all like happy, you know? It's all like good things, but >> it's just like unknown.
>> Yeah.
>> I think that's what it like where they >> end of an era.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Which is crazy.
>> A start of a really great one, >> but a start of a really great one. It's a good thing. It's just like emotional.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. That so true.
>> Yeah. Do you have anything else you're going to add?
>> No, I was just going to say like I I struggled with that a lot too. It was never really like in my brain until the past like two months or something. Just kind of seeing shifts happening or like what the future's going to be like cuz Bradley and I we haven't even been married for a year. So, it's like we really haven't we've had a lot of alone time but like we've been so excited to become parents. But yeah, I think you're just anxious about the future. But I think it's really fun to also have friends that are in the same season of life as you because then you could go like, "Hey, I need a date night. Can I drop my baby off?" Or like, you know, you have your parents or you have uh people that are willing to help you. And like if we're all in it together, then it just becomes this community of like >> making it through and making it accessible for everyone to like still prioritize the different things in their life, whether it be just like work or, you know, literally a self-care day. if we all needed to go and get a massage or like just to go on a walk together, like it's just nice to be in community and have people around you that are like, I get it. You guys have your day. We'll have our day. Like, you know, I just think that's really sweet and I'm lucky that I have you guys. Yeah. Someone asked, "What's the best part of having friends that are pregnant at the same time as you?" Um, I think it's that it's honestly like it's so crazy to think that like we're going to be like going through this together like literally for like the next 20 years. Like this is like >> No, it's not like Yeah, exactly. It's not like just pregnancy. We're like supporting each other >> like me cuz you're >> I know. We're stuck with each other.
We're stuck. Yeah. No, we get to like go through like the newborn phase and then like them walking and them starting to talk and like >> all that like going on vacations together. Like it's just going to be like so fun >> going through like every stage together.
>> Yeah. And I'm so grateful too cuz I feel like the three of us just like mesh really well together too.
>> I feel like our personalities are like similar.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> True.
>> Are you easedropping?
>> Taylor's easedropping from outside. I just cut that out. Unless the mic picked it up.
>> I hope it did.
>> That's so good. No, but it's it's honestly like being pregnant like the best thing I feel like is us just having a group chat being able to like ask questions or to be like >> vent about symptoms.
>> Have your nipples changed? What's the cellulite? Like >> shoulder hair.
>> Literally like there's just like so many things.
>> There's no like taboo topic. There's nothing. It's like off limits. I just literally text each other and be like, "When's the last time you guys had sex?"
Like it's just like there's literally and it makes nothing is tmi with us.
Yeah. So good. you need that is really bad. I I'm sure there's like >> we should link some like mom like support groups. I mean, our comment sections are going to be mom support groups, but like if you don't have friends, I would say like go out and >> find those little like I had I have a few friends that have told me like >> there's cute little things of like mom's meeting in the park or like dear little like the birthing classes and things like that like finding >> moms other moms because >> I think that it's one thing to have, you know, we've talked about how supportive our husbands are and they I think listen to us very well and they support us and like emotionally very well. But there really is just something to voice something like when I was struggling with whatever it was like voicing it to you guys and knowing that you completely understand fully what I'm going through cuz like Taylor is the most supportive person but like he hasn't physically been pregnant. So like when I'm seeing myself, you know, naked in the mirror and crying because I'm like who who is this person? Like what happened to my body? like he can only kind of like support me through that when you guys have like literally walked through it and you're like no like I completely even if there's no like there doesn't even I feel like majority of the time we're not even giving each other advice we're just like yeah same like like that's just having someone to listen to that >> is really nice >> yeah no fear and I have been doing these like weekly photos like every every Saturday um like every week of the pregnancy pregnancy and lately I've just been like not wanting to do them. I'm just like I get like so upset about it.
I'll literally tear up and Oir is like why are you getting upset about it? Like let's just do it like blah blah. And I had to like explain to him. I'm like it's so hard to see your body change like that, you know? And then once I >> explained it to him, he understood.
>> But it's like you never see your body change so rapidly and so fast until like you go through pregnancy.
