Stellaris Nomads introduces a new toggle option during empire creation that allows players to choose nomadic status, which fundamentally changes gameplay by preventing system and planet ownership, replacing shipyards with ark ships that carry colonies, and providing bonuses to survey speed, ship repair, and voidcraft research.

Stellaris Nomads Will Be A Toggle For Most EmpiresAjouté :
On May the 9th, Stellaris will be 10 years old. This Saturday, I am going to be releasing a complete Stellaris beginners guide that is currently over 2 hours long. There's still a few final touches to be added, but right now we're going to find out a little bit more about the dennial, some free stuff everyone will be getting, and some in-depth information about the new nomadic toggle that will be available in the Empire creation screen. This will explain to everyone how you can become nomadic in Stellaris Nomads. Honestly though, I can't believe Stellaris is now 10 years old. I remember when the game first released and the weeks leading up to it as I was furiously watching the Twitch developer diaries that were going on live, the playthrough sessions that Paradox were doing. And I honestly miss the novelty that the wonder, the mystery of that early game. I've played almost 8,000 hours of Stellaris. The initial novelty, the initial wander and mystery of the galaxy is long since passed for me. I hope it's there for you if you're a newer player. That was my favorite time to play. I still love the game.
It's still really enjoyable, but you know, like any long-term relationship, the relationship has matured.
We've got a birthday gift for the 10-year anniversary. Some Nomads intel.
Nomads is the next DLC coming to Stellaris. Let's find out what the Spy Network has reported. Well, many have been speculating that nomadic status would be determined by an authority, a civic, or an origin. But it turns out that it is something entirely new. You now have an authority and a type when you are selecting your empire, meaning you can toggle nomadic on or off.
Certain origins will not be able to be played with nomadic, and some origins will only be possible if you've taken nomadic. We've seen this symbol before as well on certain event popups that have special options. If you are nomadic, you cannot claim or own systems and planets. Colonies are carried by ark ships which also replace shipyard. So ark ships will be both colony and shipyard. There's also I'd like to point out here some beautiful, beautiful artwork for the background portrait on the diplomacy room background. We don't have a city. We have the background of the Ark ship. I'm not quite sure about the depth of those ark ship blades. They do seem a bit deeper than possibly they should be. Why Why are they so deep but but so narrow? Um I am confused by that.
Anywh who, it does look beautiful overall. I'm very very excited. There's Vipra the vapors. Sadly, we don't get the full tool tip. A lot of stuff there is blurred out and we cannot enhance it.
I'm deeply deeply upset. Nomads is of course a whole new gameplay option that an Empire either is or is not. After that, there are multiple compatible civics and origins both from this new DLC as well as from the vast library of other content available. One of the new origins is void farers. as prosperous unification is to pops than void farers is to ships. You'll get more of them.
And on top of that, it has been buffed again since the writing of this dev diary, apparently. So, currently the buffs are 20% more survey speed, 50% more docked ship hull repair speed, and armor repair speed. As ark ships are shipyards, I think this of course means that if you've got your ships stacked on top of an arc ship, they'll count as docked and repair as if they were at a shipyard. You'll also get 20% ark ship action speed, 20% way station build speed, 20% increased chance for voidcraft, and a 20% increase to voidcraft research speed. Interesting.
Interesting stuff. In their initial prototypes for this DLC, the devs did actually use a special ship set for nomads and then later a special Civic.
These were temporary fixes to kickstart development for the DLC. They always had much higher ambitions for nomads. The intention has always been to introduce a new toggle, a new setting for empires because the greatest strength Delaris has is the decade of great and evocative gameplay which you get to combine and make many new stories from. And if you're enjoying this video, please wish Stellaris a happy 10th birthday with that like button. As it has been mentioned before on this channel and in other dev diaries numerous times, Utopia, Synthetic Dawn, and Humanoid Species Pack are all being rolled into the base game on Monday, May the 11th.
As of right now, the three DLCs have been set to free on Steam. It is strongly recommended that you claim them for your accounts before you get to Monday. After Monday, it's going to be part of the base game and you'll no longer be able to get the DLC possibly, it seems. Why is this important? Well, if you want to roll the game back to previous versions to, let's say, 2.8.1 or 3.0 or 3.14 and you want access to Utopia Synthetic Dawn and Humanoids, you'll have to have the DLC codes because in those previous versions, it was not part of the base game. So, you might as well just for the sake of your future selves, go to Steam and grab those free DLC. There is also a Paradox summer sale on which I believe ends today on Thursday the 7th of May. If you want to pick up your Steam keys, you can get them on sale from the Paradox Interactive Store for Stellaris, Stellaris DLC, which are currently up to 50% off, and other Paradox Interactive games. If you use our link down in the description below, you will also be helping to support this channel. Or alternatively, you can use our code MontuPlays at the checkout. The free stuff and the sale is not the only things we'll be getting for Stellaris' 10th birthday. The devs are also adding in the behemothkin, which is a brand new portrait that everyone will get access to if you log in with a Paradox account.
This leader is inspired by Biogenesis Behemoth, and it comes at the same time as patch 4.3.6, which includes a bug fix where leaders who are too old are currently unable to die. Well, they're no longer unable to die by being too old, which I find deeply saddening, but a good improvement to the game overall. If you also go out and purchase Stellaris season 10, that means with patch 4.3.6's release, you will have access to both the Behemoth Kin and Vipra the Vapor, two brand new portraits that are definitely heavily inspired by Stellaris nomads. Look at all of that bronze or gold or or whatever it is. and kind of scimitar looking. I'm getting heavy desert dwelling nomadic people vibes from these portraits. Next week we're going to be looking at Stellaris ark ships, scientific ones, specifically whel lines and the sacred path origin.
Until that time, if you'd like a little bit more information about Stellaris Nomads, Stellaris willpower, the DLC after Nomads, and the two scenario packs, you'll want to click the video on screen How?
