According to Professor Mohammad Marandi, President Trump's unpredictable and aggressive behavior toward multiple nations (Oman, Cuba, Iran, Turkey, and Arab regimes) indicates that the US empire is losing confidence in its ability to rule and control, leading to irrational and brutal actions that isolate the US further and accelerate its decline by prompting regional states to seek alternatives and form new alliances.

Marandi: Trump's behavior backfires, US empire collapsingAdded:
Well, you know that in one day he threatened to destroy Oman and Cuba and Iran.
This is Trump and as your good guest in Washington pointed out, this there's no logic behind it. If for us to sit down and try to understand why he says these things would be a fruitless endeavor because we're dealing with someone who is not uh normal. This is not a normal person that we're dealing with. And so it's impossible uh to to comprehend and it's him and his impossible to uh understand what the way forward is for a person like him because he'll change course uh later. Before a meeting he'll say one thing or after meeting he'll say something completely different. But this is reflective of the state of affairs in the US empire.
His behavior is I think uh a clear indication that the US empire is collapsing.
You only see such irrational, brutal, and barbaric behavior uh from an empire that has lost confidence in its ability to rule, that has lost confidence in its ability to control. So it has to lash out.
So let us assume that Trump does go and invade Cuba. Is that going to solve his problems? It's going to make his problems worse.
It's going to make it more problematic for the United States because the entire world is going to distance itself from the United States.
And the entire world is now suffering because of the war against Iran, this failed war against Iran.
And his threats against Oman, when you complement it, when you put it aside alongside the threats that he just made to Turkey and the Arab regimes in the region to join the Abraham Accords. And he he effectively in the in true social threatened all of them. And then he also said they owe it to me to join the Abraham Accords. By insulting these regimes, by insulting the Turkish regime, the Saudi regime, all these others, he's only going to make things difficult for himself, even if these regimes are all obedient, which they are.
They are. Turkey under Erdogan is in the US camp. There's that's clear as day.
These other regimes, we saw the role that they played in helping the United States attack Iran. They're all proxies.
But they the this behavior makes even these regimes worry or think about alternatives. And it makes their people angry.
It makes them more hostile towards the United States. It isolates the United States further.
Across Latin America, when they see that the United States wants to invade Cuba, even those who do not support the Cubans, they are they become increasingly afraid uh about the behavior of the United States.
And they seek allies. So it's going to cause countries in Latin America to look to each other and and other countries outside of Latin America to balance to to to balance their relationship with the United States. The same is true with our region. Even these proxies will be looking more keenly at better relationships relationships with Iran. And that is something that they are in their own small way pursuing right now. And with Russia and with China. So none of this benefits the United States, just like the war itself.
This destructive and aggressive war, they killed 3,500 Iranians almost.
But they lost the war.
The long-term effects on the US empire are enormous. When Robert Kagan, the the godfather of the neocon, says that this was the greatest US defeat in its in its history.
Uh that basically means that the United States in the weeks, months, years ahead is going to be moving downhill at a much greater speed. We may not notice it at the moment, but this is the trajectory. So, Trump's behavior and his actions are diminishing an empire, which is already on the decline.
It is brutal. It is barbaric. Many people die. We see that in Lebanon. We see that in Gaza. We see that in in Venezuela. We see it across the world because the global economic crisis, because of the war, is is hitting hard people across Africa and across Asia and Latin America. Poor people across the world are the first to suffer.
But it is speeding up the process of US decline much more swiftly than what we saw before.