>> It's like so crazy. And it's not just like your belly. It's like everything in your body changes. It's like your hips get wider, your thighs get bigger, >> feet, >> your arms, >> the swelling, >> the ankles, >> my lack of ankle, >> double chin, like literally every part of your body changes and it's so hard to see, but it's also like such a beautiful thing. You just have to like change your mindset.
>> Yeah, I know. I feel like I'm going to look back at my pregnancy and wish I would have done bump stuff because I've taken maybe one bump photo and I do >> I think I'm going to look back and be like, I should have done that. But I know right now in this moment that's not like >> do it your next pregnancy >> what I need. I know I'll do it for the next one cuz I know I'll know like >> I'm sure there's like a ton of things we're going to do in the next pregnancy that'll be different from this one after having you know and like eat >> going to be different.
>> Yeah.
>> Mhm.
>> Definitely. For sure. There's something about summer that genuinely changes kids. You send them off in June as one person and then by the time August rolls around, they're completely different versions of themselves. Something shifted. New interest. new energy, new vibe, and Ross gets that, which is exactly why it's a go-to for back to school shopping. I think back to my own summers growing up, and that transformation was happening every single year. There was a summer I got really into music, the summer I found a real friend group that actually felt like my people, the summer I started figuring out my own sense of style instead of just wearing whatever. Those months have this way of shaping you in ways you don't even fully realize until you're standing in front of your closet and going, "Who am I this year?" And now I'm about to become a mom, so I'm already thinking about all of that for my kids someday. Those moments where they get to express who they're becoming. And I want to make that as fun as possible and as easy as possible.
Ross has absolutely everything you need.
Clothes for every kid, every style, school supplies, dorm room decorations.
If you're heading off to college, whatever version of themselves your kid comes home from summer as, Ross has that look for it at 20 to 60% off other retailers prices. So, you're not having to stress about budget while they figure out who they are. What I also love is that there's genuinely no pressure when you shop there. It's not like you have to commit to one look or one thing. You can grab a few different things, try out a couple of different directions, and let your kid figure out what exactly feels like them. That's what back to school should feel like. Exciting, not stressful. Ross makes it easy to say yes to more without having to overthink it.

Some of my favorite memories are back to school shopping. There was just something about a brand new set of supplies, a fresh folder. It felt like a reset every year. And now that I'm about to have my own kid, I've been thinking about those moments a lot. And Staples is where that's happening. It's the most wonderful time of the year at Staples when back to school rolls around. Summer is beautiful and chaotic and full. And by the end of it, everyone, kids and parents alike, are quietly desperate for a routine again. Back to school is that reset. And Staples makes the whole thing so much easier. You want it to feel fun for your kid, not like a chore. And Staples actually pulls that off. They have personalityfilled supplies with character favorites. Bluey, Hello Kitty, Spider-Man, the ones that make a kid genuinely excited to pack their backpack. That part matters more than people give it credit for. And then the practical side, you can shop directly from your kids teachers list, so there's zero guesswork in the aisle. School supplies start at just 25 cents. Plus, there are great deals on laptops and tech for the older kids, too. If you're the type to wait until the night before, no judgment, because Staples has 30inut instore pickup, so you can still get it done without the stress spiral. They're stocked all season long, too, which is huge because back to school genuinely never happens in one trip. Life gets in the way, things get forgotten, and Staples is just always there when you need to loop back. To shop the most wonderful deals for school, check out staples.com/thesqueeze.
Sleep has taken on a whole new meaning for me lately because being pregnant, getting comfortable at night is genuinely a project, and having a mattress that actually works with your body instead of against it has made such a difference. And my Brooklyn bedding mattress has been a lifesaver during this season. What I love most about Brooklyn bedding is that it's not some mass- prodduced situation. Every mattress is designed and assembled in their Arizona factory by a familyrun company that started from nothing. A guy named John built the whole thing from the ground up, learned the trade himself, and is still familyrun today.
You can feel that kind of care and the quality. Brooklyn Bedding is also one of the only few mattress brands endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association for spinal alignment and back health, which honestly, when you're growing a human, is exactly what you need to hear.
