When does decoration become structure?

[00:00:25]From the slanted lines opening at the collar to the folded creases across the chest, every line converges toward one side, guiding the eye to the core balance of the figure to channel physical force. The tightened fabric at the waist is no mere ornament. It visually binds the torso, creating a distinct transition of tension between the upper and lower body to bear structural support. The folds of the trousers function in harmony with the anatomy of the legs. They do not merely drape over the surface, but amplify the sense of weight grounded on the supporting limb. Therefore, these drapery folds are far more than a depiction of daily life. They integrate directly into the work's inherent structure. When lines govern directional rhythm, when surface form engages with physical stress, ornament ceases to be mere decoration.
