Weather Forecast: Sunshine & Warmer Sunday

[00:00:00]Wow, those scenes are absolutely terrifying. And you know, Oregon is no stranger to that. And we're seeing some pretty bad conditions ourselves right now.

[00:00:07]>> That reminded me of the big fires of 2020 back in September. We had mega fires, several hundred thousand acres burning at one time, and I remember looking just like that. This is a generic map I've got that just kind of shows a placement of a lot of the fires that we have across the state. None of these are excessively large, but they are burning and they're going to continue to burn, especially the ones in central. Of course, we got the one down southwestern Oregon that we've been talking about. These out here burning in rugged territory, kind of hard to get to. Uh I'm looking at wind as well. Uh not a major issue. We do have westerly winds blowing those. Highs 30 mph right now in the Dows, but the fire weather danger, I'll show you here in a second, is remaining fairly low, relatively speaking. uh smoke forecast. Let this run all the way through Sunday. Not much in the way of movement from that smoke.

[00:01:00]It's generally pushing off to the south and to the east. So folks over there in Dashes County, Ben, up through Grant County, and off to the north and east, you're going to see that smoke as those fires continue. In fact, notice the air quality over the northwest part of the state, southwest Washington looking good. But as you move down south into the Rogue Valley into the fire near Medford and then again from Dashuites County out north and east through Grant County and out into the Blues and the Wala Mountains of northeastern Oregon, it gets as um as bad as unhealthy and unhealthy for sensitive groups as well.

[00:01:32]So take that into account if you're recreating over on the central and east side of the state. Uh elevated fire danger on scale from, you know, 1 to 10.

[00:01:42]Uh we're only looking at fours across that area tomorrow. Now, that may seem like high, but we don't have any uh [snorts] significant wind or any mechanisms to trigger more like dry lightning. Okay, seaside right now. Look at that big cloud right on top of Tamok Head as folks enjoy lots of sunshine out there. You see the flag blowing pretty stiff there from the west. West winds been blowing most of the day there.

[00:02:05]Sunshine. We've got sunshine in the valley. This Ridgefield alen a camera up in Clark County as we look at Interstate 5. Lots of good clear visibility as we look off towards the south down here in downtown Portland. Subaru Portland camera on top of the coin tower. 78° lots of sunshine. Just a cloud or two around 40% relative humidity. Due points 52. And the wind today it's been light north at 8. We had those morning clouds this morning. It's kind of interesting.

[00:02:30]I was up early this morning and the clouds were non-existent at sunrise and for a couple hours after that. Then they developed right over Portland for a few hours. They got back out of here around 11:00 a.m. You see there is still a little bit on the far northern Oregon coast. We're going to have a different pattern set up tomorrow. We're going to see less in the way of that fog and morning low clouds. A lot more in the way of sunshine coming up as we move into your Sunday afternoon. A slow warmup taking place. Average high is 83 in Portland. We made it to 78 Portland and Vancouver. Did make it to 83 in Salem. 85 Eugene. A lot of 60s to near 70 along the coast. And if you like the hot stuff, yeah, this time of the year, it's usually over there on the east side of the state. Temperatures right now, current temperatures right about where we were for daytime highs running a few degrees above where we were this time last night. All right, tomorrow morning on your Sunday hourly planner, brief morning clouds. I do mean brief tomorrow compared to today. Then lots of sunshine. We're going to add several degrees to the high temperature. Average is 83. You see where we've been the last 10 days or so. Boy, that 67 there a couple of days ago. One of the coldest daytime highs we've had in late July in a long time. 19 days now. Today is day 19 without any rainfall. Unfortunately, I don't see any coming over the next 7 to 10 days. Speaking of which, 7-day forecast. More sunshine on your Sunday.

[00:03:46]We'll go 86 for a high. Then Monday and Tuesday, we really start to warm it up.

[00:03:50]Back to summer heat, 93. And we stay right around 90 Ariel most of next week with just some slight cooling at the end of the 7-day forecast. What?