Your body needs real support to actually recover overnight, and this mattress delivers that. And honestly, the thing that keeps coming back to me is just how much sleep affects everything else. Your mood, your energy, how you feel in your body dayto-day. It's one of those investments that touches literally every part of your life. And Brooklyn Bedding makes it one you don't have to overthink. Plus, there's a 120 night comfort trial, so you have more than enough time to know it's the right one for you. Go to bricklandbetting.com and use my promo code squeeze at checkout to get 30% off sitewide during the summer sale. That's brooklyn betting.com and promo code squeeze for 30% off sitewide.
exclusive with my code brooklandbedding.com promo code squeeze. This is something that I've actually been learning more about and Natasha can definitely speak towards us more because she um has done it. But pelvic floor physical therapy, I feel like >> I've had a few people ask me if I've done it, but I've also had people tell me that >> I definitely should be doing it. And I guess I didn't really know like what exactly um it was. Um but Tosh had um went to an appointment and >> um was the first one of the group to >> test it out. If you want to share like what it is and how your experience was.
>> Yeah, I honestly just wanted to be as prepared as possible.
Like I totally get that my birth plan could go sideways and I'm okay with that. But I also just want to be like as physically prepared as I can be. And I had asked on my Instagram for some pelvic floor exercises cuz I feel like my feet is just flooded with them. I don't know if you have that, but um I had an overwhelming amount of people tell me to go see a physical therapist like specifically for pelvic floor work.
So I saw somebody and they have helped me with like breathing exercises and just different things around my body and preparing for birth. And I know that those things will change the further >> that I get into my pregnancy, especially like at the end of the third trimester and stuff like that. Um, and then also having like Bradley come to those appointments with me and being able to understand like what that looks like and helping me when I am in labor or like when I'm going to give birth. But, um, yeah, I there's like so much to learn.
It's overwhelming. And it I actually found it nice to go to somebody and not like try to do the research cuz I literally feel like all I do every single day is researching everything possible of how to prepare and what I should be doing or what I shouldn't be doing. So having someone just kind of like lay it out for me and give me a plan was really helpful. I loved it.
>> Yeah. No, that's so good. Yeah. There's definitely like so much >> Yeah.
>> on the internet. My biggest thing has been like the hip stretching.
>> Mhm.
>> Yeah. That's something I want to start like doing more of is the like mobility stuff of it all.
>> For sure. I literally did it yesterday.
>> Oh, you did?
>> Yeah. For the like the first time. So, it's funny.
>> That's good.
>> Yeah.
>> You just like find a video and you were just copying some of the stretches.
>> Yeah. I just saw someone like on TikTok say that they started like doing these like >> hip stretches and my hips were literally like cracking and popping >> doing it and I was like, "Okay, I need to like do this way more."
>> When I was trying to stretch, literally touching my toes. I'm like, "I could barely do this." I used to know. It's so crazy. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, we used to be dancers. Like, I don't know. Yeah. I can't even imagine like doing a split right now, but >> Yeah. No, that's not >> But yeah, I definitely want to try the pelvic floor therapy you need to do that.
>> No, that's great. I feel like that was like it definitely is a little overwhelming with how many things >> there's so many things >> there are out there. I think that's been one of the biggest things. I'm actually surprised by my lack of like research >> that I've done for some reason because I've been kind of crazy. Like I normally I am a little crazy with like being prepared.
>> Yeah.
>> But >> Well, I think it's cuz we have so much Well, it feels like we have so much time, you know? It's like until our due months, you know?
>> Yeah.
>> I feel like in the last month you're going to go >> you're going to get everything done.
>> Yeah. The other thing I will say is when I did my first appointment and a lot of the things that we were talking through came from like an anxious standpoint and you're breathing here because you know >> that like but you need to be breathing from here and this will help you when you push and like all these things. And I think for me, if I was to get anything out of going to a PT or like doing these exercises, I hope that it just gives me confidence. Like because at the end of the day, I cannot control what happens in the delivery room or like throughout my whole pregnancy. I can do all the things and it's still going to turn out XYZ. So I think for me in going like if it just gives me the confidence to like give birth and be okay with what's going to happen, then great. But like if you already have that, then I I'm not I'm not like you need to go and really be researched and like get physically prepared cuz everyone's going to have a different experience. But I think for me, like it's literally >> if it is all a placebo, I'm down for it.
