In a statement for California sister station, Waymo said safety is the company's top priority and which is why this pause was put into effect. Closer to home, Waymo began offering rides in Nashville back in April. The self-driving vehicles operate across a 60 square mile service area here in Music City and routes currently do not include the interstate.
