Harry Potter series comes to life on Denver Center stage starting May 30

[00:00:00]Grab your invisibility cloak and magic wand. The crew from Surrey, England, they're coming to Colorado. In just a couple of weeks, the magical story of Harry Potter comes to life on stage at the Denver Center for Performing Arts.

[00:00:12]Dylan Thomas got a sneak peek of that show in St. Louis. He learned how the magic seeps into the audience.

[00:00:20]It is such a pleasure and a privilege to get to go places and and and show a story to people and know that it really is something that they they, you know, they love and they care about, you know, just as much as as we do. And that is evident [music] in the way the audience shows up for every single performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

[00:00:35]>> We're really lucky that wherever we go, we have people that are invested in these characters and in this story and that really really love this world [music] so much. One exciting thing about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is you're not just here to see the show, you're also here to be part of the magic and that comes with getting your own wand.

[00:00:56]Is that it? I think [music] this might be the one. I'm feeling the magic behind it. All right. Well, be responsible with your magic.

[00:01:03]>> And some may argue I came under prepared.

[00:01:05]>> People come with the the robes and the sweaters and then the costumes and the the Quidditch jerseys.

[00:01:10]>> And it isn't just the kids. It's incredibly humbling. It's [music] a really it's a wide array of people. Kids that are that are really really small that have, you know, just started reading the books and or or older people, you know, it's it's, you know, people that it's their first show they've ever seen, you know, and people who who love theater and go all the time. The magic felt by the [music] audience is amazing on stage, too. It's pretty exciting um to hear people's reactions. I feel that in my body, people's reactions.

[00:01:33]>> It is quite surreal, especially the level of um of magic that we have in the show, um it it it is it is an incredible thing to get to do every night for for an audience. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child [music] plays the Buell Theatre May 30th through June 21st. [00:02:05]>> Yes, when they go to the magic shop, it's the very it's a very it's a process to find your wand. But then the wand I I believe or if I remember it picks you.

[00:02:12]>> Yeah, you know it's the right one. I love that.

[00:02:14]>> Yeah. I wonder if they have butterbeer to go along with the show.