Like if it's just giving me a little bit of confidence, then that's like all I need, you know? I'm so game for a placebo. I love I love all the foui things. I'm It's I think it's good. Um, pregnancy pregnancy pillow or what products would you recommend? I'm trying to think of like >> definitely loving my pregnancy pillow.
>> Loving my pregnancy has gotten hard.
>> Yeah, >> I feel.
>> Yeah, >> I'm trying to like not sleep on my back.
>> Um, and that's so hard to do without a pregnancy pillow, you know, cuz I'm a I'm naturally a back sleeper.
>> Okay.
>> So, like I will just like naturally just like roll over onto my back, but the pregnancy pillow like avoids that. Um, and it's just so comfy. But I will say my husband hates it. And my dog hates >> My husband hates it too.
>> He's like, "I can't touch you in bed anymore. There's like a literally so funny."
>> There's like a barrier.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> And you have like the full body like side. Okay. I just have one that looks like a really long sausage.
>> Like it's just like this like round little thing.
>> But cuz I have that on one side and then a pillow.
>> Okay. I was going to ask what do you put on? I had I was doing that with my pillows where I would just put it like on the side that I was sleeping for my belly, but then I would roll over and I'd be on my back and I'd wake up and I'm like, I shouldn't be on my back. So then when I got the pregnancy pillow, it literally >> I will I'm such a mover when I sleep.
Like I'm rolling over all the time.
Belly, stomach, backside, whatever.
>> And with the pregnancy pillow, it just keeps me in line. Like it doesn't let me roll either way. So I'm like I'm on board for it.
>> Yeah. Yeah. I I'm probably maybe by the time this is out, I've made the switch.
I technically have one. I just haven't I also haven't tried it yet. So, >> I don't know if I >> You're going to sleep so much better with it. Yeah, >> you really will.
>> Yeah, >> it's not the cutest thing on the bed.
Like, I can't lie. It's fine.
>> No, it's massive. It literally takes up the whole bed. Yeah, it's so big.
>> It's not the most aesthetic thing, but like I have gotten great sleep.
>> You got to do You got to do what you got to do. Yeah. Other pregnancy products.
I'm trying to think. My little smelly thing. My nausea.
>> Oh, yeah. That's good. that I've literally have not shut up about on social media that and my cold cap for my migraine cuz I will even still now that my not as like >> cuz I was using that even when I was just hot in the first trimester like I feel like I was so >> I'm still warm but I feel like first trimester I was like every night I needed that thing just on me because I was overheated.
>> Yeah.
>> But now it's nice I'll like lay it on my chest or like I still use it even if I don't have a migraine.
>> Yeah.
>> So that I think those two >> you got me to get one. Yeah, it's genius. Honestly, >> they're really like >> Yeah, >> the best things.
>> Yeah, >> I'm trying to think. You pop it.
>> What is that? Sugar?
>> No, it's lime.
>> Sour.
That was a sugar packet.
>> No, it's like true lime, but it's literally it anything sour makes me not vomit. So, >> Oh my god. Do you feel sick?
>> Mhm.
>> Okay, we can pause.
>> No, no, I'm fine. I'm sick 24/7. Fine. I just needed a little something.
>> I was like, what are you digging? Well, that's one of her that's one of her pregnancy products.
>> True lime.
>> I've never even heard of that.
>> It's so good. Oh my gosh.
>> A good hack.
>> I um I saw this somewhere and I my mother-in-law ordered it for like she'll have I don't know what soda like I'm just making up like a Coke and then I was like you should put this in. It's like a coke lime and all of us are obsessed. It is like the best thing ever. I have a couple packets in my pocket. I'll give it to you guys later.
Okay, great.
>> It's so good. It's literally just crystallized lime.
>> Mhm.
>> Oh my gosh. Yeah, I think those would be like the biggest >> Yeah. Pregnancy must haves.
>> Yeah. At least for like cuz now I kind of feel like I'm leveled out. Like >> Yeah. I >> I don't need as many as the little like I don't need >> knickknacks. Like I was needing like the portable fan. Like I was needing like >> everything. The only like other thing is like just like a belly a good belly oil.
like no matter like which one you want to use, there's so many out there.
>> Um but definitely just like moisturizing your belly and your boobs and your hips and your butt.
>> Um honestly from like day one.
>> Yeah. Like you got me on that early.
>> Yeah, I started it really early cuz I was like I've heard that it matters like how early you start it.
>> You got me on early and you got me more consistent.
>> No, literally when I was like 4 weeks pregnant every single day.
>> I started really early. Honestly, like every time I go into the bathroom, I'm just like oiling up my belly.
>> Um, >> if I feel it and it's just a little like it's not like dry, but if it's not like lthered in oil, I'm like, "All right, time to get it going."
>> Sometimes like I'll actually feel my belly even get like a little itchy cuz it's like stretching and I'm like, "Oh, I need to like oil it up."
>> Yeah.
>> Um, but yeah, >> I know. I haven't had that yet. My mom is actually asking me if I've been itchy, >> but I haven't been >> Yeah.
>> itchy yet. Knock on wood.
>> Yeah. It's kind of slowed down. I feel like maybe because I'm oiling more.
>> Maybe I was itchy earlier on and I didn't realize I was.
>> Yeah.
>> Um what about clothing? Maternity clothes. Where? What? Who? When? Why?
People are asking. Okay. Wait. I kind of want to talk about this because I am a little bit confused and maybe this is every pregnancy is different but so many people were like don't buy maternity clothes and just like you can work around your style and >> have clothes that you can wear for after which I do get but everything that I'm buying is like four sizes up. So, to me, I'm like, then what's what's the difference if I buy something that's maternity? Cuz all my jeans right now are literally four sizes that I normally am, and I know when I go back to not being pregnant, I'm sure I'm just going to go back to my regular jeans and these are going to be not fitting. So, I do I am a little bit confused on that whole like >> I thought about buy whatever, but like literally six weeks in, I was already like, I gotta buy new stuff. we would always talk about it like we need to just go shopping for >> new tops, new jeans, stuff like that.
Um, but yeah, I feel like I've been going through so many I'm at like a good space now. Like I figured out my size and I'm I'm working through my clothes.
But >> agree though, like not even just pants, but like even dresses. dresses like normally a size small but now I'm needing like a medium or a large and I'm like when I go hopefully I can get back to my pre-reg like I'm like I'm not going to be wearing my medium large dresses you know hopefully I'll get back to like my regular sized clothing for me >> I know >> so yeah I don't understand but >> and also something that I would recommend to anybody who is experienced body changes early Because I also know that there's a lot of people and we know people that they don't have body changes until you're like 8 n months pregnant, >> but >> get new sizes early.
>> Do not try to fit in your old clothes.
Because that actually sent me into the biggest spiral of my life. Like >> because I think I heard people being like, "Don't buy maternity clothes. Just like wear your jeans lowrise or like wear this as a crop top or whatever."
And I'm like, "Yeah, nothing's fitting.
And I it like I'm like coming out of my clothes. And I wish I just >> started wearing bigger sizes sooner because the second I did my confidence went way up cuz I'm like, "Oh, I'm like still cute." You know, like I'm wearing a different size that doesn't matter.
But it's clothes that actually fit me.
You know, >> it's like no one knows what size clothes you're wearing. Like no one knows if you're wearing a size large shirt and no one cares, you know? Like the only person that knows is you. So it's like wear the clothes. worse than feeling like you're conricted in your clothes.
Bra, underwear, like literally even my underwear. I've had to pair and I'm like >> the second I get into my actual size, I'm like, "Wow, I feel so much better."
I literally don't feel fat. I just feel like now they're my size and it's like working for me. But same thing, I was trying to fit into everything that is no longer my size and it didn't matter that it was bigger. It's just the second I put on something that actually fit, I'm like, "Wow, I feel amazing now." You know? No, I feel like I've definitely learned like like I'm wearing like jeans with like the elastic like a stretchy waistband like knowing to buy those knowing like underwear that I've bought like I cuz I tried to size up but it had like lace on it. So there was like a restriction of like where the lace met the cotton. So now it's like only like the no show fabric cuz that stretches and that will like be able to stretch with me.
>> So finding those fabrics I think has really helped like with with the pants and like something with drawstring like getting it a little bigger and having the drawstring and having stretch Yeah.
>> is really um has been really helpful for me.
>> And you don't need to spend like a ton of money on it, you know, like go to like Target, Old Navy, >> whole wardrobe. app. I even saw someone say that H&M has like a really good like maternity clothes section, but it doesn't like feel like maternity clothes. So, I want to look into that cuz I feel like they have like really cute stuff that's like for an affordable price point. Something I also feel like we could take into our next pregnancy is knowing what we feel comfortable in because I really thought like >> I was going to love being in dresses.
And maybe I just haven't hit like the part of summer yet where I'm like really excited to be in long flowy dresses, but jeans and a top have felt way more comfortable to me than like wearing a flowy dress, you know? And I think if you're going to spend money on a new wardrobe or like a couple new staple pieces, find the things that like you either want to invest in um if they are more expensive or like you said, I've literally been shopping at Target and Old Navy and I'm obsessed. Like I love my whole wardrobe. I think it's the cutest stuff ever. But I just know like the lowrise jeans and like a cute little belly tea that makes me the most confident. So I will know in my next pregnancy that like that's probably what I'll end up spending my money on. And if I change my mind, like of course, but I was like stocking up on all these dresses and then kind of realizing like it's like not what I'm in the mood to wear, you know? So, >> just like >> Yeah. Don't put expectation on like what you should or shouldn't >> putting on. For sure.
>> Yeah, that's very true.
>> Um, how much of your babies do you think you guys will share online?
>> We were just talking about this the other day. I think I think it's something that we're I mean I'll speak for myself that I think I'm just going to kind of figure out as I go.
>> Yeah.
>> Um cuz Yeah, I think there's pros and cons to every option.
>> So it is really just whatever and this is something too that I think >> you know we are so quick to judge people that like >> do show their kids or judge people that don't show their kids. It's just like something the internet has had an opinion about. Um, but that's something I really think is just like up to the discretion of the parent.
>> Yeah.
>> And I think you like don't really know how you feel about it until like your baby's here.
>> Yeah.
>> You know, and until you're like in that moment of deciding whether or not to post.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> But everyone's different. Yeah. I don't know.
>> My best friend before she was pregnant, she was super adamant about not showing her baby and was like, I that's not something I'm comfortable with. And then the second she gave birth, I feel like I just see her baby all the time and like obviously I love it because you know she's my favorite thing. But um she was like I just didn't know I would feel that way and my opinions change. So I feel like I'm just trying to go into it kind of like whatever I'm feeling. If I'm not interested in it, I won't do it.
If I am, I will. And also I think doing it for me and not because I feel pressured either way to like cuz I do feel for a while I was almost pressured to not and then you have people that are on the other end of the spectrum and like just the opinions of others and like realizing if I'm not going to show my baby >> it's because these are the reasons that I feel uncomfortable or if I want to these are the reasons I feel comfortable not because anybody's telling me I should or shouldn't. Yeah. you know.
>> Yeah. No, that's a great that's a great way to go into it.
>> Um, is there a tradition from your childhood that you're excited to do with your baby? Is there anything you've like thought about doing? I know for me like I'm excited to do like matching pajamas like >> cute.
>> Like we that we always do that. So that I'm like excited.
>> I don't know >> to do.
>> I know.
>> That's cute.
>> I know. If there's like a birthday or Yeah. holiday. I'm trying to think if there's like any other like tooth fairy.
Like I haven't even I've never even like thought about like what like that would look like.
>> Yeah. I mean my husband is Jewish so he never grew up with Santa. But I mean if there's anyone any kids listening don't like tell them to go away. But like I definitely want to do the whole Santa Claus thing with our kids even though like we're all technically Jewish. Like it's for the tradition of it.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. And of course the tooth fairy, >> the Easter Bunny. Yeah.
>> All of it.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. I feel like there's so many things that that are traditions that you don't even realize are because they're so normalized in your head of like this is just what my family has done. Bradley and I talk about that all the time because both of our families have such like specific ways of doing family activities or like Christmas or birthdays or whatever, but they're so normal to us. Yeah. In individually, >> but you're like I don't that's not like a tradition, but it is a tradition that's like unique to your family. So, I feel like I'll figure those things out once they come. But everything in my head right now is like, well, that's not like special, but it is, you know.
>> Yeah. No, I know. And I think it's special to like make your own traditions, too. like once you have your kids and start to like experience those like holidays and birthdays and everything just like making your own.
>> Yeah, that's so crazy. Um, what are you doing for self-care during your pregnancy?
>> Anyone listening to this podcast knows I talked about self-care way too much because it's the most important thing I think.
>> Um, but finding things for self-care has like was a little difficult I think in the beginning, especially when you're just feeling so like >> down bad.
But I think I've been I've been trying to be really consistent about like lymphatic massages for me because I'm already >> like swelling a lot. So that's something I'm trying to like be consistent with cuz I it feels like so much better.
>> Do that.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> You've also been good about reading more lately and that's selfcare.
>> I have been really good about reading.
>> What have you been reading today?
>> A little too good. A little too good with reading. No, my Kindle's been it's she's she's had some timeouts. Um because I just get so after we filmed our Tik Toks, I literally came home and read half a half of a book. Like I just like started it and it was like >> Thank God.
>> I'm like so Amy's been trying to get me to read books.
>> Yes. I've been trying to get really long. So long >> finally off campus.
>> But she finally got hooked onto off campus.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> And finally finally did it for me which is >> And I have so many more recommendations for you.
I'm ready to be locked in.
>> When I was like, if you really like hockey, romance, I have so many recommendations in that genre.
>> So, it's such so niche.
>> No, I think reading is definitely my like top self-care thing that I do for myself. Like, I'll like literally put my phone in timeout and I'm like, I need to stop scrolling so much and I'll just read.
>> Yeah.
>> But, it's like a good thing to replace scrolling on social media with.
>> For sure.
>> Yeah. So, I like to read for like an hour in the morning and an hour at night and then throughout the day whenever I like feel like I'm on my phone too much, I'll read.
>> Yeah.
>> And Yeah. It's amazing.
>> So good.
>> Yeah.
>> Mhm.
>> What would yours be?
>> The gym.
>> Yeah.
>> That's so good.
>> Yeah. Getting out and walking. I feel like you've been >> You've also like you have been very motivating to me to get out of the house. like you're really good at like getting out and going and doing things >> and I feel like that's really good mentally.
>> Yeah. I feel like uh the small parts of my routine before I was pregnant were so important to me. And then when I like didn't have access to them or like didn't feel like doing them, it really flipped my life upside down cuz I'm such a routine based person. So, like this trimester going to the gym and like still having a lifting routine and still feeling like confident and strong in my body. And the funny thing is I feel like half of it I I know that I'm like strong and I know that I'm like putting work in the gym obviously, but I seriously feel like half of it is just my mentality going like you did something good for your body today and like that just made me feel happy. You know what I mean? So, it's like just the little things that I can do for myself that >> boost my serotonin in any way.
>> You're inspiring me.
>> I know. It's the little things to get to the gym.
>> Yeah. It's honestly just like getting those little things in that matter because that's like >> you you just need you need to kind of have some gratitude for the little things because >> pregnancy is hard.
>> But I love that. Well, fun. Thanks for um another episode of the bump club.
Next time you guys see us, we will be bumping. There will be some bumps happening and Natasha will hopefully probably still be having a true lime pack.
>> Probably.
